Happy Birthday, Coxy. Don't worry too much. Nobody ever remembers my birthday. It's the week before Christmas!
Well done on the run, Lauren. I'm greatly impressed.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Well done on the run laurenh1, I wish I could do something like that! And happy birthday coxy :bdaycake:
Today was a NSD. I had to pay for parking at the chiropractor but I count that as a medical expense so I wing it as a NSD
Filled out paperwork for my injury claim today, decided that whatever I get I'll give some to my parents as they have had a tough time with car repairs and what not in recent months. Also found a local cheap gym which I can get even cheaper as I'm a student so I think once I'm back on my feet I'll invest in that as I'm barely exercising at the moment.0 -
Well done lauren on doing the run.:j
Happy birthday coxy.
And well done coxy and dolly on yourfirst days :T
Today I am grateful for being well enough for work, for dd having a good day, for getting some fresh air, for getting my marking done, for planning to rest as much as I can tomorrow.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Happy birthday, coxy.
Caught up with most things I didn't do yesterday. Ironing, made soup, some salad prep for lunch, made chicken pie with lo roast chicken for dinner and organised my flour and cereal into the storage containers that arrived today. My mind /head is in a much better place now. Now a quick read before bed and I'll see you tomorrow.
Need to remember to update my budgets and SFD count.....DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Hi all:j
More work done outside, got incinerator going & got rid of paperwork & lots of garden rubbish, still plenty more to do but cleared a large space in 'wild' ie rough garden. Pointed out lots of other pruning that DH can help with. Then tree surgeon called round - he has a cancellation so can come Wednesday - we have a protected tree at the front overhanging the road so we have to get permission before any work is done, & it takes a long time so pleased about this. Also he is charging about half what we expected, so lots of chocolate biscuits for the workers need getting in..
Set your budgets now. Pay to your debts/savings first and live off the rest. Make sure you're on the best deals for utilities, phones, broadband, etc. Are there any areas in your budget that you could cut down on? CC statement is pretty scary so lots of items will be going back, just need to get them packed up - confusing as they sent the wrong item, wrong size in the right package with the right invoice, need to get that sorted out.
Use up. Have a look through your cupboards and identify any food that's been lurking there for a while and incorporate it into a meal plan. Likewise toiletries, any half opened bottles - use before opening/buying more. Got out some mince & some quorn & made a big pan of smoked chipotle chilli, using up some sad squishy toms, celery, courgette & carrot..plenty veg.Loads left over for further meals. Also used up some pate on toast for DH (what year is this from he asked:eek:). I had leftover kedgeree.
NSDs - there are 30 days in September so a minimum of 15 or 20 for a harder challenge. Usual exemptions for ys items, petrol and medical expenses. Now 5/15
Spread some sunshine - be kind to others, help out friends, neighbours, colleagues and strangers. Share your tales of any random acts of kindness. Complimented DD.
Healthy eating - up your fruit and veg intake, quit snacking between meals or choose healthier options. Plenty fruit consumed - and veg, but also some biscuits.
Invest in yourself. Make sure you take the time to do things that you enjoy. Try something new that you've always wanted to do. Managed to reach the back of the property & got some elderberries.
No spending on takeaways, drinks out, etc unless prearranged and budgeted for. No takeaways today.
Try to find free activities to do. Will do.
Exercise - it won't be long before the darker nights start drawing in so make the most of it while you can. Get outdoors for walk/run/cycle even if only for 10 minutes. Outside for an hour & a half now covered in scratches but it was almost worth it. Note to self - wear long sleeves in future.

Coxy Happy birthday! Are you a fellow yellow belly? I keep having to explain 'mardy' and 'in a mardy', living in the heathen south-east
Another NSD yesterday and one planned for today, which I think takes me to 7/15
On the exercise front, I checked the tracker on my phone and I've been averaging 12K steps a day. Must keep it up as the weather gets cooler.
Budgets are not looking as shiny - I am going to be overdrawn this month . Partly extra school expenses (kind of planned for), also have had to loan DH some cash. I should be getting a bit of money back in, just not guaranteed before I get paid. Well, there's nothing I can do about it yet. I should be able to pay it off next month, but still a bit cross that I didn't make it through.0 -
I have £8.45 until Friday.
The budget got away from me, and a few things which were on the - I will buy this next month list - appeared in the charity furniture shop. So in the long run, money saved, in the short term, oops.
Food in the pantry, food in the freezer, going to have to NSD for the rest of the week.
That's motivation for you!
Today will be NSD 5 - it has to be

Congratulations to runners, birthday and new job turtles. I fell into cleaning and for a while I kept myself, the boys and the house with a series of cleaning jobs, mostly workplaces. Looking at different offices and companies from close up but as an outsider is fascinating and frustrating. You can see everything that is wrong but have to bite your tongue. Made a point of finding alternatives in places were health and safety were flaunted - that's the advantage of having multiple jobs, one job can be left if needed.
Still not firing on all cylinders but prioritisng and getting one or two things each day. Yesterday I walked as far as Icyland, picking up bits on the way (2 heavy bags), sent my order home for later and took a taxi to mum's with bread, milk, sandwich fillings, ys yoghurt, 2 types of pasta salad (one ys) and a pack of cakes for her.
Spent £51 but it was amixture of refilling the freezer, basics for me and some stocking up (24 pack of toilet roll as we seem to be down to the last 12 and nearly a tenner on wash tablets - hadn't been able to start the washing because the tub was empty. Offer tub should last about 3 months).
Mum wanted some weeds dealing with, I booked another day out (Liverpool Giants final outing, 10 years after the City of Culture) for us and put in a repeat prescription to the doctors (+ a list of other things I have to ask/ do when I go to pick it up). I sorted some pieces out so that mum has jigsaw to do for the next few days and made sure the neighbour who pops in did not overstay her welcome. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Down to the last 12 , most days before restocking we're down to the last 1:rotfl: and only buy 9 to last the week for 4. But atm I also have a huge 24 pack in the house because it was the best deal.
Spend day as I gave into a packed of salter peanuts. Dragged myself off to the gym at lunch to work some of that off again and luckily only had a salad with me for lunch.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250
