    Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is managing to keep warm. Temperature has definitely dropped and I’m wearing a wool twinset today (no pearls lol). Still feeling sad about pup and my morning routine of letting him out in the garden, feeding him and clearing up after him(!) has gone now. Forgot to have breakfast this morning so had to eat my packed lunch banana mid morning.

    Updates as follows:
S – All up to date. Realised DH put the vet bill on a 0% card we applied for when I was out of work. This was for emergencies so at least he listened! All admin for that card is online and I realised the log on name is our dogs name  Will be reminded of this every time I log on now  
U – Packed lunch from stocks. Will have Chicken, Potato and Kale bake for dinner (SW recipe)
N – 7/15 – no hope of reaching that target but will try my best. Will need veg tomorrow.
S – Ironed a shirt and tshirt for DS1 this morning as he’s off on holiday later today. This is probably why I forgot to have breakfast doh!
H – Beetroot, fat free cottage cheese, lean ham and lettuce for lunch today. Really tasty. Had satsumas for my afternoon snack.
I – Hoping for a lovely bubble bath and an earlyish night tonight plus read more of my book.
N – None this month yet and none planned.
E – Step count fail yesterday although did manage 13k on Saturday. Thinking of going back to running – I used to run 5k on the treadmill at the gym twice a week, plus parkrun on a weekend. All went out of the window as my old job was all-consuming. This job however…..Need to look at prices and see whether I can afford it. Not sure I want to be running in the dark and cold so gym the only option. Luckily we have five within easy walking distance of home.

Hope you all have a good day,
    Coxy

  • Telly fixed. Much better night of sleep. :j Bodyguard finale was excellent!

Then today was just non stop from the second I woke up until about 10 minutes ago. One of those days unfortunately, and the rest of the week looks just as busy. Thankfully the end of the month, and therefore payday, is in sight. September has felt like the longest month for ages!

Bagged a nsd. and found space in the freezer for milk that isn't going to be used any time soon.
Other than that, too busy to be frivolous.
  • Grateful today for some blue sky, for a good positive meeting, for nice pupils, for my pull up bar to hang off and stretch out my back, for my santa knitting, for dd doing her hwk before I got home from work, for dh doing a wash and hanging it up to dry, for a few more rasps, for not spending any pennies.

  • Hi

Sorry I've been AWOL again, crazy busy with just me & the boys.

Budgets are completely empty , thank goodness there's just a few more days to go. :j

Took the kids to a fun day on Saturday, with free face painting & balloons which was good. The boys loved it & all i spent was parking & a couple of quid for some lunch which I bought from the bakery. Ny son was asked to go on stage for the magic show & it made his day.

Still trying to spread some sunshine, took eggs round to our neighbour before & tomorrow Im taking my work mate some wellies my son has grown out of :A

I will catch up properly with posts tomorrow

Coxy I'm not sure where you're based but the gym group have some really reasonably priced memberships and they don't tie you in. Hope you're coping without the pup, I always remember how empty my house felt without animals, I'm a real sucker for them.

NSD number 15 here, was on the go pretty much all day at work. Sadly this isn't a regular occurrence which is a big reason why I decided to leave. Did manage to fill out my new starter paperwork today though so can get the ball rolling. Came home and one of my house bunnies has an upset tum so will have to keep an eye overnight, if he's still bad tomorrow I'll have to pop him to the vet. I think I gave them too many treats over the weekend, I'm hoping that's all it is. Still no resolution on the tap issue, left a couple of messages with plumbers but no response.
  • A long but productive day. Mum and I met as arranged in th doctor's surgery after she had been to her foot appointment. Doctor has given me antibiotics and my flu jab. He made a couple of adjustments to mum's prescription after reading the letter from mum's specialist. Also said he could give mum her flu jab at 1pm if she would come back then.

Persuaded mum that this was a good idea, sat in the sunshine for a while, left mum there whilst I walked (slowly and cautiously with lots of stops to rest) to post 2 letters for mum and buy a loaf and a few bits she needed.

Completely out of puff so caught the bus back to the infirmary. We collected our prescriptions and I went for the baked potatoes I had ordered earlier (not ready until noon). Went inside to eat then went back upstairs 15 minutes before the appointment as mum had a few layers to take off. Doctor was having his lunch behind the reception desk but left it and came to do mum's jab.

Phoned for a taxi back to mum's (lunch and sitting in the sunshine was a lot cheaper and less stressful than taxi to mum's, eating then getting another taxi back or having taxis both ways next week when our original appointment was.

Gentle restful afternoon working on the jigsaw then I sewed whilst mum was having her nails done - girl phoned to say the previous appointment had finished early. Made food for us both, watched tv and came home.

Technically I have spent money but mum will reimburse me tomorrow (I have to withdraw some money for her).

Today I am grateful for lovely weather (bit chilly but lovely when we were sitting in the sun), for saving myself a journey next week and for the antics of small children in the surgery - one little boy was obviously trying to work out which adults would play with him and be his friend (sizing people up, seeing if the made eye contact or returned his smiles).

    Hi all:j

Late again today but otherwise will miss another day, very busy & not able to get onto computer later on as so much else to do....boo

Been out this afternoon so not an NSD but did have one yesterday

Have visitors tomorrow (non animal sort) & kitten just caught a mouse...honestly he's not 8 months old. None of our other cats ever caught any mice, but one did used to bring frogs in, which was kind of worse..

Set your budgets now. Pay to your debts/savings first and live off the rest. Make sure you're on the best deals for utilities, phones, broadband, etc. Are there any areas in your budget that you could cut down on? Will go through budget again & see where savings could be made. Haven't caught up with DD yet but will do after tomorrow.

Need to Use up. Have a look through your cupboards and identify any food that's been lurking there for a while and incorporate it into a meal plan. Likewise toiletries, any half opened bottles - use before opening/buying more. Lunch was from stores but tea was eaten out for a change. Lots of YS bargains to be had today, fridge full to bursting.

NSDs - there are 30 days in September so a minimum of 15 or 20 for a harder challenge. Usual exemptions for ys items, petrol and medical expenses. Now 11/15

Spread some sunshine - be kind to others, help out friends, neighbours, colleagues and strangers. Share your tales of any random acts of kindness. Phone call from retailer concerned, very apologetic & stated unacceptable length of time for gift to arrive. Will refund my postage charge - & send uncle a gift to compensate...yippee!

Healthy eating - up your fruit and veg intake, quit snacking between meals or choose healthier options. Not today.

    Invest
in yourself. Make sure you take the time to do things that you enjoy. Try something new that you've always wanted to do. Enjoyed having a short time out of the house, even if some of it was shopping. Lovely meal out too.

No spending on takeaways, drinks out, etc unless prearranged and budgeted for. No takeaways today.

Try to find free activities to do. Will do.

Exercise - it won't be long before the darker nights start drawing in so make the most of it while you can. Get outdoors for walk/run/cycle even if only for 10 minutes. Out today with animals, only for 10 mins though. Vets appt tomorrow for girl doggie, hope he will be happy with progress.

  • Morning! Good to see the sunshine back, will be getting some more washing out before I head to work. Heating kicked in this morning . Must get DH to adjust the thermostat back down, it's up to 21C which is too warm for me.

I ended up buying coffee yesterday, but still claiming as a NSD as it was due to my trains all being stuck and I'm claiming back my ticket which should cover the costs. So 12/15. Will need to spend today as need a few top up shop bits and cat food. Cat is looking so much better on his expensive princess food but it means a schlep to the pet shop.

Sunshine: shared snacks and chatted when I finally made it on a train.

Budgets are looking healthy but I'm only four days in to my pay month :rotfl:. Determined to let some money age in my account this month rather than struggling to balance the books or going into the OD.
