Cyber tortoise hope things let up for you soon. When will you hear about the HB?
First day checking in and can report 1/15 NSDs. Won't be one today as I need to pick up a couple of School bits and a treat for DS for surviving his first day of big school.
Set Budget set for this month, it'll be tight for the next 2 weeks but doable.
Use Cleaned out the kitchen cupboards at the weekend - I have enough pasta to last for months!
NSDs 1/15
Spread some sunshine A timely reminder as I'm a grumpy introvert who needs to remember to reach out to people. I have great friends but I sometimes fall into the habit of waiting for them to contact me. And there's always the opportunity to connect with new people
Healthy Aiming for a dry September and better eating habits. Realistically I should be a couple of stone lighter than I am. But, biscuits and cheese
Invest This month I WILL get on with the professional development work I've been procrastinating on forever.
No Glenda says No to pretty much everything
Exercise Getting back into my lunchtime walk routine, also making the most of the weather to dig in the allotment (my favourite job, much easier than actually growing anything!)
Now I've remembered to subscribe I should be able to check in more often! Have a great September, turtles :j0 -
Hi All
Feeling a bit lousy today, tired & full of cold.
Set Budgets- I have £160 in my account, plus £350 in savings, I have quite a few things that have just cropped up though so I need to look at my budgets tomorrow after I have been shopping. I have 4 birthdays this month  which isn't helping.
Use up- Fajitas tonight as we have sour cream to use up & salad.
NSD's- number 2I need at least 4 or 5 this week to be on target.
Spread some sunshine- My friend was struggling for childcare on a Friday morning as she is doing a bit of extra work for the next 3 months. Nursery was going to be £30 per morning, so I said I would have her instead. We only go to play group on a Friday morning so she can come with.
Healthy Eating- On it
Invest in Yourself- tonight this means taking time out to watch bake off and just chill out.
No Take away- So I have been a little naughty and planned one for Sunday, HOWEVER I am doing a half marathon..soo....:D
Excersize- Ran last night, Yoga tonight. I never had myself down as someone who would enjoy Yoga , but it does wonders for my back.0 -
Good morning,
Pretty good day yesterday. Got my 20k steps, went to the gym, ate reasonably well and healthy and got the things on my list done (trialling new ways of writing realistic small to do lists and actually getting them done) and managed to read some before bed. Also trialling a new morning routine to "make" more time for me. So rather than sleeping as long as possible (and then being cranky and rushing everybody) I now try to get up earlier, have my coffee in peace, get some excessive done (doing the 30 day abs challenge) and then getting ahead on household stuff, atm it is clean a window each morning as I kept putting it off as too big a job. So far so good this week.....
Today should also be another SFD.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Morning All!
Budget – All updated and ready for the month.
Use up – I’ve already done my weekly shop on Sunday and have all meals prepped. My plan for next week will be to go through food cupboards and freeze to plan meals with anything I have before I do the food shop.
NSDs – Yesterday was a NSDs, today was a planned NSD but unfortunately I’m having to go out and get some eye drops. Still suffering with hay fever or some sort of allergy. I’m counting the eye drops as an emergency spend and counting today as #NSD3
Spread some sunshine – Need to think of some ideas!
Healthy eating – Off to a good start my meals are healthy due to planning at the start of the week! Only issue biscuits and cheesecake on Sunday as a treat and still have it left over! Can’t help myself when I get in from work, it’s too tempting! Once it’s gone I plan on making healthier snacks, frozen yogurt, dark chocolate etc.
Invest in yourself – I’ve been really struggling to sleep recently, mind is in overdrive as soon as my head hits the pillow. Trying to turn my tele off, put my phone down at least an hour before bed and read.
No spending – So far, so good. Apart from the eyedrops but these are necessity
Exercise – Was planning on a spin class tonight but having to work late, going to try go on Thursday instead.

Thrifty - sleeping makes me sleepy, so I get up when I wake up, rather than checking the clock to see if it is time to get up. If I do that I am fine for the day, if I go back to sleep for even 15 minutes I am tired for the rest of the day. It is well odd.
Early mornings with nobody else about are really underrated..
Set budgets - all bills paid, all set for the month
Use up - made pasties for lunchboxes with freezer puff pastry squares and fridge bottom bits. Store cupboard chili for tea tonight with 2 lonely avocado guacamole, tortilla chips (found a bag hidden at the back) wraps and rice.
DIY use up - Made a false shelf thing to hide a pipe in DS4s bedroom. Will not win any prizes, it is a fraction of a cm different in height to what it is next to, but it cost nothing, got rid of 2 bits of mdf shelving that was lying about the place and it will not annoy me every time I go into his room. :T Plus I got to mess about with my saw....
NSD 1 - today might be 2 - I have a £5 Mr M voucher (free to me) if anything becomes urgent when the kids get home (who knows!!)or if someone becomes allergic to cornish pasties and I need emergency bread (it will be YS if I do)
Spread - spoke to a new mum on the playground this morning. Lots of fresh babies on the school run - anyone would think it was 9 months since Xmas:rotfl:
Healthy - breakfast -baked apple and a banana milkshake = 3/5
soup for lunch 5/5 , chili for tea 8/5.
Invest - possibly not in myself, but in my relationship with DH who is finding having teenagers a horrible strain. I told him not to worry, it means 4 yrs til they move out. :rotfl: I do adore him but he is definitely the designated house 'grown-up'.
No - none had, nothing, no takeaway, no coffee, no ready meals, it is all home made, low(ish) fat, veg filled tastiness around here.
Exercise - none, but wrestling duvets and bedding up and down 3 flights of stairs a million times must count for something, surely? no? oh all right then.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Unfortunately, I'm not at the stage yet where I'm awake at 6am without an alarm. But you're right the snooze button is a terrible invention, always makes me feel worse. Most nights I wake at 2 or 3 but that might be a tad early to actually get up :rotfl:
Used to get up at 7 but an hour to get me and the kids up and ready and the house was too tight. Hopefully, getting extra done in the morning will free up some evening so I get an hour to unwind before bedtime.
P.S. one problem with getting up early is that our house is not sound proof at all and the kitchen is right under our bedroom, can't even have the radio on, but I'm working on a list of productive things to do quietly

Afternoon
Had a little walk today but not really far enough. Still better than nothing.
Nothing spent so 3/20.
Himself has got the tidying bug. Spent some time sorting out his clothes but, unfortunately, refuses to dispose of anything. Although it's come of a bit of a surprise to him that now that I'm using the wardrobe and drawers in the other room he actually has twice as much space for his clothes than I do. I've been telling him for years that he has far more stuff than I do. Whilst he was doing that I did the ironing.
Made soup with the leftover chicken. Having salmon and steamed veg for dinner (from freezer and fridge, of course).
Himself is out tomorrow so I have cleaning and decluttering plans.
Have a nice evening.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Evening all,
Not a NSD today, popped to the shops for a few fresh bits, rabbit food and also bought some protein powder online. Spent the rest of the day doing a few necessary bits before the return to work tomorrow, although I am working from home so it's not too bad. A chilled evening ahead, want to paint my nails so minimal washing up and cleaning as I hate chipping it!0 -
Well, I'm already back to feeling as though I have more to do than there are hours in the day... only 2 days in as well. :rotfl:
This means no time for spending money so nsd number two in the bag. In the spirit of using up I am having leftovers for tea, which also saves time as well as money.
I am continuing with the positive mental attitude, which is challenging but I'm still going with it, and looking after myself by going to bed at 10pm and sleep by half past. That is now non negotiable for my own sanity. I think in terms of the September challenge I'm doing okNot giving up
