NSD 15 in the bag.
Need to shop today. Boo! Don't want to, stamps foot and sticks out bottom lip.
It was dark when I got up this morning. I love that so much. It got chilly (according to DH - wuss-) last night, so I lit the candles and the living room warmed up a treat. Made sure the thermostat was turned down to five degrees. Not having the heating coming on if the house is cold and empty!! No! If it feels cold it can go on manually for an hour. Not setting the timer yet. It is not October. Militant!!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD yesterday - spent the morning at work, did a couple of bits at home in afternoon and then fell asleep on sofa after collecting DS3 from school (had a poor night's sleep but my energy levels are super low atm) DS3 was meant to have Cubs last night (take parent(s) to cake and coffee evening in aid of Mcm1llan) but he didn't want to go and neither did I, tbh. So we stayed in and I have added some extra bits to my foodbank donation bag this morning to sort-of compensate
Had leftovers for dinner last night and used up another small/ hotel bittle of s'poo this morning. Also recycled a pair of socks with a hole in heel (worn through - so counts as using up)
2 loads of washing line dried in the Autumnal sun yesterday. Another just finishing in the machine at the mo and will hang out shortly. Lots of ironing to do tonight when watching H0lby (will keep me warm)
Thankful for: the chance to nap on sofa yesterday (OH was working from home, so smallest 2 were still ok), pretty pink sedums in flower in my garden (look fab in the Autumnal light), sunshine (even if it's chilly the blue skies look lovely), a beautiful sunset last night, getting lots of leg0 cards in a swap for my boys.
Today's plans…. cleaning the hob (may have lots of splashes of sticky red wine over it from poaching pears....), tidying/ inventorying the freezer (now the 2 students are at uni and have taken half the contents with them....), ditto fridge, cleaning kitchen sides and floor, ironing (eventually), listing some things on flebay and fb00k. And some other even less exciting stuff!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

NSD 16/20
Ticked everything off the list today. Packing is complete and I've made the final adjustments to the Tesco order. Booked a table in a little Italian restaurant in Edinburgh for Friday night. We've been there before. It's cheap, has nice food and is just around the corner from our hotel.
Tomorrow I have to give the house a clean and let the neighbours know I'm away for three weeks (they keep an eye on things for me and the little girl a few doors down is going to water my plants).
Tonight's dinner is sausage casserole. Just waiting to find out if Himself is going out tomorrow to decide about Wednesday and Thursday but not too many perishables to be used up.
Don't think I've forgotten anything.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Apple - I don't remember and can't find any mention of anyone volunteering for Oct?
Today is another NSD. Some of to-do list achieved, some moved to tomorrow (mopping kitchen and hall floors...) Another sunny, bright day - beautiful Autumn weather - chill start to the morning and then warmed up lovely!
Today I am thankful for: line dried washing, catch up tv, DS1's parcel arriving safely (OH posted it yesterday morning), using up random oddments to make a meal, getting things sorted to leave the house (whether sold or donated)I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Today I am grateful for my counsellor, for buses, for sunshine, for bumping into a friend on the bus, for my knitting, for doing some sewing up, for dh looking after me, for dd getting a party invite for Fri, for getting some savoury baking done.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Set your budgets now. Have done this.
NSDs – 17/20 Was a spend day. Brought some treats again. Brought another swimsuit online. Not feeling guilty about that as I will be using it for swimming. Good for my health. Will be collecting it this Saturday in store - no cost for delivery.
Spread some sunshine – Asked lady at florist about some flower arrangement for Mum's grave, regarding notice. It will help her to plan and order the necessary artificial flowers and to do the arrangement.
Healthy eating – Need to be more mindful with what I am eating. Did have a treat today.
Invest in yourself. Did wordsearch, mindfulness colouring, read some of a book and watching some good entertaining programmes/film this evening. First day for a while that I have not played any games on the computer. Must continue to not playing the games.
No spending on takeaways, drinks out, etc unless prearranged and budgeted for. Try to find free activities to do. Was naughty as I went to the chip shop.
Exercise - Walked to and from the chip shop, about 15 minutes each way.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Set your budgets - done, only a few £s left in purse but payday is on Thursday
Use up - some very brown bananas into banana loaf

Sunshine - took my gran shopping today so she could stock up with food
Healthy eating - hmm to-do
Invest - annual leave from work at moment, had a lovely weekend away to Edinburgh with OH, lots of sleep, plenty of reading
No spending - spent a lot on food out at the weekend but all budgeted for
Exercise - lots of walking around at the weekend, not much since we got backMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Hey!
Another busy day - not a nsd. I spent £1.76 on tinned fish to try and hide cat medicine. One of my cats has arthritis, and it's becoming difficult getting her to take her medication, and she's starting to avoid me all of the time because she knows I'm going to force medicine into her. I was talking to the vet when I popped in for the prescription and she suggested really stinky fish to hide the medicine in. Hasn't worked so far - I put the treat plate down and my Tuxy ran away, while the others started surrounding me trying to get their share of the fish. It's in the fridge now - waiting for her to come back and I'll try again.
Busy day at work.
Then phone appointment with my solicitor. The total amount of debt I'll be taking on is starting to take shape and it's scary. The financial order is all in place now, waiting to be signed and go to court so hopefully things will start moving again soon - solicitor is also going to chase the divorce papers as he thinks that is taking longer than it should. At least I'll know where I stand financially, and will be ready to start again on my own.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi everyone,
Hope you're all keeping warm. Definitely chillier this morning and the towel rail was on in the bathroom this morning which was nice.
Work is getting a bit busier and the people are nice, so I'm a bit happier this week. Have a couple of perm jobs to apply for, so need to get on with those as one closes on Monday.
In terms of update:
S - Paid some money over to the Christmas savings budget tonight. DH gets paid Thursday and me on Friday but despite being overdrawn, it's only a couple of quid in interest. Will hopefully be out of overdraft by November.
U - Used up a leek with dinner and the last of the lettuce leaves for my lunch.
N - Had to buy veg today, but got for tonight and tomorrow nights tea - good thinking batman. Currently on 7/15.
S - Have a stack of Leg0 cards for nephew and will hand them over on Saturday.
H - Lovely beetroot and cottage cheese salad for lunch, banana, apple and satsumas for snacks and salmon, jacket pot, asparagus, leeks and mini corn for tea.
I - Had a bath at 8.50pm last night as DH went over to see BIL and I was cold. Snuggled up on the sofa afterwards to mooch on the boards.
N - No takeaways planned or bought this month.
E - Had a look at gyms but don't think I can justify the £25 monthly fee. Off peak is £18 but limited to weekends and weekdays from 9pm-midnight so not ideal for me. Thank you for the tip lcc86 I will take a look.
Have a good evening all.
