Currently out of contract with Sky for broadband but having no joy with retentions.
The current cheapest I can find is talktalk, free BB for 12 months, just pay line rental, + £100 quidco.
Anything cheaper? I'm loathed to go with talktalk as they've been generally awful in the past, but its all about the bottom line!0 -

I'd never go back to TalkTalk. If I were you, I'd wait until the New Year when the better deals will be back.
I read on MSE that TT even messed up the free upgrades for customers that were to make up for the data breach. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/broadband/2015/12/talktalk-customers-left-unable-to-choose-free-upgrade-online0 -
New to the thread, so apologies if this point has already been raised!
I checked and re-checked MSE in the weeks leading up to my talktalk end of contract date (I got some £200 statement credit to cover line rental and unlimited broadband for twelve months, and they wouldn't match any deals I quoted this time around, so opted to switch), but now that MSE seem to have deals which are only available through direct links, they don't really advise on the actual cheapest deals available.
I waited until the Black Friday events and went through Quidco to Sky (£80 cashback), then took up the Sky offer of free unlimited standard broadband for 12 months if I paid £17.40 pm line rental. Sky are also going to send me £100 on a pre-paid mastercard.
So yearly charges stack up to £208.80 (line rental) + £20 (connection fee (sneaky)) + £6.95 (router p+p) = 235.75. Take away the £80 cashback and £100 on the pre-paid mastercard giving me unlimited broadband for £55.75 for the year. A further tiny bonus being the direct debit cashback of 3%.
Has anyone been able to beat this?0 -
My recent experiences with phone co's.
I'm with EE following an MSE deal in Dec 2014. Incredibly, and full marks to them for this, they contacted me to offer me a deal at £190 for the next year b/band & w/end calls. Nearly took it but looked up MSE and saw a better deal so went back to EE who have now offered me same terms (unlimited b/band & w/end calls) for £17 month but first three months free so £153 year. I took it.
Meanwhile Mum is with Talk Talk who seem to be bending over backwards to please everyone. Called them up for this "Thanks for staying" offer. She doesn't need b/band but has the calls boost with unlimited land and mobile calls. Got her bill down from £32 to £25 month plus a free you-view box (no contract) with sports.0 -
I'm still holding out for something good.
Current cheapest seems to be SSE (who's website won't accept my phone number/postcode)
Followed by BT thru Moneysupermarket. £7.50/month broadband (not fibre) + line rental, less £125 vouchers of various kinds.
Anything better out there? These are better than a couple of weeks ago but nothing like the black friday deals of less than £100 pa all in.0 -

I was in same situation last week, out of contract with sky broadband, only half price fibre offered by retentions, and cheapest deal was with talk talk....... so placed the order with talk talk.
2 days later had an email offering 12 months free line rental if i came back to sky, so went on the online chat and the half price fibre was also available, all on a 12 month contract.
Thus am happily staying with sky for only £10 a month for line rental and unlimited fibre for the next 12 months.0 -

You may be happy but if that occurred after you definitely placed the order with an ISP using " BT Openreach’s national telecoms platform and its related copper phone and broadband products" , (not just BT broadband itself), then it is against Ofcom regulations and YOU would have been required to contact TT to stop the switch if you changed your mind.6. The losing provider sends out a similar switching letter to the customer, albeit one that includes information about any exit fees or other issues that may impact your service (e.g. the possible need to return your old ISPs bundled broadband router). Ofcom states that there is a “prohibition on marketing statements / representations” during this period, which means the losing provider cannot use special offers or discounts to entice you into stopping the switch.7. Should the consumer change their mind then, with effect from the start of this process, they will have a minimum of 10 working days to contact the new (gaining) ISP and stop the switch.
