    Hi all

    Challenge:
Oops forgot this one yesterday! Don't smoke & rarely drink either, so it has to be giving up unhealthy snacks. All snacks fruit or nuts today.

Organise. Start as you mean to go on. Know the contents of your fridge, freezer and cupboards. Plan your meals around them. Cook from scratch. Don't buy anything you can make unless cost /time taken dictates otherwise. If you are new to turtle challenges or still have full cupboards you could try living from the cupboards. Lunch sandwiches & supper sausage leek & pasta bake, using some of the pasta mountain. Also HM apple crumble..

Regular budget items should be set by 1st October. If you don't know how much you are spending on food or petrol, now is the time to find out. No purchases today.

No Spend Days. Aim for 20 (high target) or 15 (low). Am aiming for 15 but hoping for more. Now 17/15.

Improvise. Make do and mend with a creative twist. think of a substitute ingredient, how to make an old/broken piece of furniture last a little longer. Improvised with the contents of the fridge for lunch & supper.

Exercise Four times a week at least (20 minutes minimum but can be done 10 minutes at a time). Get outside in daylight as often as possible. Outside today but very cold. Painted front door - first coat - & picked rest of apples.

Christmas Got some charity decorations, expensive but in a worthwhile cause. Nothing today although have some ideas.

Banned Will only be chippys normally with the odd takeaway planned for a celebration etc. No takeaways today.

Extra Income and Extra time Did survey yesterday & had one today but it wouldn't work for me..

Report in, daily if possible I'm here..

    Go turtles !!

    Update for Sunday:

    NSD: 13/15.

Exercise: Completed 2.5 hour sportive bike event on Sunday and learned that I need more than two slices of toast before an event like this!

Organise: Booked an annual sports challenge abroad to avail of cheaper flights. Chose to book an event in Eastern Europe rather than Central Europe. Difference in entry fees alone was £25 vs £125, plus it will be interesting to go to a new location. Having a goal means I can crack on with creating a training plan with mini-goals along the way.

Income: Total extra income for October is £198.51. Completed a survey, but there’s a ways to go before I yield any dosh from this! Also advertised one item for sale on FB.
    IO BTL1 Mortgage was £97,693.54 on 09/08/18; £83,140 on 31/12/19.:D

NSD achieved today - 24/20. I did pay a deposit for my trip to Memphis, but that was from money that was given to me. It is a package tour holiday and the company sorts out flights, accommodation etc. Does help with the visa and insurance. Have to pay for food/drinks myself, so will have to decide how much money to bring, also for additional spending.
Went for a walk in the park today.
Just did a lot of resting/chilling out. Not too much sleep last night, but not as bad as I had earlier on this week.
    Did a survey.
Started a list of what food I need to buy over the weekend.
Still using up food and toiletries already in.

Found out last night that after we disturbed next doors would be burgular he went into the cul-de-sac behind us and managed to kick a door in, no-one was in and he ransacked the place. The lady living there has only been in a week, it's a bungalow and the old lady living their before her had died and this fairly old lady had moved in. Awful, everyone is on high alert at the moment.

I worked today but DH was off with the kids, they went to the cinema and DH went to the gym, also bought dog food and ordered a new pack of watch batteries.

dolly84 - That is frightening what is happening. Are the police aware of what has happened.

mothernerd - You have achieved so much recently.

    Yikes, dolly, that's rotten.

Today I am grateful for a good night's sleep, for getting out and about in the sunshine of the morning, for taking 2 bagfuls to the Sally Army, for getting a lot for just £2.50 (+£4 credit used) in the ch shops, for time with dh and dd, for dd playing out a lot, for a warm house, for finding 5p roadkill.

    NSD: 14/15

Organise: Decluttered a treasure chest: uncovered blanket for using on sofa and dropped some toys off at charity.

Income: Total extra income for October is £198.56. My place to work at sportive on Saturday has been confirmed. Best friend is also doing it, so if working together could make for a fun day! Completed another survey. Oh and found 5p which will go in the piggy bank and which I’ve added to my October total! :rotfl: I am tantalisingly close to the £200 mark for October, must get my thinking cap on to see if I can reach the mark in a TT fashion! Ideas welcome!

  • Dolly - that sounds so scary. I hate when things like that are going on so close to home.
Finally bagged myself a nsd now I'm back at work, desperately counting the seconds until payday because I'm absolutely broke.
I have been budgeting hard and worked out I will be £400 a month better off once I have the mortgage switched and solicitor's bill paid. If only I could get my ex to actually sign the forms. It's so stressful and difficult to make ends meet at the minute...
First day back - went ok. More of the same tomorrow.

    Hi all,
    Dolly - that's just horrible.
Kerry - your trip sounds very exciting
I was awake at 4.30 but managed to drop off again until my alarm went off at 6.15. Work was the usual counting down the minutes until hometime interspersed with lunch and my apple snacks. Have applied for five perm jobs in the last week so hope one of them offers an interview before I go stir crazy.
    NSD - 12/15
All meals from stock. Made SW pulled pork in the slow cooker today, which meant browning the pork joint at 7am (insert sick face here). Was lovely to come in to a ready made meal though and the house smelled lush.
    Have a good evening all
