  • Thankyou!
My pot is currently an open pot, purely so I can bank the money every month and use it to save towards my emergency savings target. Also less likely to keep dipping in to and and wanting to spend. As Unfortunately the sealed pots don't keep me away!
So far I'm doing well throwing my money in it, hopefully I can keep going and not be too tempted to use it to buy more Christmas gifts!
Sealed Pot Challenge #068 Declare 31st October 2019
    Save £12K in 2019 #022 Target £3000
  • I added in some more change to my pot over the weekend so now I have £10.68.

Unfortunately I’ve gone into my arranged overdraft but I’m trying not to let it bother me too much as it was due to essential bills needing to be paid. I should be getting some money into my account on Wednesday so won’t be in it for long at least.

Of course you can join us, Reflecting SPC No 067, ChloeWhite SPC No 068 and lincs1205 SPC No 069. A very warm welcome to you. :grinheart Have fun saving and enjoying the chat on the thread, it motivates us all. You'll find your number on the the 2nd post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We empty our pots and declare our savings in October, please make a note of this year's date: 31st Oct 2019.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your number on your sig, it really helps me.

Reflecting - you've definitely come to the right place if you're determined to save! Keep visiting regularly and it'll keep you motivated to save every penny possible! :D

ChloeWhite - Although I understand you, do your absolute best to keep your cash in your pot, bank too when you take it there. Yes, you could spend what you have now on more presents, but if it's for the sake of it, it'll be wasted! :( Keep it saved and come next October you'll be so very excited at all you've saved!!!! :j

lincs1205 - It's never too late for new friends to join us. BTW, you can include all MSE challenges with SPC when you declare your savings, so be sure to save well!!

Very many thanks, Frogletina :staradmin and Dolly Rocker :staradmin super welcomes for which you've both earned a lovely gold star. BTW. Frogletina, did you see you have a new SPC No which is 063. As not many high numbered folk have come forward to fill in the gaps of those who haven't returned lower, I'm having to do it myself. Great work with the vouchers too!!!

Hi all SPCers! :hello: I hope you're all enjoyed a good Monday. Look after yourselves all and have a great Tuesday.

For all those of you who are poorly or low in spirits, look after yourselves and get well soon. Here are best wishes and {{{{hugs}}}} from us all at SPC. :grinheart

Excellent potting, Thrice!!! There's a super sum to have in your pot!!!! :j

That's worked out marvellously don't you think, Dreamworlded!!! :dance:However, to be a little sure about what you're going to end up with, you could always count on from what your total was before hubby put his cash in. That way you'll know of a certain amount as well as having a little surprise as a bonus! :D Well done whatever!!!

Very good potting, RebeccaAnn!!! Good luck with the drawers. ;)BTW, why not have a "Holding Pot"? Somewhere you can put your unused note or cash so that it's safe, but it's also there if you need money for shopping, car park or little Johnnie's school trip (if it applies). If you find you don't need it, then pop it in your SP. It helps you to have cash should you need it without breaking into your pot, then save if you don't.

Oooh thank you Sue. Will add my number. Is it right to be so excited about saving pennies lol

You wouldn't be normal if you weren't excited, Meowcom! :jMuch like a lot of things that AREN'T good for you ...this is, but it's great!!! Thanks so much for sorting your No out.

I'm so happy you really enjoyed yourselves in Vienna, Vicky, wonderful! :D There's no way it's you alone that shimmys upon grasping a £2 coin, they're just so beautiful. Ask jakes-mum what her thoughts are on them, she'll fight for them! Talking about her, I know she's busy, but she's only been on here once since we started the thread, I'll PM her and make sure she's ok. Very well done on your other potted odds and ends!

Go you for sure, motivated!!! :T A wonderful feeling isn't it!! Brilliant work in potting the £3 which is now safe, and not wasted!!

That's brilliant thank you Emily! I hope you have time to relax after it's all done at Christmas. It's definitely hard graft, especially mind wise.

I can't recall Lynne saying she was ending her potted Sue. Strange that she hasn't updated on last year!

I have potted some money today.

Thanks a lot, 32b3, I'm glad we're both of the mind that she would still be back with us. I'll contact her to find out, but I hope she's still with us. Money potted is money safe!! :D

    Fantastic saving, Whatshername!!!!

Great potting, Loz, it's gradually building up!! ;) You sound a bit like me at times as DH & I sometimes tip over a bit at the beginning of the month as all the bills go out at a memorable time.

Enjoy a good Tuesday, folks, and don't forget the pot!!!
    Sue

NB folks: Opening date for SPC 12 will be 31st October 2019

Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late, so please just ask, you'll be made very welcome.

  • Hello my lovelies, amazing potting going on and I'm sat frustrated with nothing to update for it seems like a lifetime!

Made a sale on eBay, but buyer doesn't seem in hurry to collect grrrrr! It's sold for £25 so if they ever collect that'll be in the pot!

Surveys slow going but have £2.10 on pa and £23 on onepoll.

Have seen real cash last weekend but managed to spend it all at a lovely Christmas market on Saturday. Naughty, but very nice.
    Finally Debt Free 24/4/2023
  • Oh Choccygirl I love a Christmas Market but they are so dangerous!

I could literally spend my whole wage in one visit :p

I've been so good this year, managed to have a wander around twice so far without buying anything!

    It won't last though haha!
