Proper NSD today - I left my purse at home so I could not buy even a tiny thing in the canteen
- better for my waistline too.. extremely busy at work.
Tonight I've been to my exercise class and will eat a healthy salmon dinner. Also done a bit of planting out of things in the
Garden so free lettuces in a few
Weeks....Trying to keep in budget.

Today I am grateful for plenty of walking, for seeing my counsellor, for upping the weight I used in my KB workout, for a lovely shower, for sainz having gf bread, for a breeze, for cracking on with my marking, for dd coming home early (she'd had a tumble at sch so hadn't stayed on for her club, so we had some nice time together), for Dora plasters, for plenty of water.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Evening everyone :hello:
Got back from my holiday early this morning, weather was nice so managed to get one load of holiday washing out and dried. Have washed another lot ready to get out tomorrow.
Did a small grocery shop and bought a new phone charger (left mines in the hotel!) taking my food/other spends budget to £139.37/£200.
Went to McDs for lunch, social spends are now at £43.57/£150.
Sold back my leftover Turkish Lira, only spent half of what I took so pleased with that.
Checked my noddle account and the creditor I paid off last month has updated my credit report. Was very excited to see a closed account and I’m itching to get another paid off now
Enjoyed my wee break from technology but I have a lot of MSE threads to catch up on now.VSPC 2019 #10 - £168.80/£100 VSPC 2020 #4 - £262.03/£200 VSPC 2021 #9 - £242.88/£200 VSPC 2022 #3 - £188.03/£200 VSPC 2023 #7 - £0/£2000 -
Asking myself “Is this necessary/realistic?” before purchases or adding to the To Do List. Trying to prioritise and not get distracted.
June challenge. Having aimed for a mid-range target of 15 I’m actually on number 18. The hot weather has helped - I avoid the shops.
Using the food I already have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base meals on and will top up before the end of the week.
No takeaways or food on the run purchases – we had one for Father’s Day and that will be it.
Eating well is a form of self-respect. Still snacking.
Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Ongoing.
Debt and savings payments have been made. I am living on what was left.
Exercise. This still needs attention though I have been outside every day. I have also worked extra shifts this month and am mobile / on my feet.
Set all your budgets before the start of the month. All budgets were set. Been working on budgets going forward as more changes from September. Trying to maximise all incentives/offers to make the pennies go further.
Someone somewhere is worse off than me. Donations still to be delivered, clutter to be cleared.
Every day check is not going to happen but I do read the thread daily.
You are the most important person in your life.
Grateful for being able to line dry washing, absolutely beautiful cloud free blue skies, trees that provide shade to sit in and enjoying a cup of tea outside.Groceries: Personal Spend: 0 NST NSD Goals for 2025:Self: Health: Wealth :0 -
Hi all :j
A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. Small grocery spends today, small spend in CS, car tax due. When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible); Discussed this with friend this afternoon. Could call it a might do list, Probably need to make a big list, even if just to cross off stuff that is getting done, as motivation LOL. Look forward to the discipline of actually doing this...woooo Great list mothernerd, will certainly study this if I ever get a moment,,
J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th. Aiming for tough target. Still 14/20, won't make 20 but will do my best
U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) Lunch was leftovers from yesterday, tea was hm lasagne, prepped from stores..
N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. Nope.
E Eating well is a form of self respect. Made an effort today - small weight loss this week & healthy snacking!!
O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Waves pompoms wildly encouragingly!! Did make the effort & wore a dress to work today - was much cooler & also got complimented
D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left No debt other than cc I use for all purchases to get rewards - which is paid off in full every month. Will need to get the cc bill down during the month with payments made daily (PAD thread) to avoid large bill at end of month. Concerned about this one tbh..
E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Outside today, just a short time before work & few mins after, then out watering again tonight.
S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Have filled in a lot of the spreadsheet but it is still a wip, will add rest. More to add tomorrow, then need to take stock as cannot possibly need any more food. Nope.
.S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Will be amassing stuff to take to CS as I clear the clutter; also intend to sell better items to pay for hols booked for August. Ironed some stuff ready for photos & charged up tablet for photos. Gave time & money to CS today..
E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. 26/30 here I am..
You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest. Reading, learning & inwardly digesting. Help and support on here is the best..progress slow but steady..keep on keeping on. Getting on with the clearing, hopefully it is looking bad before it looks better! No clearing for me today although DH did clear more of cellar & also drain outside which was blocked again. Got a bag ready to take to CS but forgot it..grr..

Aiming for another NSD today, out at a work conference (free lunch! Going to the zoo!) then grocery delivery this evening.
Checked bank balance and spotted a spare £4 for the CC 'pot'
Put in an insurance claim for the Geriatric Cat meds - already paid and should be £24 back
Today I'm grateful for a free visit to the zoo :j and being up to date on the laundry and tidying.0 -

Toni's Friend Thanks very much, we are only there for the day THIS TIME
as we can't afford to stop over & we are doing the castle & the gardens. However it isn't far away at all, only an hour and a half, which is idea for the kids so I will bear that in mind as another possible day out or weekend away.

Gooooood morning!
Today won't be an SFD and I'll skip lunchtime gym . My legs need a rest day but I'll go for a longer swim tomorrow. I'll nip into LIDL today at lunch time and stock up on some seeds, nuts and other things. Checked the freezer etc yesterday and I should be able to avoid a big shop. Little top up shop today and maybe on Sunday.
DH said he might be away for a week with work just before we are off/go on holiday. That might be quite handy actually. Will save money on food, will be able to eat healthier as I don't have to compromise (I could cook us different meals but refuse, so I sometimes make unhealthier choices with him around as he does't like veg as much as I do, but working on tweaking our menu do be all healthier in general) and get some house stuff done (the desk drawer aka letter/bills/document dump) needs sorting.
See ya'll laterDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Isn't it hot? I'm not very good with it being this hot so I've been hiding indoors not doing very much at all. NSD 16 though so that's good.
Have done two loads of washing (some of it the Boy's since he doesn't have an outside drying area) and it's all washed and dried outside. Hardly anything needing ironed.
Seabass and asparagus (half price in Aldi the other day) for dinner. Nice and light. About all I could manage today so yesterday's left over pork is in the freezer for another time.
Think this weather is supposed to last till the weekend. Enjoy it.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0
