wish I'd done it weeks ago, but I am no longer under scrutiny and getting treated badly. Need to keep my powder dry the next time....
Have been given my xmas rota - have xmas off but working 31st/1st/2ndcan't complain though all of the days I asked to have off I've been given
Today I have:
* made dinner for tomorrow (love the pressure cooker! 20 mins from start to finish)
* tidied up kitchen and washed up :A (where's my halo???!)
* did some knitting and reading my book during the waiting around times
* made overnight oats for tomorrow
truly pathetic list but that's all for today. Going to listen to audio book & knit and have an early night I think.

Managed to get free box of chocolates from L1dl and a voucher for 5 more weeks and a free product each week. Not sure if it was just that store or if it's across the board. Will check date and if ok, put in Christmas box. More products on my list of cheapest.
Visited a local community orchard but it's only been going a couple of years so not yet. Will look for another for Saturday instead.
Downloaded and app that was recommended on a diary on here and been thinking about pension contributions and where best funds should be to get best bang for my buck so to speak. Not one to resolve today.
Shampoo bar was amazing, let me know how you get on with yours Dawn I did use an apple vinegar rinse as was recommended but hopefully that'll just be for a few weeks.0 -

So.... this is my first ever on such a forum but well i figured it may be time to face up and maybe get some support / advice. So i had the moment tonight.... my debt has built up to £18k and i rang my bank to consolidate it all into one manageable loan and they said no!. I got the talk of shame that they had given me a loan 12months ago and my debt has increased so they wont lend more. i think what makes it worse is I am accountant so i should be good with money right? how has the debt built up the bank asks.... through sticking my head in the sand, buying stuff to make me happy for a few minutes...living a life out of control. Divorced accountant racks up £18k of debt in 4 years...doesnt look good so i keep it to myself. i already have a second job, I work 15+ hours in a hotel. That money so far has treated me to a new boiler and a car. People ask when i am giving the job up as I have no life...i make excuses as i wont admit to the shame of it i feel. I started by putting some of it on a 0% card but as i sit here now i just feel lost,0

Morning
yippee last day at work :j always feel good on the last day of the run
Need to get myself together so I'm not late
purps I'm very interested in your shampoo bar. What make is it?
welcome ld1980 I hope this thread will be as helpful for you as it has been for me and others. I would say try not to feel shame, it isn't a very helpful emotion in my experience. Quite paralysing. Use that energy to channel in to changing your situation. You can't turn back the clock but you can make changes to improve your situation. Most of us on here have felt the daily small little steps we've taken have helped to solve bigger problems. Be kind on yourself always
Today:
* quick shower
* throw already made food into lunch box
* update expenses with yesterday's mileage
* check onepoll? Should have time
* if quiet in the office use the time to start preparing for master's application
* read free kindle book
* need to see if I can figure out where I dropped a stitch on my socks. If not will have to frog it a few rounds
* take diary to work to write in shifts to the new year
Ok that will do! Have a great day everyone :ADF as at 30/12/16

((Hugs)) ld1980, it does sound as though things are hard atm. If I were you, I would start a new thread of your own here on the Debt Free Wannabe board, as other posters, some of whom are extremely knowledgeable, can offer advice on how you can cut down / pay off your bebts quicker. Consolidating is normally advised against, as so many people have done this in the past, and because their habits have remained the same, simply run up the debt again, thereby doubling their original debt by the time interest etc is taken into accountDo stay with us as well, as the 'small things' we do every day are in fact good habits (for the most part) which help with reducing spending and getting or staying out of debt, but you may need help with bigger things as well, and that is where a new thread on this board would help!

Morning all :hello:
Determined if you put shampoo bar coffee in to amaz0n it's the one at the top of the list. I've got an order on the way from https://www.peacewiththewild.co.uk to for some other stuff, including a conditioner bar and they look really good too but already had the shampoo bar which was a gift so even more :money:
My list for today:
Pick some more tomatoes
Go to gym with DH as he's not working today
DH has another physio appointment on insurance, saving £55
Meals from stores
Get a couple of things for new app that I'll get the money back for if I go by the shops
Load of washing done overnight out to dry
Check banking, reconcile just for points cc
Apply for a cc for DH, he doesn't have one so his credit rating is not great as most things are in my name (but he doesn't have any debt either) have found one with an offer that could then be our just for points cc :T
Look for some barginous gifts for some people for Christmas tonight so I can work out what else I need to get without smashing my budget. Also will allow me to work out what I need to make chutney wise.
Check out price of new internal door we need
Pay plasterer.
Have. A good day folks. Purps.0 -
Morning all
Really rough night here, with rain and high winds which kept me awake for part of it, wondering about potential damage it might be causing  But I got up early and everything seems ok in the house and garden, still need to check the camper van parked out the back  Haven't done this yet as I didn't want to show off my pink fluffy dressing gown to the neighbours :rotfl:I've been up for ages, but didn't get dressed earlier as I didn't want to wake OH. He is up now, so must shower and get dressed in a minute!
No damage, which is lucky given all the crashes and bangs I heard last night due to the high winds :T
Today's list looks like this:
Check banks and update spreadsheet Done
Get something out of the freezer for dinner - we are having slightly odd things atm because I am desperate to use up stuff so that I can defrost one of the freezers. This is harder than it sounds, as I am putting home grown fruit and veg in, faster than I am getting other stuff out! I am also trying to avoid shoppng till Sunday, when I can use a voucher that came in the post the other day! Done
Speaking of which, freezer tetris to get tubs of poached quince inDone
Load of washing (at least one load, as the weather is supposed to be good for drying outside today, assuming I can keep the stuff attached to the line!) Done, 2 loads but only one dried outside. Hoping to put the other load (which has only just finished) out tomorrow
Post an ebay itemDone
Write to elderly aunt Oops, not done
Make an olive loaf in the BM, to use up half jar of olives lurking in the fridge Done
Make a soup for lunches for the next couple of days (more stuff out of the freezer!) Done
Update freezer list Done
Somebody is coming to look at another of my (or rather my business's) horrible Victorian pieces that has long been lurking in the garage :j These are relics from the days when it was profitable to buy large boxes of oddments from auctions for selling on. This is no longer the case, but I still have items that were lurking in the bottoms of said boxes 'decorating' shelving in the garage :rotfl: They haven't sold at fairs or in my sales unit, are too fragile and bulky for ebay, but I seem to have found an untapped market for gaudy Victoriana on FB :rotfl:Sold an ugly oil lamp. 2 pairs of hideous vases and a jardiniere stand reputedly going tomorrow :T
OK, better get on with some of it! Hope everyone has a good day0 -
Morning Friday Frugalistas,
Am vertical, have applied caffiene & hopefully will be able to function sufficiently to do the following small things. I'm not sleeping well because of all the stress with Mum, despite being knackered from all the hospital visiting (140-mile round trip). Overnight, the crazy gales woke me up so the knackeredness continues. Anyway.....enough.....here's my list:
*Clean house using minimal products & washable cloths.
*Tackle my stairbasket, esp any financial filing. I will need to be away for a few days soon & I don't want to miss anything.
*Bake a granary loaf.
*Write next week's meal plans in my bullet diary.
*Write shopping list.
*Do grocery shopping (3 shops plus market).
*Park on outskirts of town & walk in. This saves a decent amount in parking fees over a month).
*Check sweetcorn again for ripeness & pick courgettes if necessary.
*Gather windfall apples & pears. Bound to be some from the gales.
*Sign up to council garden waste bin scheme. Current garden project producing too much stuff that is unsuitable for home composting.
*Knit
*Read library book.
*Tackle weeds in front drive without buying chemicals. Will use kettles of boiling water & salt. Problem weed is oxalys. Awful stuff for spteading like crazy.
*See if there are any offers on my new favourite cleanser. Fab stuff. I bought some to try on a 2 for 1 offer, so I know it is sometimes discounted.
Ok, will go & get bread dough mixed up & make a start.

messaged the Coop on FB this morning as I bought a flat bread from my local one last night and when I got home I realised it was two days out of date! It was fine and we ate it for dinner but not great that it was still on the shelf! They were very apologetic and have asked for my address, hope to receive a wee something in the post soon!0
