For those now considering Talk Talk - the MSE deal is now no different to the deal reached by going to website direct or via Quidco (£20 cashback) which makes a cashback deal more attractive than MSE.--- Warning: Grumpy Old Man in Training ---0

Very dissappointing and v. poor customer relations from plusnet (having been with them for over 8 years!)
Hi there,
I'm afraid the offer is only available to new customers signing up using the link you mention in your post, sorry about that.
We certainly don't want to exclude existing customers though, I'd recommend you call our customer options team (choose the 'thinking of leaving us' option when you ring through) and discuss it with them, they'll be able to arrange something for you.
Hope that helps,
Matt Taylor

Just finished talking with BT. I am at the end of my contract on the BT Infinity Option 2.
They offered me Evening and Weekend Calls, on Option 2 as well as the speed upgrade to 76mb.
The price offered was £32.70 which I rejected and acquired my MAC code. They said they could not go any lower than that unless I paid my line rental up front which would have averaged it out to £28 a month.
Has anyone had a better offer than that with the same package? I did try to haggle anytime calls in for that price but was unsuccessful.0 -

Hi Matt
Thanks for the reply - but it was the customer options team that I had spoken to!!! They seemed very unwilling "to arrange something for you" - as you have suggested. After 8+ years, I was very disappointed in the customer service I received - especially as this department was unavailable at weekends (only Monday - Fri, 9-5, I believe) and I was on "hold" for more than 15 minutes each time I have called!!!0 -
Checked Plusnet pricing following this weeks article - very competitive so went back to BT (my current provider) and they immediately reduced my monthly charge from £16.60 to £8.65. This is £1.34 per month less than Plusnet which can be offset by BT's Anytime charge. This offer is a 12 month contract and will need to be re-negotiated before the expiry date. Really worth the free phone call to those nice people at BT :j0

I am coming to end of my contract with Plusnet on 28/2/2013.
I called this morning with 'what can you offer me' and 'I am thinking of leaving at the end of my contract'. I mentioned some of their deals on USwitch and they said and I quote "They are for *new* customers". Mind boggles. So, I asked what they can do to retain me and they said £6.99 for *24* month contract.
Well, they are going to lose me for sure. I am thinking of going to EE or back to TT (not my favourable option) but they are cheap.

What do people think about EE broadband (& phone of course)?
I am seriously thinking of moving to them from Plusnet who couldn't be bother to give me same deal as new customers.0 -

I AM a new customer and the deal doesn't seem to be working for me. i.e. the pricing quoted in the order, and the amount plusnet wants to take is all based on full price, not the half price deal.0 -
I've been trying, without success, to get the plusnet offer recently pulicised. Below is an online chat I had with one of their representatives this morning...
Welcome to our Live Chat service. A member of our sales team will be with you shortly.
You're now chatting to ....
Plusnet: Hi, my name is ..., I'm here to help you with your Plusnet order today.
Plusnet: How may I help you with your order today?
Me: I am interested in this deal - <copy and pasted link to MSE blagged offer - link page on plus net website...>
Plusnet: Ok great
Plusnet: You're on the right page, just click on start the order and it will begin for you
Me: It doesn't work!! As my broadband is currently with plus net...
Plusnet: How odd
Plusnet: Oh I see, that's only for new orders
Plusnet: IT won't work if you are already with us
Me: so - i can get this good deal if i've never been a plus net customer. But as I've been a loyal customer for 8+ years, I can't get the offer and have to pay more than new customers. Is that right??!!!
Plusnet: I am not aware of what existing customers get, perhaps if you call our existing customer team they can assist
Plusnet: I'd love to help but I can't access account details for existing customers, we only have access to the website to deal with new orders, sorry for that. However, if you call our customer services team on 0800 432 0200 or 0345 140 0200, they will be happy to help you with this.
Me: are they open just now?
Plusnet: They ought to be open now yes
Me: ok - thanks
Me: not open until after 9am apparently
Plusnet: Strange, the contact us section only says sales is from 9am, but you're an existing customer
Plusnet: Unless it thinks you need to speak to sales as well?
Me: i just spoke to someone - who was unable to help and said i need to speak to the "customer options team" that are only open from 9am-5:30pm
Plusnet: I see, I'm not familiar with all the various departments out there
Plusnet: Not heard of them before
Me: none of this is really much help for me i'm afraid...
Plusnet: I understand, you'll need to wait for the team to open at 9 and see what they can do
...so much for their much-publicised customer service!!!!
I have generally been happy with plusnet over all the time I have had my broadband service with them, but unfortunately it looks like I'll be moving to another provider (a shame - as I was actually looking to move my phone line and call package to them as well!!). Looks like they have attractive offers for new customers but aren't particularly interested in customer retention!!0 -
Had the same sort of problem, rang to renew my contract having been with them for phone and bb for 5 years only to be told no offers at the moment so if I want my mac code please ask for it. Very disappointing0
