You have to be given a 14 day cooling off period so switch won't happen before then.
Thanks for that - I had forgotten about the 14 day cooling off period. Is your new house covered by the same exchange? If it is there shouldn't be a problem. If it isn't you may not be able to keep your number if it's not covered by the new exchange. Best to ask Sky although that may cause issues with cashback.
Last night after posting my question I thought about it and remembered that as I was moving to a new area code I wouldn't be able to keep the same number as it would be on a totally different exchange.
I won't bother asking Sky as I don't want to risk the cashback but I very much doubt I can take my number with me.
So that also makes other things easier as I will have to give the 30 days notice on my old contract with BT at my old house and start as a new customer with Sky. Only pain is that I will end up paying for 2 weeks of BT at full price as my 12 month deal will end in 15 days.can I just ask about the MasterCard thing - is this just a personal gift or something- is it's not some offer that we should know about?. I'm in position of moving house and lots of costs to move with current b&b. Provider - so need to research options.
It is available to all, it seems to be a new thing a lot of the providers are doing. In the past it was just a Love2Shop voucher or M&S gift card which limited your options as to where you could spend your money. The Mastercard £100 can be spent anywhere that accepts Mastercard I believe.
Hope that helps!0 -
Despite hanging on for the "Black Friday" deals, I`m not seeing many great bargains, only more of the same same. I`m currently with EE on their standard unlimited BB and weekend calls with BB speeds of around 15Mbs this EE deal was last years favourite deal on MSE, and the contract is due to end (or auto renew) on the 4th Dec, they have offered me a retention/renewal price of £14.45 P/M which includes a £10 discount. The total cost for the 12 months would be £173.40.
Without factoring in the cost of inclusive weekend calls, the current favourite deal is the plusnet £111 offer with the £75 cashback, for line rental and BB but this doesn`t include weekend calls.
I`m not a huge user of the landline even at weekends, nor an I a heavy user of the BB at home, as I spend my time at another home (with BB) during the day . My dilemma is whether to stay with EE, or switch to another provider, or ditch the lot and stick with the mobile phone and 4G mobile Wi-Fi I have (1Gb / month contract until April) for data at home, that would operate/service my domestic requirements (TV box)0 -
Have you not seen the deals I have posted below? They are both good deals in my opinion NCD less than what you have been offered, especially the sky deal.0

Just phoned Plusnet to see what renewal they could offer and mentioned going back to TT. They said could not match TT prices ........ but ........ they gave me the new customer deal including the £75 cash back which is actually cheaper than the TT deal, £9.24/12m against £11.80/18m :money: And call centre staff whose first language is English (more or less).;)
edit: Contract e-mails all arrived and everything as agreed on phone - web account is a bit messy but no doubt that will sort itself in a couple of days.0 -

That's odd, I spent 50 minutes on the phone to be told their systems are down and I had to call back tomorrow.
Is your deal for standard or fibre? We need to upgrade as we are having issues with their standard during the evenings.
Thinking of going to Sky. Standard works out at £32 for the year with cashback.0 -
Standard, none of that high speed thingy here.0

Thanks for the info, been out of contract with PlusNet for 3 months and was going to move, but will think of staying if they can offer me something similar.0 -

Does anyone know who has the best track record for service and reliability? Every one I look at has awful reviews.
We are with Plusnet ATM but am really unimpressed with the customer service and long wait times, my daughter also claims that the service drops out during the evening?0
