Hello! I'm going to find a sealed(ish) pot today :-)

    Found - £2.41 potted :D

Can I please join? My target is £500 which will be really helpful with the extra spend coming up to Christmas at the end of October.

I'm nervous about keeping a large pot of money in the house so I'm going to empty each month and put in the bank. Reading post 1 (which is v detailed thanks) I think that's ok?

    I'll keep a running total.

    Cheers :T

Of course you can join us, MushyPeas SPC No 099. A very warm welcome to you. :grinheart Have fun saving and enjoying the chat on the thread, it motivates us all. You'll find your number on the the 2nd post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We empty our pots and declare our savings in October, please make a note of this year's date: 31st Oct 2019.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your number on your sig, it really helps me.

MushyPeas - yes, as the first post says, it'll be perfectly alright to bank each month's saving, I'd far sooner you feel better with it being safe. You aren't the only one. Please always remember to pop each amount banked on your signature. Thanks a lot and all best wishes in reaching your Target. :D

You do give me a giggle at times, dustydigger, I can just picture all of us wagging our fingers at our coins, ordering them to GROW!!!:rotfl: You and your books, I'd imagine you've a real passion for reading. Are the Kindle type any good? A lot cheaper, some even free depending on what you like best.
Very well done with the saving!! :j Ok I'll leave you to threaten your 5ps some more! :rotfl:

Brilliant potting, Dolly Rocker!! :D I've yet to do my first survey with Prolific! :(

So, you're having the same problems with coins then, Frogletina, though I get the feeling you shouldn't have admitted it to dustydigger, she'll be thinking we really do nag away at them! :idea:D'you give your SIL the actual coins for Christmas or swap them first?

Great potting, Loz!! That's a marvellous discount to get when shopping online, you'd be bonkers not to do it!!!! Re your latest post, good work on potting the change from your taxi, it sounds as though you're doing really well with saving, nice work!
I well remember sometimes feeling a little peeved when needing to work overtime, especially at this time of year, it really can come in handy. Wear a smile on your face :D when working and think of what you can do with the money!!! :j

Very well done again, Robin!!! :T It's great that your DH is also contributing. You're right, there are no end of colds and bugs going around, I suppose it's best to have them now and hopefully get them done before Christmas. Fingers crossed that will happen anyway.

    Really well done, Chutney!! :D

Thanks very much, 32b3, great work with yours also!! :j

Many thanks, Vicky, though not a great deal I can do for it. Still, there are one heck of a lot worse things it could be!
Excellent work on potting yet another £5er!! :dance:Have a wonderful time in Vienna Vicky, a couple I know were there last week and sent some video, so beautiful. No proper snow yet, only on the mountains, but who knows! Don't just look out for DH's dropsies, there may be others about too!!! :D Enjoy yourselves.

Bless you, James, I don't know how they get but at present it's not a bit painful but more like fog from the centre of the eye back to the corner. From what folk have said, I think surgeons like them to almost cover the eye before operating. Time will tell about the speed etc, but as I said above to Vicky, there are a lot worse things it could be, so I'm grateful for that! :D

So your another who's bugged by the 5ps, there so stupidly small too.
I know the overtime might be a bit of a pest James, but it's always good to have extra cash. Your boss has the Christmas spirit and was just thinking of your welfare!! :rotfl: Sleep well and have a lovely weekend. Here are some {{{hugs}}} for you too, thanks James.

Fantastic finds of such an amazing amount, claremylove!!! :j Quite possibly kiddies who didn't think it worth taking home, but you've given them a loving home, brilliant!!

Not a bad result, Bounty?? It's a really great amount so be chuffed to bits with it!!!

The same with you too, CapricornLass, you've saved a fantastic sum!!! :j

Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND, folks, and don't forget to pot, when possible!
    Sue

    Evening potters

    Hope you are all well
I couldn’t get a tin from the well known £1 shop, so had to buy a regular money box.
Yesterday I managed to get a tin, so I’ve emptied my money box and bagged up some money to pay in the bank on Monday.
My first amount banked is £62 :j
Christmas shopping is done and dusted and I’ve got money left over

    Emily xx

Sue, I’ve just seen your post regarding the numbers. You can allocate me a lower number if you want to xx

    Evening

    £3.87 potted today.

Friday evening is the best for me, alarm is off for tomorrow and I get up when I wake up rather than when my stupid alarm decides its time.

    Have a lovely weekend everyone.

    Hey fellow potters,
Hope your all well and can see you have been potting well.
Attended the works charity sale Wednesday and visited Lincoln Christmas market yesterday with cash in purse. Enjoyed myself at both events :) At the end i had £9 in cash remaining. I have potted £5 of this today. My biggest potting to date. I will see the weekend out and pot anything else left.
    Happy potting days

    Hi everyone
Glad I still have a number, only just returning.
I have a pot on my kitchen windowsill which I will use for an emergency fund and a money tin for next Xmas, so anything I manage to save will be divided into two.

So I have just emptied my purse of change and put £2 in one and £1.90 in the other, I am left with an Irish coin in my purse which I will put into one of those boxes for foreign coinage! I just noticed that one of my pound coins is a Euro, theres some dodgy people in shops these days I will have to be more vigilent in the future, that's £1.57 into both, so instantly worse off!!!

I give him the coins as he's been saving them up for ages in a large glass bottle. I wrap them differently for him each year so he never knows which package they are in. Once I wrapped each one individually and put them in a home made cracker. This year he will get the most 5p coins that I've accumulated since I've been doing it.

We also both like disaronno and have been known to give each other identical bottles as presents.

    Thanks for the welcome Sue-UU

I was really excited today when I found a 1p outside a primary school.

It was only when I got home I realised it was play money!! :rotfl:

Will try harder tomorrow - change today went straight into my parking purse!
