Have you checked for the charging problem yet?

I've been reading comments about the charging fault.
I haven;'t yet tried as I've been using Anker wireless charger since iphone8.
I will try xs for testing purposes, though there are a few comments ios 12.1 fixed the fault.
    I'm only on 12.0 since yesterday's setup.

As I am approaching 50 maybe I am out of touch with people who think spending over a grand on a mobile phone is a good idea.

Im trying to think what my 20 year old self would have done, I do remember eagerly awaiting my yearly upgrade of new shiny nokia phone, but that didnt cost a months wages back then.

Also nokia did have a really expensive model or 2, which I didnt go for, so maybe I wouldnt have bought into this outrageous Apple pricing after all.

Good that it's a software issue only then.

Approaching 50 also. Whilst i think £1000+ for a mobile phone is an awful lot of money, i'd probably quite happily spend £1,000+ on the "right" laptop. I get a lot of use out of my laptop, so maybe not such a leap that people who get similar usage out of a mobile phone will spend similar, given its likely to have similar compute power....

My Xs purchase far exceeds what I would have spent on tech.
This is my last mobile upgrade, if it goes past use, then I'll try a less expensive option next time.
Only ipad to possibly upgrade next year or later, thankfully that contract is paid next year and 10,.5 is very fast and stable for home use.

  • The XS Max is apparently having random App and screen freezes, oh dear. At least it's not like it cost a lot to buy...

Surely people that pay that amount of money for a mobile must be embarrassed to be seen with them. I remember when a member of our department sent a message with "sent from my iphone8" everyone was laughing at him. Getting a phone like that out of your pocket is like telling the world you are stupid.
