Spent half the day sleeping on and off. Only spends were by Oh and were medicinal for me (chloraseptic throat spray and more strepsils) so NSD maintained. Have eaten a small chicken roll with some coleslaw and a choc mousse. Just about to dose myself up and take myself off to bed ready for a busy day tomorrow.

Thankful for - OH getting the throat spray, OH doing school runs and swimming lessons, and also that I still managed to get a loaf baked, 2 trays of potatoes roasted and 3 crumbles made - and then I needed a nap again! :D

    Hi all:j

Big hugs to all the poorlies, hope you are soon better!

Not a lot done inside or outside today as heavy rain from lunchtime which is still continuing....decided to change plans for trip out to one under cover..

Set your budgets now. Pay to your debts/savings first and live off the rest. Make sure you're on the best deals for utilities, phones, broadband, etc. Are there any areas in your budget that you could cut down on? Will go through budget again & see where savings could be made. Went to switch docs & despite saying the switch has gone through, it is saying there is a problem. Jeez I sorted this out a couple of weeks ago, or thought I had. Tried to book a call back but couldn't get one till tomorrow afternoon at 3.30pm. At this point lost the will to live...

Use up. Have a look through your cupboards and identify any food that's been lurking there for a while and incorporate it into a meal plan. Likewise toiletries, any half opened bottles - use before opening/buying more. Lunch was from fridge & LO burger for DD. Ate out this evening but doughnut from freezer for DH.

NSDs - there are 30 days in September so a minimum of 15 or 20 for a harder challenge. Usual exemptions for ys items, petrol and medical expenses. Still 8/15
Spread some sunshine - be kind to others, help out friends, neighbours, colleagues and strangers. Share your tales of any random acts of kindness. Tried to be kind to DH instead of rowing with him when he was in a foul mood..worked better tbh.

Healthy eating - up your fruit and veg intake, quit snacking between meals or choose healthier options. Definitely not.

Invest in yourself. Make sure you take the time to do things that you enjoy. Try something new that you've always wanted to do. Hoped to enjoy trip out but weather dreadful & motorway driving a nightmare. At least we were not in the 8 mile tailback coming the other way:eek:

No spending on takeaways, drinks out, etc unless prearranged and budgeted for. Prearranged meal out today, but did get 10% off with voucher.

Try to find free activities to do. Will do.

Exercise - it won't be long before the darker nights start drawing in so make the most of it while you can. Get outdoors for walk/run/cycle even if only for 10 minutes. Only exercise today was walking round outlet store, soon got bored with that. .

    Go Turtles!!
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear

Planned spend day (phew!!) much needed.
Only really have pittas and wraps left in freezer - it needs defrosting, my kids cannot close a door. I expect to see penguins have moved in every time I open it. So running it down over the weekend + major thermal attack planned before Monday.
So most of the fridge is empty too. I feel anxious!!

    So still on NSD 12.

This sore throat/cough thing is yuck, I am bored of it now. Can someone just ask it to leave? bored bored bored.

    Onwards!!!!

  • Hi Turtles,

    Sorry I've been AWOL.

Busy week with hub away & the two littlies & work. littlest has not been sleeping & I have been exhausted. few days off now at least :D

Set budgets-- I have £24 left in the bank & a week to go. I have set my budgets for October already. Done a bit of xmas shopping so that xmas doesn't hit us hard & budgeted for the few things Ive left to buy.

Use up- used chicken last night for fajitas.
NSDs today is #9. Just window cleaner to pay. Need to get to 10 by Sunday.
Spread some sunshine- looking after my friends little girl for her.
    Healthy Eating- always trying
Invest in yourself- planning a chilled day
    No take away- nope
Excersize- trying but hard with two toddlers
  • Finally at 10/15 NSDs, mainly because I am down with the flu and can't get out of the house!

Have gritted my teeth and re-signed up for YNAB, managed to get another free month (yay!) and have had a pleasurable hour or so fiddling with the budget now that I've been paid. I do find YNAB so much easier, and I've already budgeted for the renewal so all good.

Also bingeing on the YNAB podcast while slowly getting a few bits done after being stuck in bed for Three. Whole. Days. So fed up of lying down that even the dusting is looking interesting.
  • NSD 12/20

The Boy arrived last night with a big bag full of tee shirts for the charity chop. Most have never been worn. I've given them a quick iron and I'll take them there next week.

Made pork chilli for dinner tomorrow.

Other than that I've been a bit lazy today.

    Have a nice weekend.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Today would have been my first payday from the new temping job but I have given the agency the wrong account number, the last digit was wrong so they have sent my pennies elsewhere - got to wait for them to get it back now. Good job I don't need the money for day to day living.

    Hi everyone,

I didn’t manage to get on at work yesterday due to problem with IP address not being fixed. Work has been a little busier these past few days. I’ve been asked to admin a board meeting in October as someone is on long-term sick leave. Slightly scary but I’ve time to get my head around things before then.

Sorry to hear of the poorlies – hope you’re on the mend soon. Lots of folks off with colds at work so I’m keeping myself to myself – don’t want the lurgy thanks very much!

Hope the storms didn’t cause too much damage. One of our garden chairs was on the lawn this morning, but other than that no damage, thank goodness.

    Updates as follows:
S – All up to date. First pay day today (weekly in arrears). Still going to be overdrawn this, and possible next month, but that’s life.
U – Used up sandwich filler this morning for DS1 packed lunch. Also brought in a carrot cut into batons, to form part of my lunch, which was delicious if a bit loud. Dinner will be from stores in the main (sweet chilli chicken thighs, rice and veg).
N – NSD yesterday so currently on 6/15 – probably won’t hit my target as today I need to buy veg for dinner and tomorrow will be the weekly shop.
S – SW last night – whooped with joy at someone getting their 7.5 stone award. Unfortunately I put on a pound but determined to turn things around this week.
H – Took a couple of plums to work yesterday and they were still hard, so caused me no end of bellyache last night. In fact, I didn’t have any dinner as SW went on until 9.30pm and by then I didn’t fancy anything. Fruit for breakfast this morning and had a healthy ham and lettuce sandwich, carrots and a mullerlight for lunch today.
I – Seeing some good friends tomorrow (going to First Dates restaurant) so will invest in good chatter and a nice meal with them.
N – None this month yet and none planned.
E – Managing to do around 13k steps on average so happy with that. Will try to go for a walk tomorrow before going for lunch.

Hope you all had a good day,
    Coxy

  • Hugs to those not feeling well at the moment.
Set your budgets now. Have done this.
Use up. Done this today. Wrote list of things that I need to get tomorrow. Just need to do a top up.
NSDs – 16/20 Was an NSD today.
    Spread some sunshine –
Healthy eating – Need to be more mindful with what I am eating. Did ok today.
Invest in yourself. Did wordsearch, mindfulness colouring, reading, watching some episodes of a programme that I like and chilled out. Had a lovely relaxing bath. Still need to work on not playing the computer games.
No spending on takeaways, drinks out, etc unless prearranged and budgeted for. Try to find free activities to do.
Exercise - Did not venture out today as I was waiting for a parcel. Unfortunately it did not come. Was expecting it to arrive today.
