Think they have accounted for future exchange rate variances, whether its worth it is a individual choice (for me no but im a android person)0

30% movement in 2 stable currencies? only apple could get away with that"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

It's worth the money as long as you find people willing to pay that much for a phone.
If nobody buys it, they will drop the price. If people keep buying, no reason why it should cost less, we are not talking about the price of an essential good.
Personally, never had an iPhone, but don't blame people who like (and pay for) Apple products.0 -
A grand and a half for a mobile phone? Of course it's not worth it but enough sheep will pay it. Of course someone will be along shortly to explain why it is worth it after all. You can't miss them, their posts will be full of baaa's0

A phone is worth what people will pay for it.
There is more profit margin for the manufacturer selling 1 high end phone, than 100 lowest end budget phones.
Therefore Apple pricing is a simple equation:- Max profit = making the phone as expensive as you can get away with
The "value for money" always lies in the "high end budget" or "low mid" price point phones, where competition is fierce.0 -
the bookcost of the last years apple phone that sold for £1k was approx £250 and would be surprised if the bookcost of this one was >£300.
really don't understand how apple get away with it. you must be able to buy the same spec (or greater) phone for <£500"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -

Apple has built a marketing fortress, and they have been very good at that.
Is the tech inside the iPhone worth the money? No, probably not. But if you can get people buy something double the price compared to another product with the same specs, well, that's a commercial triumph.
I think that criticism would make sense if nobody was buying their products. But since people are making them the biggest company on the globe, that only means one thing: they are good at what they do.
(Just to be clear, I'm not an Apple fan, I don't own a MacBook nor an iPhone, never had).0 -
