If you can afford it get the iPhone 7 at £450 and the 9.7 iPad at £320. That way you can have the two things you use the most cheaper that the flagship iPhone.

Take a pop into an Apple store if possible and get a feel of those two items in person and i think you will like what you see.
My daughter has the 9.7 inch iPad so I've 'had a play' with that. I think I'd get used to the bigger size for use at home but it's not such a convenient size for travelling. I'm really hoping for a new iPad mini to be released, but don't realistically see that happening, sadly :(
I'm hoping my Nokia Lumia Windows phone will last a few more years yet - I'm going to be gutted when I do have to replace it.(And who knows what iPhones will be available then!) but I do agree with your point and have no intention of buying whatever the newest iPhone is when the time comes :)

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

  • I've never owned an iPhone, I just never 'got' it. I have a phone that cost £50 which enables me to do pretty much the same, minus the decent camera.

But... I pay £12 a month. I work with plenty of people who pay £80+. It's not worth it to me, it obviously is to plenty of other folk.
