Small spendy day. Roll of paper for my Great nephews birthday present (what I had in is too small) and a graduation card for one of the neighbour's daughters. Without going into too many details she's done so well to do this and we're all very proud of her.
The Boy is coming for his favourite roast chicken dinner (chicken was in the freezer) and will (hopefully) take some more of his many possessions home with him.
Oh how I wish we had markets here. The only ones we have are Farmers Markets which are very nice but frankly, now that we have retired, completely unaffordable, no matter how good the produce. I love visiting my friends and going on holiday "down south" so that I can visit markets. Tomorrow we're having a steak pie which I bought in a market when we were on holiday in Northumberland in May. They are delicious and cost a fraction of something similar in our local butcher. Having said that, I'm glad that we still have a butcher, fishmonger and greengrocer (baker closed down just a few days ago).
So, still in food budget. Might even have a bit of a surplus if we're lucky, Himself's birthday early next month so having a look around for presents. We don't do expensive but do like to have things to open. Have some books for him and might get the Boy to take me on a chocolate run to Lidl tomorrow. Any ideas for very cheap things will be gratefully received.
Have a nice evening everyone.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Bit of a spend on food today but balanced with all my stuff selling at the market so I'm quids in. I've had a lovely day really so I am just grateful I live in my happy small town alongside people I likeTrying to keep in budget.

Hi all :j
A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. No spends today. When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible); Discussed this with friend this afternoon. Could call it a might do list, Probably need to make a big list, even if just to cross off stuff that is getting done, as motivation LOL. Look forward to the discipline of actually doing this...woooo Still to do..
J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th. Aiming for tough target. Now 13/20
U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) Lunch was from stores as was tea..made wrap pizzas using up some bits of cooked meat, bbq sauce, red onion etc
N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. Nope.
E Eating well is a form of self respect. could do better
O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Waves pompoms wildly encouragingly!! Had me time this morning in the garden, that was kind to myself. I always feel better outside than in..
D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left No debt other than cc I use for all purchases to get rewards - which is paid off in full every month. Will need to get the cc bill down during the month with payments made daily (PAD thread) to avoid large bill at end of month. nor today..
E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Outside today, morning then in the evening to water the garden.
S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Have filled in a lot of the spreadsheet but it is still a wip, will add rest. More to add tomorrow, then need to take stock as cannot possibly need any more food. Receipts to add tomorrow.
S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Will be amassing stuff to take to CS as I clear the clutter; also intend to sell better items to pay for hols booked for August. Ironed some stuff ready for photos & charged up tablet for photos. Weekend project now
E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. 23/30 here I am..
You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest. Reading, learning & inwardly digesting. Help and support on here is the best..progress slow but steady..keep on keeping on. Getting on with the clearing, hopefully it is looking bad before it looks better!

Hi Turtles
Spend day today as I bought a razor for my hub which I saw on here :money:£1.99 postsge.
I have £2.55 in my bank & £6.50 in my purse. Not overly concerned as I am not due to shop until Friday & I'll have been paid then anyway.
Made a load of shapes yesterday for my 3 year old using card & stuck them on his wall so we can practice his shapes at bed time. I was on the hunt for a poster but this was free and does the job.
Swimming this morning- looking forward to it breaking up for summer hols. I LOVE swimming but it takes up all our Sunday's.
Went for s run yesterday. Will go again tonight. Quite enjoyed it.
Grateful for : nice weather, cups of tea in bed & getting time to read more0 -
Took the kids out Friday and spent on train fare, lunch (co-op meal deal), ice cream for DD and me (first time I've seen vegan ice cream so I wanted to try it), also spent £1.50 on a brand new ladle, £1 on a t shirt and £2 on shorts for DH, all from the CS, plus some trousers for me for £2.29.
Called at the library yesterday and had a pootle around town but didn't spend, also cycled and walked the dog. Not much going on today, need to buy some electrical items to fit a plug in DD's room then DH will be watching football.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Aiming for my first weekend NSD today. Always a challenge as weekends are my main time with the kids and I feel pressured to do fun things that cost - must remember that we have plenty of free stuff to do too! So we’ve walked to the local woods with snacks and drinks - they get to play outside and keep cool, I get some exercise (tick) and it’s free (double tick).
Having friend over for lunch but DH organising and buying any extras.
Yesterday I ended up having to buy some tops for the boys plus a top up shop - £14 groceries (including a bottle of wine for me - half led for today), £13 spending money (inc birthday card).
I’ve started a Kitchen Pot of Necessity for buying milk, bread and other necessities during the week to cut down on the top up shops. £10 in three funded from change in my purse. Let’s see if we can make it work. :T0
