NSD No 14.
Went to the birthday party and spent the afternoon sitting in the garden watching the wee chap play and chatting to my cousin and her husband. It was so hot we didn't bother with the chocolate run.
Made stock from yesterday's chicken and have a lovely summer minestrone cooking for tomorrow. Using up lots of vegetables (especially tomatoes which we bought half price in Aldi during the week).
Relaxing now and planning things to do next week.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Crikey a week has flown by.
Not been on since last Saturday.
Have achieved 6 more NSD's since then - yesterday was a spend as we went out to a local music festival which was free but we brought food and drinks there so support the traders which all goes to help keep the event free. Had a great time.
Now up to 14 NSD's - I wont make 20 but hopefully will get 18 or 19.0 -
Plus I finally got round to putting in three PPI claims with my bank. Worth a shot!:money:0

This is an example (not mine although there are parts we can all identify with)
The UN-do List (How to de-stress your to do list)
Things I want to stop doing
Taking on everything without asking for help
(it's okay to delegate0
Worrying about cellulite, stretch marks, blemishes and other body 'flaws'. This body gave me my life, I should be grateful to/for it
Letting my mind wander when I should be Listening. The person in front of me is most important at the moment
Saying "It's okay" when it's not. Sticking up for oneself is a vital part of self-care
letting minor setbacks upset me
Try listing things you want less of in your life
Bad habits
Insecurities
self-doubt
Making excuses for other people
Taking on too much
Getting stuck in 'doing' mode instead of spending time 'being'
Letting other people/ outside situations determine your feelings
Remember we are giving up
feeling guilty
beating ourselves up
being mean (especially to ourselves)
stressing over the 'not done'
write your own list (or compile one on here and everyone add to it). I have thrown a lot of stuff at you this month so just pick one and work at getting it out of your life - keep reminding yourself that if it won't be important in 5 years time, limit the amount of time you spend stressing over it now.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Sorry for the flung together post. I am trying to do everything I wanted done before I go away and found a glaring error in my WTC renewal form - something they had invented but needed to put it right and of course none of the little option boxes was right for it.
So currently naked with a suitcase and a small pile of clothes on the bed (have just had a second bath) and if I don't move soon I will end up throwing stuff in bags and sorting it when I get to mum's. I may be in touch in the next 5 days. The hotel has free wifi but packing the laptop depends on how much space there is in the case. So have a good time simplifying your lives, unloading the stress, discarding the no longer useful or relevant (pity we can't do that with govt agencies).
Yesterday I went out shopping for odd bits (antiseptic cream, toothbrushes, paper cups for days out) and on the futile clothes hunt. Did spend £16.50 on 3 dresses and a t-shirt but treating it as a donation because I'm not sure they are what I want or need (they fit me, they are 'good' makes - an elvi and an Anne Harvey BUT they are all black and may be more autumn than summer. They will return to the cs if I find them unsuitable.
Did a clothes hunt today (involved the couch of doom) and found my missing dresses, so have 2 full dresses, 2 tunic dresses to wear over leggings (both a bit tatty so will wear them for travelling and put a 'posh' t-shirt on in the evening if mum complains), 5 pairs each of knickers and socks, 2 pairs of leggings, one big wrap cardi, 2 'posh' t-shirts. Have given myself permission to buy something new whilst away (have trawled loads of websites, saw some things I liked but want to check on the thickness of some of the materials) if I feel the need (or mum refuses to sit next to me in the coach if I don't smarten up).
Tax return has been submitted and WTC renewal (Carer's Allowance renewal already sent). Whilst trying to find the relevant bits of info I needed, I noticed that now that I am over 60 I am allowed to work 16 hours instead of 30, without affecting my claim, so I have opted to do that (still ahve to do 35 hours looking after mum to qualify for the Carer's Allowance). Will free up some time for walking and exercise.
Today I am grateful for getting most of the paperwork out of the way, for finding my lovely old clothes, for 2 baths and for simple food.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Today I am grateful for the sunshine, for having dh + dd + sdd1 + hub + dgs + sdd2 all here at the same time (we inhabit 3 continents and the time difference can be up to 18+ hours), for dd loving the drama day at the posh school, for some time with dh, for dgs being so at home here with us, for my plants growing, for our noisy neighbours still being away on holiday, for plenty of laughter.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
