NSD: Stuck at 12/15, but there’s still time!
Xmas:Purchased OH’s pressie today. Thanks to this challenge I bought it much earlier than I would have otherwise which saved me money as price increases with time. Also popped to P0undland for some stocking fillers for OH. Will also buy some nicer fil,DRS, but determined to spend less on stocking this year. So far so good!
Income: Total extra income for October is £198.51.IO BTL1 Mortgage was £97,693.54 on 09/08/18; £83,140 on 31/12/19.Sealed Pot Challenge 12: #078: £150.36

Evening all, just a quick check in before bed.
No NSD here, bought some birthday gifts for OH and also got some medicine online for the rabbits. And needed petrol. I based my fuel budget this month on working from home half the time but plans at work changed and I've been in as normal so had to find the extra money for that, which is a shame as I had a decent chunk left earlier this week but had to spend £25 of it.
Gym this evening and physio exercises done so feeling good but tired. Hoping this feeling of being absolutely knackered after exercise will go soon :rotfl:0 -
NSD - I didn't spend a penny today so that's me on 12/15
CHRISTMAS- I mixed together the mincemeat ingredients today and I should get it potted on Sunday.
CHALLENGE - I know it's nearly the end of the month but I'm starting a challenge to eat a more healthy diet. First thoughts are to add fruit and yoghurts instead of cakes and chocolate. I bought these yesterday and also bought vitamin D supplements. I would also like to lose 7 lbs by Christmas - I can but try
EXERCISE - This morning I did 30 min exercise dvd and I also went a 3 mile walk after lunch. What a beautiful sunny but chilly afternoon.
APPLE MUNCHER I actually love travelling but if I get stressed I then panic and lose all reasoning like getting on the right tube but going in the wrong direction and not noticing for 10 minutes  I now try to take my time and stay calm.
I had a great productive no spend day today - hoping for another one tomorrow xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Hi all :j
Challenge: Oops forgot this one yesterday! Don't smoke & rarely drink either, so it has to be giving up unhealthy snacks. Tried very hard today, all snacks fruit or yoghurt..or nuts. However, did have a cake as a treat for Friday..
Organise. Start as you mean to go on. Know the contents of your fridge, freezer and cupboards. Plan your meals around them. Cook from scratch. Don't buy anything you can make unless cost /time taken dictates otherwise. If you are new to turtle challenges or still have full cupboards you could try living from the cupboards. Lunch rest of pate, supper chicken with jacket spuds coleslaw (& YS stir fry for me). Sounds weird but although it was a cheapy, I didn't want to waste it - & it was actually quite nice..
Regular budget items should be set by 1st October. If you don't know how much you are spending on food or petrol, now is the time to find out. Question every purchase - need or want? A bit of food shopping again today (I blame DD). Thankfully she has now gone to her own place, so won't be coming round for a few days at least...
No Spend Days. Aim for 20 (high target) or 15 (low). Am aiming for 15 but hoping for more. Still 15/15.
Improvise. Make do and mend with a creative twist. think of a substitute ingredient, how to make an old/broken piece of furniture last a little longer. Thinking if the dishwasher can't be mended, we might not bother getting another one. Eyeing up the space in the kitchen where it lives, I could do with some more storage, but need something that'll fit in the gap...hmm ponders.
Exercise Four times a week at least (20 minutes minimum but can be done 10 minutes at a time). Get outside in daylight as often as possible. Not long outside today, had flu jab yesterday so arm sore & feeling a bit bleurgh.
Christmas Got some charity decorations, expensive but in a worthwhile cause. Also ordered in a moment of madness a Christmas themed rolling pin fgs.
Banned Will only be chippys normally with the odd takeaway planned for a celebration etc. No takeaway today.
Extra Income and Extra time Went to Sains with DD & she scanned my nectar card for her shopping & promptly won 3000 points...so my balance is now £50+ - I of course got 500 points on my shopping..
Report in, daily if possible I'm here..

Hello!
Not really feeling it today, was up most of the night and then my son woke me up at 5.30 full of it, so I've not really slept. I'm at work till 6 as well. Glad I'll be getting that extra hour in bed tomorrow morning (son is with his dad this weekend)
Challenge - Still feeling rough so just eating what I fancy when I fancy it (which isn't a lot tbh)
Organise - Still need to get fuel!
No Spend Days - Not gonna be today, need lunch for work.
Improvise. Make do and mend with a creative twist - None today
Exercise Four times a week at least - Not happening still feel rough and working today.
Christmas - None
Banned Takeaways, coffee shops, chippys, pie shops, vending machines, sandwich bars etc. - Will probably grab a little something for lunch.
Extra Income or Extra time for the time poor - None today.

Morning all :coffee:
Another spendy day yesterday - haircut for me and ds. It was planned and budgeted for though.
It's snowing outside this morning, and there's nothing I would like better than to be able to snuggle down and not leave the house. However, I have tutoring this morning and I need to go into town later to pick ds up - he's spent the night with his dad and they are going to football this afternoon.
Other plans for the day are a bit of school work and to sit down and finish going through my budget. It's all very tight at the minute, unfortunately. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Chilly here but no snow
Love the Rathbone SH films - we have them on DVD somewhere along with a box set of the Jeremy Brett version (still the best IMO) and the first series of Sherlock (need to get the second, the less said about series 3 the better). As you might guess, we are Sherlock Holmes fans in this house
Mothernerd: glad you got some film time on as well, and the delivery wasn't too onerous.
Greent: sorry to hear about your Nan. Wishing her a gentle passing.
Right, time for a check in.
Challenge: doing v well on the no booze despite friends being very irritating about the whole thing, sugar cut down was a huge fail. Visited my Dad this week and succumbed to Proper Sweets - chewing nuts, sherbert pips, cough candy. Yummy but not On Plan. Nor was the plum bread I just had for breakfast.
Organise: house is a tip! Will get onto that this weekend.
NSDs: 11/15
Improvise: dug out my fabric stash and am making a v slow patchwork quilt
Exercise: walking ok, will try to get out for a run tomorrow
Banned: not bad, had a meal out with Dad and split the cost but the portions were huge and the price cheap.
Christmas: I now have some money in my Xmas pot! Not as much as I'd like, so will top up when the CB lands.
Extra income/time: none to report.
Have a great weekend all0 -
GlendaSugarbean - Totally agree with you regarding Jeremy Brett. My twin brother kindly brought me the dvd box set with him as SH.
apple muncher - As usual SH solved the case and got the baddie before Scotland Yard.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Dolly - we dont even get a booklet - the kid gets a list on sh0w my h0mew0rk, and then randomly kiddo says -oh yeah I need a vegan substitute for pickled eggwhites with gold leaf for tomorrow - Food Tech'' teachers'' have a lot to answer for.
Yesterday I turned out to be rubbish - so NSD 18
The mass clearouts over half term have had an effect on the the c/s round here - went into one who had 5 dvds for £1 and lots of book sales on. Saw Sherlock season 2 as wellI think.
Just after half term seems to be when people have a clear out for Chr1stm4s.
Tagines seem to be so 2015 at the moment. They are everywhere...And slow cookers.
I am off to a craft fair today and a 'wastenot' fair ( I am thinking jumble sale) will report back - they make fabric shopping bags, which you buy for £2 and anything you want that you can fit in it is yours. Plus you get the bag.
My first one today, nice to be going out and leaving the kids behind ( that sounds so awful but is just so true).
Right, off to pretend to be a grown up
My mission for today is to not mention my kids to anyone while I am out.
I am a person, not just somebody's mum.
Onwards!!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
