I've just paid less than that for a car.
When I saw the price, I thought that they must have left out the decimal point or something! My parent's house cost less than that sixty odd years ago!
I'd want whistles as well as bells for that kind of money.0 -
they are good at what they do but what i can't understand is why people are paying such a massive premium for there products.
there products are still behind the leading edge tech and still playing 'catch up' although they have come a long way in the last 2 years with screen/phone size and screen resolution
just to make it clear i voted leave and refuse to pay >£500 for a phone so don't own a apple phone"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -

I'd want a 5 year warranty on it before I'd do more than laugh my way out the shop! And easy/cheap screen and battery replacement. Bet that isn't the case though!0 -

Would you pay £100,000 extra for a new build home? I wouldn't, but I know people that do.
Would you pay £2,000 for a women's bag? I wouldn't (also because I am not a woman), but people that value the brand and what comes with it sometimes do.
The iPhone is the iPhone. Any other product, even if 10 times faster and 1/3 of the price, won't be an iPhone, won't have the half-eaten apple at the back and won't be a status symbol.
People buy the iPhone because they like the iPhone, there's isn't always a logic explanation.0 -
i get what you are saying about premium brands and understand it but this imo is unpresidented due to number of people involved. the examples you give are a relatively small number of people."The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

Given the GBP to USD exchange rate is currently £1=$1.31 as I type then for Apple to get the same pre-tax price as they do in the USA it would need to be a 1:1 conversion. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Apple's US price is pre-sales tax. Apple's UK price includes VAT so there's at least 20% accounted for. iPhones will also be subject to import duty as they come from outside the EU.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Two articles here might help better understand the reasons

Not all their customers buy the latest iPhones. My 12yo niece is using my old iPhone 4s (battery replaced) my sister is using my old iPhone 6s and I’m on the iPhone X but will not be buying the newest phone. However all 3 of us will remain with Apple because of iOS and other hardware. My sister enjoys using her iPad which made her prefer the iPhone because it has iOS.
At some point they will get my money for their latest phone and once more my phone will be trickled down for others to possibly get exposed to iOS.
There is not one single reason for why people like Apple products but because they serve such a wide variety of people from all walks of life then there is no disputing that they make good products. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
