Hello :coffee:
I've made it to the weekend - barely. I am tearful and stressed and utterly exhausted but I'm here. Bank account looks dire so thank goodness it's only a week until payday.
Welcome ld1980 - hopefully this is the start of the new you. I am getting divorced at the moment and finding it more expensive than I could ever have imagined. However, I got our of debt before and I will do it again somehow.
Not lots to report. Except I am now very curious to find out what a Welsh Cake is - if it has Baileys in it I will definitely like it :rotfl: I'll go and have a look... Hoping for a fairly quiet weekend and desperately looking forward to getting my tellybox fixed. I didn't realise how much I relied on my bedroom telly.

Yes, they are yummy. I have only made the traditional kind (as you say like a cross between a scone and a pancake). They are easy too, and don't take long to make. Wishing I could make some and send to you
Not sure if Natlie would like to share how she makes the much more exciting sounding ones she mentioned?0 -
Are these welsh cakes what my mum calls welsh griddle scones?

Morning all :hello: leisurely morning here as we have no activity this morning for the smalls as we would do normally. DH is working OT so was out early this am. Packed lunch in tow.
Anyone have any experience of a steam mop? Really thinking of getting one as we have white tiles  in the kitchen which aren’t going anywhere soon and they drive me mad as they are always dirty. I have some errands to run and some jobs to do so today will look a bit like this:
Washing pegged out until it rains
Visit a community orchard if I can find one local enough with fruit
Buy paint, will preload a discount card first
Make a lemon drizzle cake
Small shop with list, didn’t go yesterday
Soak chickpeas to make a Thai curry in sc tomorrow
Vacuum through
Long soak in the bath tonight, use up some products
Make welsh cakes
Make flapjack
Have a good day everyone. Purps.0 -

Yes Clf, I've heard others call them dropped scones too.
I've also had chocolate chips ones (switched out the fruit for the chocolate)Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning all, Its very wet and windy here so we're having a day at home.
Today list
Switched dss alarm clock off at the wall for the day, no point in wasting the leccy! done
Breakfast was ys bread for toast done
Checked meter readings and sent to supplier, we've used less then the month last year. done
All meals will be leftovers - beef stew/mash and leek & potatot soup done, wasn't really fancying the stew but actually really enjoyed, it was nice to have something that just needed a quick heat up
Dh wants me to order another travel mug - will continue to research prices as I've seen it so far at amzn for £12.89 and args £20 done, gone with rain forest people as I had a gift card from surveys to put against it plus ordered compatible toothbrush heads, £6 rather then the branded ones I ordered last time for £22, fingers crossed that they're ok!
Rm surveys done & the correctly delivered one done too
Write up kids jobs list for next month as we've agreed a new pocket money plan with them so want to be ready for the new month
Watch a family film under fleece blankets as there is no way I'm putting the heating on yet. done, well not a film we have watched the first episode of lost in space on Netflix, kids seemed to enjoy
I've no idea as yet what else I'll get done, so I'll add more as I go.
Dh's new bank card has come, so I've got him to activate it so that I could then go on to sort out his bank switch will give us a £125 voucher switching incentive. Once the switch is done we'll open him a new regular saver too. - This is going to finally get some paper clutter off my kitchen counter!
Went online to renew library books so that we don't incur any fees later in the week.
Booked gym sessions for the week ahead to make the most of my membership

Morning guys
jeez I feel plum tuckered out at the moment! woke up at 7.50 which is quite unlike me! Day off and madam has gone out with dd and won't be back till 2 so I have a few hours to myself. Think I'm going to have a whiz round and sit down, listen to my audio book and carry on knitting
Small things for the day:
* have just looked at forecast and got a load in. Thanks for the reminder purps! Set to rain at 2 so should partially dry in that time!
* text dd and see if she'll pick up a few school shirts for madam as apparently 4 isn't enough with my inability to manage the washing!
* all meals from stores
* steaks out of the freezer for tea - will do hm chips, tomatoes, onions & mushrooms with them mmmmmm
* have picked a load of tomatoes
* take in 2 pairs of trousers
* might make a pencil skirt with some material I have
* go for a walk with my cheeky chappiegoing to take him to the woods
* probably throw a BNS soup in the pressure cooker - although have 6 portions of soup in the freezer already!
don't know what else but know I need to relax as have been feeling really tired this week.
Hope you all have a lovely SaturdayDF as at 30/12/16
