  • Hello,

It has been a few days since I last posted. A lot has gone on since then and I am seriously evaluating my life choices right now.

The total amount of NSDs I have wracked up so far is 14/15 NSDs.

Today, I have done some Christmas shopping. I have bought the boy a Nintendo Switch on a really good offer which came with a free game. I also had a £50 amazon gift card (earnt through cc rewards points) which I used to buy a further two games. I shall have one happy boy at Christmas. I only have one more thing to buy for him. I am so glad that I have saved money throughout the year to cover these costs. Initially I was cutting right back but it has been a bit of a tough year and the boy deserves a treat. I feel like he is sometimes left out compared to his friends. This is what he has asked for.
    Chandelier.

NSD - 25/20. I did sort out another trip that was on my bucket list for next month. This was covered by the money left to me. A short trip to Northern Ireland. Bus tour which includes Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. Hope that the weather is good for me to cross the bridge. I can travel to the airport on morning of the flight. It came to a very reasonable price. Spending money only. That will be all for my trips now. After my return from Memphis I am going to be looking into moving.
Walked to a shopping parade then got bus. Also walked to/from bus stop to/from Mum's grave. Picked up the flower containers so that I can get a flower arrangement done.
Put some full coin bags into my savings account. Also transferred some money into current account to cover my trips and decorating of the flat.
Am taking it easy now for the rest of the evening.

  • Evening everyone :hello:
    Hope you're ok Chandelier...
Another busy day for me today, although I had to pop to the shops on the way home for cat food. Not sure how I ran out, but can't leave them hungry. Tomorrow will definitely be a spend day so I am declaring my 15 nsd's for October. Must do better for November.
I'm really struggling financially at the moment. Making lots of cut backs but nothing seems to be enough. It's stressing me out quite a bit if I'm being honest - I had hoped that the divorce would be sorted sooner than this.
However, I'm home from work and relaxing nice and early tonight. Curtains closed, heating on and in my pj's under a blanket. That's a nice feeling :D

As long as he knows he's loved that's all that matters imo.

The police are aware of the two incidents but whether anything gets done is anyones guess.

Very busy day at work today but I've finished now until Monday so I get to spend a few nice days with DH and the kids.

ccl - you do seem to be in limbo at the moment, I hope things move forward soon for you.

    Hi all,
Chandelier - sounds like you got a good deal, he will love that I'm sure.
CCL - hugs, it's not an easy time for you x
Mothernerd - how lovely to take some pampering treats to you mum
Kerry - you are brave contemplating a rope bridge at any time of the year!
Foxholes - I have day's like that, feeling guilty for only doing house stuff. Ridiculous isn't it?

I took lunch to work and am claiming today as NSD which makes 13/15 meaning I won't reach my target unfortunately. Bring on November!

Today I am grateful for my counsellor, for the bus coming despite the app saying it wasn't anywhere near, for getting some walking in up a big hill, for finally pruning back the front and digging up / replanting stuff, for getting some admin done, for dd enjoying school, for sorting out a last-min visit up to see mum tomorrow, for TCP to put on my rose bush scratches, for all the turtles who come on hear and post and share their ups and downs with each other.

NSD number 19 here, can't remember the last time I did so well! Got paid today, normally run my budget from payday to payday but new job pays me on the 24th each month (bit of an odd date) so I'm going to adjust and do my budget per calendar month from now on.

Gym class was cancelled which I was secretly pleased about, would've just made this evening too much of a rush. Will go tomorrow though. Managed a walk around the park at lunchtime as my exercise instead.

    Hi all :j

Challenge: Oops forgot this one yesterday! Don't smoke & rarely drink either, so it has to be giving up unhealthy snacks. The cutting down on snacks seems to be working, lost 2lb this week...will keep going although going on hols in a week, so that will be harder.

Organise. Start as you mean to go on. Know the contents of your fridge, freezer and cupboards. Plan your meals around them. Cook from scratch. Don't buy anything you can make unless cost /time taken dictates otherwise. If you are new to turtle challenges or still have full cupboards you could try living from the cupboards. Sandwich & HM soup for lunch, supper last of pasta mountain plus leftover chilli made into a bake.

Regular budget items should be set by 1st October. If you don't know how much you are spending on food or petrol, now is the time to find out. Spend day today.

No Spend Days. Aim for 20 (high target) or 15 (low). Am aiming for 15 but hoping for more. Still 18/15.

Improvise. Make do and mend with a creative twist. think of a substitute ingredient, how to make an old/broken piece of furniture last a little longer. Lots of cs bargains today - good job as I will not be there for the next 3 weeks. Including a jam pan, which I was delighted about & paid £2 for. Also a brand new Easyo yoghurt maker which was 50p as they threw it in the bin...however, had to put up with them referring to me as a bin dipper :rotfl:

Exercise Four times a week at least (20 minutes minimum but can be done 10 minutes at a time). Get outside in daylight as often as possible. Exercise mainly in cs, 4 hours sorting etc. Short time outside with beasts.

Christmas Found a cd in cs for DH , cost £1. Mrs Generous I am.

Banned Will only be chippys normally with the odd takeaway planned for a celebration etc. No takeaways today.

Extra Income and Extra time Another survey to do...

Report in, daily if possible I'm here..
