Hi all :j
Am trying my best to post but found kitten sat on laptop keyboard when I got up here - I now have a turquoise rectangle - which varies in size - but currently it is small & following me along as I type - plus until I stopped the sound, I had a voice reading some text to me. gawd knows what hes done :rotfl:
A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. Mainly food related - did I say I didn't need any more? but the lure of quiet shops & YS bargains was too much this afternoon. Spend day today, probs not all strictly necessary When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible); Discussed this with friend this afternoon. Could call it a might do list, Probably need to make a big list, even if just to cross off stuff that is getting done, as motivation LOL. Look forward to the discipline of actually doing this...woooo Great list mothernerd, will certainly study this
J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th. Aiming for tough target. Still 13/20
U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) Lunch was from stores was tea..made wrap pizzas usin up some bits of cooked meat, bbq sauce, red onion etc
N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. Nope.
E Eating well is a form of self respect. could do better
O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Waves pompoms wildly encouragingly!! Had me time this morning in the garden, that was kind to myself. I always feel better outside than in..
D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left No debt other than cc I use for all purchases to get rewards - which is paid off in full every month. Will need to get the cc bill down during the month with payments made daily (PAD thread) to avoid large bill at end of month. nor today..
E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Outside today, morning then in the evening to water the garden.
S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Have filled in a lot of the spreadsheet but it is still a wip, will add rest. More to add tomorrow, then need to take stock as cannot possibly need any more food. Receipts to add tomorrow.
S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Will be amassing stuff to take to CS as I clear the clutter; also intend to sell better items to pay for hols booked for August. Ironed some stuff ready for photos & charged up tablet for photos. Weekend project now
E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. 24/30 here I am..
You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest. Reading, learning & inwardly digesting. Help and support on here is the best..progress slow but steady..keep on keeping on. Getting on with the clearing, hopefully it is looking bad before it looks better!
Too difficult to post more - beaten by the rectangle arrghh

My not to do list
I have not put my children in a sack
I have not hung said sack from the washing line
I have not turned the hose on the squiriming sack on the washing line.
I am in need of a medal this morning. Honest.
Stupid and Lazy have paid a visit to my house and infected my boys.
I love them to bits but they are acting like helpless 2 year olds, rather than perfectly capable boys. I think they are on the countdown to summer holidays - their plans are to a) not get dressed and b) play on computers.
Remember to wear your sunscreen today Turtles4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Planning another NSD today! If I can get 5 before the end of the month I'll be pleased. Currently (not counting today) at 2.
A and J - Eldest reminded me they need an extra packed lunch tomorrow. Rather than planning a shop on the way home, I checked the cupboards and we have enough supplies - squirreled them away so they don't get accidentally eaten before tomorrow. I swear I live with a pack of locusts :rotfl:
U - made potato salad for lunch yesterday with stores. Enough leftovers for 2 lunches this week.
N - no takeaways or pub spending this weekend
E - only had a few glasses of wine Sat and Sun, interspersed with plenty of water.
O - hope everyone has a good week, the sun is still shining and it's officially summer!
D - will check Goodbudget today and round down envelopes, pushing remainder to another CC payment at the end of the month
E - will get out for an extra walk at lunchtime plus my usual 2 x 30 mins to and from the office
S - budget still on track (only day 5 but still!)
S - need to think on this one. I've signed up for an RSPB membership so that's my monthly charitable donation.
Y - forgot to do my morning tarot card pull and mini meditation . Must find time this evening. I did take my morning vitamins though :A
This new turtle is feeling very slow and not terribly buoyant! Onwards and upwards...
Today I'm feeling grateful for being in a permanent full-time job which I enjoy.0 -
Good morning Turtles
Hub left again at silly oclock this morning & so it is just me & the boys. Who are Sat still. This is nothing short of a miracle lol.
Off to baby group this morning , don't go til 10.30 so I'm hoping I can get the house work done first & put the washing away.
I made our dinner yesterday as our mince was on the cusp of going & I wanted to get it used. So I made our tea & put it in the fridge. It occurred to me I could do this on a Monday for Tuesday when I'm at work.
I hope everyone has a good start to the week0 -
Hello,
fabulous weekend. Got some gardening done, park trips, BBQs, and loads of sunshine (and pollen). Stuck to my healthy eating but had some wine.
NSD on Sat. Prepped a few days worth of snacks and lunches. Not thought about a dinner plan yet though for this week. In summer I find it harder to plan ahead as we often have impromptu BBQs or don't feel like certain foods as it's too hot. Have a good varied selection in the freezer though and can plan short notice.
Garden produce started to come in now. Some chillies are ready, the kale, red currents, fresh strawberries every day and for the fist time since we planted the rhubarb six years ago (and moved it twice) we'll finally get a harvest of that too.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
You have my Sympathy f0xh0les, sometimes i can't quite believe how my stupid and lazy computer onsessed boys grew up to be charming, social adept bright young men!
Not quite a NSD here, but just 65p on a packet of crisps with lunch. Home now enjoying the sun with a cup of coffee. Dinner is out of the freezer fish fingers with polenta and peas and anything else I can scrape out of the fridge. We really dont have much food but I cannot be bothered to go to the super market. Not sure hwat I will end up eating tomorrow for lunch!!Trying to keep in budget.

NSD no 15
Gorgeous day here again so I've not done very much. Washing all dried on the line and only two pairs of trousers needing a quick iron.
I've also managed to get a pay out of £10.00 from a survey site. I had kind of given up on them because I kept getting screened out but there you go. I think the knack might be to do them as soon as they are advertised.
The children are all outside playing. Extremely noisy. Everything is getting soaked with water guns. Most of them don't even live here but they're safe here and enjoying themselves so that's all that matters really. I love to see children playing, and making up games. Much better than spending alltheir time in front of a screen. I think computers have their place but maybe too much time spent on them (and this comes from someone who has a son who's always been a games addict. But he's made it his profession).
Mothernerd - Hope you a lovely time xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
