ahhhh shucks! Thanks :D Feeling good for it, but having to take in quite a few things - oh the problems I have :rotfl:
:T:rotfl: I on the other hand am just sampling a biscuit recipe I'd book marked ages ago from another thread on here, very nice but if I eat anymore I will have to have my clothing altered in the other direction!
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
  • SO busy :D
Welcome to new posters :hello: love to all that need
DNMS - well done on the weightloss, it's a nice problem to have - taking all of your clothes in.
CLF - sounds like a nightmare with whatever predicament you've been put into - hope it all gets sorted.
I am massively busy. I have had a non stop day at work. Again. And had to bring marking home.
Also my tellybox has broken after 5 short months since I got it. I spent well over an hour on the phone to Sky for them to tell me I need an engineer to come and install a new box. However - I did discuss my other issues with subscription costs while I had a really helpful lad on the phone, and he has managed to rid me of Sky Sports and save me £17 a month. Complaint no longer required - just a lot of praise for someone willing to go above and beyond to try and help me.
Need to see my solicitor again (more expense) so have arranged an appointment for next week - it feels hectic again.

    Hey All

Hope everyone having a good week so far, and sending hugs to anyone struggling

CLF I love the drawstring bag idea but a) my crochet knowledge is based only around all you can make from a granny square, and b) no more projects allowed until current ones completed :-) I have saved the pattern for future reference so thank you. How did your glove dilemma turn out in the end?

Spent today at work and had a rare evening out for food with OH to avoid the general scene of chaos at home - now camped out upstairs, normal service hopefully resuming tomorrow.

    So tomorrows jobs are:
    • 8-2 at work, hopefully come home to new floor
    • Lunch from stores
    • Go to gym / shower / swim etc
    • Move piles of living room stuff back in and put away
    • Cook healthy dinner from ingredients in fridge
    • Continue with crochet project
    • Swagbucks
    • Set alarm for Thursday - usually my day off but am working a shift on a new area with the potential of moving there permanently in future, must remember they start at 7.30 not 8

    Hi September Savers,

    Morning!:coffee:Away but keeping the faith:

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    * Took two water bottles everywhere with us and refill and chill regularly instead of buying in local cafes.

    * Visited local, large supermarket. Am keeping a tally of how much we are spending on food. Bought some bargain price local fish and sausages,

    * Walked around harbour. Did not buy anything to eat there. Must've walked past 30 restaurants.

    * Lovely free sunset walk and photogra-faff. Now watching the starts, moon and Mars.

    * Handwashed some garments instead of using laundrette.

    To be continued....

Things don't have to be perfect to be wonderful.

  • I need to restructure my time so I give myself time to post that days aims and again later to catch up with everyone and report on my day.

Today went as expected, with the exception that dd enthusiasticly did her maths, she was accurate and didn't waste any time. I wish this would happen more than just once in a blue moon. She is more than capable of doing this every day, but much prefers to moan, distract herself, not try, refuse help. Which is frustrating as I know she can do it.

    Morning folks!

    Big hugs to everyone :)

lpp - glad you are feeling better

ccl - I think I made it sound a bit dramatic as I was in a nark... essentially, someone promised to drive someone somewhere on the other side of the country, stay overnight, then drive them back. I did say at the time that perhaps a different solution would be preferable as ill health was likely to scupper this plan but my concerns were dismissed. Fast forward a month and suddenly OH and I have been asked to do this trip due to ill health
We would just say no, but it would be a big disappointment as the mission is to deliver a child to a competition that they have managed to do well in and I would hate to let them down as it isn't their fault.

ellie - if you can crochet a granny square, you can crochet anything :) just a different arrangement of the same stitches! I am going to try out the glove over the weekend I hope although my parents are coming up  so I may not have time

Decided to go out for some tea last night but we were very restrained and just had a main course. Knew we would end up out for tea as OH still hasn't realised that food doesn't magically appear. In fact his recent habit is to just turn round to me and ask "what's for tea?". I pointed out that this enrages me as what I hear is "although we are both adults and you are at work all day, I have decided not to take any responsibility for what we eat and I expect you to". My answer is often "well if you don't know, why should I?".

Ok, I need to be less narky. *adopts lotus position*

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores (I had better decide what is for tea ;) )
    • Gym at lunchtime - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Take weekly meter readings - done
    • Washing on 30 degrees - done
    • Washing out on line
    • Poss crochet glove
    • Use up/freeze some bits that are knocking about in the fridge
    • Think about electricity saving measures. The kitchen lightbulbs are in my sights. Not sure if they are halogen, LED or a mixture of both. My energy fix ended. I have re-fixed but obs the prices have gone up. It is estimating an elec cost for September of £48 as opposed to August's price of £38. I know it would go up in September but not that much!
    Have a good one all

  • Morning all :hello: no time to post yesterday as I worked all evening after long day in the office. Plus side means I have a couple of days off to do what I want :j

    Today:
Volunteer for charity for a couple of hours
Check banking, over some money to get pay in bonus
Move some money to cover a payment
Make malt loaf in BM using last of malt extract, washed jar as it has lovely wide neck for refilling
Hm loaf for breakfast as toast
Something out of freezer for tea
Clean new plaster off window and vacuum floor to get rid of as much dust as possible
Go out for lunch with DH - not DFW but much needed as a treat
DH has Physiotherapy session on our insurance so £55 saved :D
Sweep through rather than getting the vacuum out
Decide what I'm going to do tomorrow

Have a good day everyone. Purps.
