    Hi everyone,
Thank you for all the well wishes. DH and DD took pup and they gave him a sedative so he was lying on the blanket with his tongue sticking out, which made DD chuckle through her tears. All very peaceful and when I got home from London last night, DH had taken everything doggie out of the house (beds, toys, bowls) so there wasn't a reminder. Feels very quiet here this morning :(

The vet bill came in at £140 which obviously wasn't in the budget, but credit card bill finished on Friday so the vet bill will be on next month's. Really heavy rain here which means the car boot I'd planned to sell at has been cancelled. Probably just as well as I had a late night. I have everything clean and ready to go in the spare room so fingers crossed it'll run next Sunday.

Hope all the poorlies are on the mend and hugs to those with worries xx

    Toni'sFriend - I agree with dolly.
CCL - hope your get the TV box fixed today.

    Have a good day all,
    Coxy

Spends today on g-pig straw (hadn't been told we were low (or out of it as at last night) so I also picked up some food for them whilst at (local, independent small) pet shop. Also bought DS1 a small leather wallet/ cardholder from N*xt (which is a small out of town one and opposite Tesc0, so about 1.5miles from our house) as the one he has is too big to fit in most of his jeans pockets.... not the best situation now he's being (sort of) independent. Was £12, which I thought was a good price for it. I was sending him a parcel anyway (couple of small things we hadn't thought of - they give you a lanyard, but no card holder and if you punch your ID it doesn't work to scan you in/ out, a large USB stick (already have a spare one here and he only took a couple of small ones), the 3 pkts of prawn cocktail crisps in the multipack we bought (he's the only one who likes that flavour, so may as well include them), another pair of PJs (he took 2 x short sleeved ones and 1 x long, so am sending a pair with snuggly bottoms and a long sleeved top), another usb plug thing and a pair of fluffy socks which he left behind. OH can post it whilst I'm at work and use RM survey stamps :)

  • Thank you all for the advice. I agree. I don't have the energy and I don't want to get involved with the family again. Apart from anything else I don't think it would be fair on Himself. So, if she does get in touch again I'll explain this to her nicely and leave it up to her if sh'ed like to contact me occasionally be email. I honestly don't want any more than that.

Coxy - Really sorry about your wee dog. Sending you lots of hugs.

F0xh0les - I thought I had weird dreams!!!!!. You do cheer me up and make me laugh.

    Today was NSD 14/20.

I've done some cooking to use up anything perishable and all the washing and ironing is done. Bags almost packed - just get to collect some medicine. Going out for lunch tomorrow as we have a voucher to use up before we go away. List of things to sort out before we go but nothing major. I really can't wait to get away. It seem like ages since we last went on holiday but it hasn't been really.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Not a NSD here, took myself out for breakfast, had a bit of a disagreement with OH and just wanted to go out. Went out riding which was the perfect antidote, although the leg is pretty sore now. Can't sit around forever just need to crack on. Currently trying to peel myself off the sofa to go and have a bath...
  • Today I am grateful for big sis +niece staying over last night, for a surprise phone call from MIL, for substantial brollies, for hot blackcurrant squash, for more santa knitting, for hugs from dd.

Today I am thankful for: using food up from the fridge/ freezer/ cupboard to make a yummy meal, a fun family game, the fact DS1 is ok, someone wanting to buy something I advertised on fbook a couple of months ago and then forgot about :), arranging via fbook to swap some of the Leg0 cards from Sains with someone who only lives 1/2 mile away :D, getting the ironing done!

Hugs to coxy and family, it is the right decision.

Toni'sfriend limiting contact to e-mail sound good.

Yesterday went well. It was still damp but not raining and the new firepit (only a basic one, not the death star one or the elaborate hand forged ones they keep hoping to win) turned up mid-afternoon.

My sons were well- behaved, no-one fought, DS1 took time to talk with DS3 and listen to his future game-making plans rather than doing the 'when are you going to get a proper job, stop sponging off mum (he isn't) and what are you going to do if she dies' rant. DS3 won the tallest person in the room contest by an inch. Watched the wedding video several times and managed to bag a seat in the middle of one of the big comfy sofas for most of the time.

There were only 4 of us in the 8 seater minibus (+ driver and his young son) but it was fine as DS2 and DS3 could both use the extra leg- room and we had multiple bags of soft drinks. Bunting was well received, food was absolutely fabulous (DS1 cooked, new wife put chairs together, I brought those boys up right) company good. Went to bed when I got in and mostly been here since.

Lots of sleeping (tired but warm and cosy tired not stretched wire thin tired) and am going to go into hibernation (as far as I can) until Christmas now. Went downstairs once for wraps, sandwich filling - Beloved had already asked what was up with them - knife, spoon, 2l bottle of from the tap, tiny strawberries and yoghurt.

I am supposed to be meeting mum at the doctor's tomorrow morning. She has a foot appointment, I feel better than I was but still dizzy, weak as a kitten, chest is wheezy so better see the doctor (if I need antibiotics, need to take them before next week's flu jab appointment). If I can get organised, I will take a book and some sewing and go back with mum for at least part of the day (nice and peaceful). + new jigsaw to do. Rock and roll lifestyle or what.

Today I am grateful for all my sons getting on (tolerating from a distance is fine by me), for DS3 agreeing to the purchase of new clothes (I offered him them the Christmas before last but now the amateur thief stole his good jeans - amateur because they walked past a £1000 laptop just to steal the jeans) and for lovely weather today - not made the most of it but blue sky and little fluffy clouds are always pleasant.

  • Coxy it's a loving and responsible decision to make as a pet owner, sad as it is to let them go.

CCL hope you got a better night's sleep.

Spendy day here yesterday, but I finally got the spring bulbs I wanted. Some bluebells and snowdrops forvthe shaded mini front garden, narcissi, muscari, iris and tulips for the back. We had a brief break in the rain so made a start on the front. Previous occupants put down black plastic covered in gravel so lots of work to do. Hope something grows. It wiped out my fun money for the week but it will be worth it!

Have also restarted YNAB, hoping not to get charged multiple times...

NSDs 11/15 I think, hoping to make target this month. Budgets looking healthier than last month but still not much wriggle room.

Have a great week all :)

Set your budgets - all still within budget, may have an excess, but i have just discovered Magnum Almond vegan icecreams. If I have an excess I will be buying more. (gluten free, dairy free, soya free) in the supermarket beginning with T.
Use up. Using up all freezer stuff which is currently in the fridge defrosted - will make 2 meals. Lost my £5 M&S voucher, as it went ood yesterday. boo! Will have to start using them instead of losing them.
    NSDs – 14/20 - cannot make 20 but might make 18 or 19.
Spread some sunshine – made DH laugh so hard he nearly died.
Healthy eating – not hungry due to the head cold, which is much better today, thank you.
Invest - cleaned whole house and hoovered, washed bathroom floor. knackered now.
No food bought from outside the house
Exercise - as above, cleaned the house (top to back room dumping ground door) and hoovered all floors, cleaned bathroom and washed bathroom floor. Moved furniture about a bit more. Knackered now. 2nd lemon flavoured paracetamol based drink of the day, and will think about writing the list of shopping for the week, but it might not happen today. I fear I may have peaked too early.

If I did not have kids I would go back to bed. But I do have kids, and an after school club for one of them, so I am not going to bed.

I also appear to have mislaid a double duvet. Any suggestions? I only have one last possible place to look (unlikely) which I will do now. Otherwise I will have to buy another one. Whilst turning out the airing cupboard (did that too) I seem to have found a surplus 4 single duvets. Plus the one on DS3s bed = 5. I am now properly confused. We only have one single bed in the house....
