Hi, I'm sorting out broadband and found this offer:
BT 38mb - Unlimited - Fibre optic
Pay upfront on the line rental
It's £12.50 a month plus upfront one off charge of £240.23
so £390.23 for the 12 month contract....
But then you get £140 quidco cash back and a free £125 sainsburys gift card.
so really £125.23 for the years broadband = £10 a month inc line rental. Can anyone find a cheaper deal before I go ahead?0 -
Seems like a lot to me
It's £10.50 odd a month including line rental!
I do not like all this !!!!!footing around with cashback and vouchers you might or might not get.
lol I've done loads of these deals and always got what was promised
Check the terms, a lot of companies offer 12 month deals but 18 month contract.
I have, it's a 12 month contract
Do you really need Fibre?
Why not at this price? It's cheaper than non fibre elsewhere
We are in offer limbo at the moment as far as MSE is concerned.
Where did you get that offer from?
the bt website & quidco
I saw a Virgin offer for £4.99 a month for 9 months of 18 month but line rental on top
Well that's a lot more expensive than this deal then isn't it!?
Comments are in the above....0 -
Yes silly me, needed to vent after being on the phone for what felt like hours.
Blessing in disguise really, could of been one of the unlucky people who had their details stolen.0 -

I currently have EE line + BB as a standby (I have Virgin, but if I'm WFH I don't want an outage), which I got on a 12 month offer; that's now ended and the price has gone up to £25.70/month, and it's just plain not worth it: (a) I don't get many phone calls on the landline, except for cold callers, and (b) the ADSL service is pretty dismal.
So, £10 effective a month seems pretty good.
(Alternatively I can just ditch my landline and standby BB, but I just know that the instant I do that sod's law will strike and there'll be an issue.)0 -
P.S. the Quidco deal is now £100 Sainsbury's gift card.0

URGENT WARNING: (mods: apologies if this is the wrong thread, please move if applicable)
If like me you were one of the lucky few and signed up to the Sky broadband & phone MSE blagged deal earlier this year, go check your Sky account balance asap! This was the deal:
<QUOTE>
Grab code ASAP, redeem from Fri - £105 bill credit on £111 line rent & b'band. MSE Blagged. For Sky newbies or those who left it 12+ months ago signing up to a 12-mth contract and paying by direct debit. You need a code (14,500 avail) - they're likely to go fast and you can get one now via the link, but can only redeem it from Fri 10am-Thu 25 Jun 11.59pm.
<END QUOTE>
I had numerous blips when signing up, where initially details would go through only for Sky to repeatedly cancel my order the next day . Finally I managed to sucessfully sign up and create my account using their webchat dialogue AND kept a record of the transcript.
Just by sheer chance I called them today on an unrelated matter and was advised that my £100 credit was almost exhausted and their FULL charges would be kicking in next month! It appears they disregarded the above offer and have been debiting full costs from day one. I'm hopeful it's all sorted now and managed to get another 4 months added to the offer period so just thought I'd put the warning out there. I'm still gonna check carefully though.
Regards,
Rob

All I see on Quidco and BT is £60
I seem to remember this before where there were different offers for different people, huge marketing mistake as it just makes you bitter.
Confirmed. Different offers for different members of the family here. Leaves you feeling a lot more negative about both BT and Quidco.0 -
Well, I've tried calling EE twice to discuss my BB charges, but have just navigated their call options and sitting listening to piped music.
I think I'll move on from them, and the BT option seems like the best one.0 -
I'm now looking at the BT offer, and will probably go ahead with it...
It seems that if you pay £10 for their free TV service you get £20 more cashback (ie. £160 vs £140).
I noticed the followin note on the QC page: "Cashback will not be paid if you cannot complete the order fully online and have to speak to BT directly.".
Wish me luck - I'm going in!0 -
First hiccup - the TV box has to have a wired network connection, doesn't support wireless... In my case, the router will be in a different room, so that's no good.
So, the net amount per month for me, based on 1 year, would be £14.32:BT Month Year Cashback -140 Sainsburys -100 Line rental 17.99 215.88 BB 12.5 150 Activation 39 Delivery 6.95 TOTAL 14.32 171.83
