Coxy - what sort of fitbit do you have?
Today I am grateful for working with some lovely people, for catching up with an old friend, for Headspace, for the Avengers (Steed and Mrs Peel, of course), for looking round a great school for dd, for fresh air, for dh meeting us off the bus.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Today didn't start well. Got up early but didn't get much done (worried about noise), snacked on free chocolate from the work:s coffee room, didn't go to the gym, trouble with the work's server etc etc.
But it got better. Saved it with a healthy dinner, did some excersice at home, prepared some quiet chores I can do in the morning without worrying about waking anyone and now crochet.
Today the motto was "the day can be saved, pick yourself up and start again but don't wait till tomorrow, do it now"DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Set your budgets now. Have done this.
Use up. Done this today. Baked some scones with things already in.
NSDs – 9/20 NSD today.
Spread some sunshine – Told author of a self-care journal book through social media that I was happy to have got the book in the box I usually order from the mental health support organisation. She was appreciative.
Healthy eating – Need to be more mindful with what I am eating.
Invest in yourself. Did wordsearch, mindfulness colouring, reading and watched some programmes that I like.
No spending on takeaways, drinks out, etc unless prearranged and budgeted for. Try to find free activities to do. Will try and find some activities closer to home.
Exercise – Walked around the park - did one lap of my usual route.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Struggling this week turtles.... but trying to keep the faith. I can't spend what I don't have so nsd's ahoy. Just got home from a 14 hour work day and I'm absolutely exhausted. But I am reading along.
Sasha - hope that the dog is ok.
Coxy - 5 days for a fitbit is about normal.
I will be back as normal over the weekend.

Today was such a naughty day! Had chips for dinner so broke the takeaway rule and had a voucher for a free Krispy Kreme so I think you can guess what dessert was.... Really need to get better with food, especially as I'm barely exercising at the moment. Other than that no other spends. Working from home for the next few days which keeps spends down and also regulates my eating! Shopping delivery tomorrow and I also have a hair cut booked, so it will be a planned spend day.0

greent we did our "annual uni kit out IKEA visit" earlier this week and it was full of late teens (with a parent, or two, in tow who all seemed to share an unspoken understanding of why they were there) wandering through filling trolleys with things that they thought looked useful. I find it amusing but that could just be me.
Set budgets – all within expected.
Use up – not buying anything unless needed.
NSDs - currently @#7/15.
Spread some sunshine – picked up a parcel for someone and a treat to cheer someone up.
Healthy eating – still need to focus.
Invest in yourself – went for a long walk with a friend, a chance to clear the cobwebs.
No spending on takeaways or drinks out – was treated whilst out so will be my turn next time.
Exercise – have gone outside everyday.Groceries: Personal Spend: 0 NST NSD Goals for 2025:Self: Health: Wealth :0 -
Hi all:j
Day didn't start off particularly well as I had been awake at about 4am, consequently was fast asleep when alarm went off, although I usually wake before it. Groggily made my way downstairs to let out the dogs, bad smell in hallway but no evidence.....told you I was half asleep. Bad smell persisted & finally tracked to a deposit - inside one of my outdoor sandals, blech. This had been made by one of the boys, not the girl..first job of the morning, cleaning it up which was surprisingly difficult, then mopping the hallway...jeez without even a cup of tea..Cat was let out & promptly used his tray, that smell was even worse ...Then the tree surgeons turned up..thank goodness they didn't ring the bell as I saw them arrive & shot out so they weren't stood on the doorstep...Day seemed to be filled with deposits, smells & trees....
It did get better as the day wore on, tree surgeons did a fine job; my friend arrived for tea & chat & looked at poorly dog for me. She has a horse, so is used to large animals & leg problems. She promptly identified the area of pain (knee) & recommended her vet - we are booked in early tomorrow so I am hoping this one will find out what is wrong. Slight problem of getting 7.5 stone dog into back of car, but we will do it. So crazycatlady I am hopeful because she is definitely in pain, poor girl.
Set your budgets now. Pay to your debts/savings first and live off the rest. Make sure you're on the best deals for utilities, phones, broadband, etc. Are there any areas in your budget that you could cut down on? DD has provided me with her budget - amazingly - which is something she's never done before. I think I am going to have to help her stick to it by sending her the amount weekly, let's hope it works. Pay day tomorrow for her.
Use up. Have a look through your cupboards and identify any food that's been lurking there for a while and incorporate it into a meal plan. Likewise toiletries, any half opened bottles - use before opening/buying more. Allowed DH ta day off the pate so he had some hummus, we had scrambled eggs etc. Supper was leftover chilli and very naughty HM Danish pastries....
out of the freezer.
NSDs - there are 30 days in September so a minimum of 15 or 20 for a harder challenge. Usual exemptions for ys items, petrol and medical expenses. Now 6/15
Spread some sunshine - be kind to others, help out friends, neighbours, colleagues and strangers. Share your tales of any random acts of kindness. will do.
Healthy eating - up your fruit and veg intake, quit snacking between meals or choose healthier options. Eating plenty of fruit & there was plenty of veg in the chilli, but pastry for afterwards & a couple of biscuits made it into my mouth as well.
Invest in yourself. Make sure you take the time to do things that you enjoy. Try something new that you've always wanted to do. Did make time to see friend, otherwise no.
No spending on takeaways, drinks out, etc unless prearranged and budgeted for. No takeaways today.
Try to find free activities to do. Will do.
Exercise - it won't be long before the darker nights start drawing in so make the most of it while you can. Get outdoors for walk/run/cycle even if only for 10 minutes. Outside for a short time at lunchtime, then again with friend & poorly dog for a few minutes while she examined her..

Morning all
Hope you get through to the end of the week CCL. Hats off to all the teachers on here, it's bad enough getting the kids organised for bsck to school and then sitting in a nice quiet office!
Spend day yesterday so still at 6/15. Budget still borked. More new School expenses for DS - money for food tech, new sports top, it goes on!
I've been looking wistfully at my CC - I'm eligible for a 0% money transfer but there's a fee (2-4%) and of course I'd need to pay more monthly to ensure it was paid off. Must resist! I will get hit with OD charges this month, but if I focus I'll be back up to par next month if not the month after. Just need to grit my teeth for the next week. I know if I get any extra cash in I'll be tempted to spend it, which is precisely how I ended up with CC debt in the first place.
Sunshine: made the effort to chat to THREE mums at the school gate yesterday. Must be a record for me!
I've also starting enjoying my knitting again - I was caught up over the summer with the Sock of Dismay - tried two different colour combinations as it was a Latvian colourwork design, gave up on all of them. Now making some pretty fingerless mitts and a nice solid sock for DH (I usually make him socks for Xmas). All stash yarn so very MSE. Plus I found s shawlette which is pretty much done, and three more pairs of socks which just need finishing off (1 toe to graft, then ends to sew in on all three).0
