I am grateful today for my job, for cheerful kids, for only 1 pupil being around when my car wouldn't unlock the driver door and I had to climb in through the passenger side in a most undignified way, for dd getting on with things whilst I had to spend 3+ hours on the phone, for 85% chocolate (even if a little squishy in the heat), for glugs of cold water, for the peace and quiet of where we live, for every day being a fresh start.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Sat in bed , reading & eating cherries given to me by baby group. Enjoying some peace after a crazy kid filled day
Made a star chart with my boy & did a tiny bit of baking with him in the half hour we went in the garden. I love baking with them & it is a cheap activity which provides a snack. Hurrah!!
Lots to be grateful for - the boys watering cans (they look absolutely adorable watering the plants), having a garden they can play in even if it's not huge, having fun building towers with the kids & my toddler having his milk downstairs in a cup0 -
Hi all :j
After my rubbish attempt to post yesterday DH had a look at the laptop & seems to have fixed it; whatever the kitty had done to it..he flings himself around, as he is a kitten however he is a very big kitten, already the size of a fullgrown cat...yikes.
A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. No spends today. When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible); Discussed this with friend this afternoon. Could call it a might do list, Probably need to make a big list, even if just to cross off stuff that is getting done, as motivation LOL. Look forward to the discipline of actually doing this...woooo Great list mothernerd, will certainly study this
J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th. Aiming for tough target. Now 14/20, won't make 20 but will do my best
U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) Lunch was from stores and so was tea.
N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. Nope.
E Eating well is a form of self respect. Made an effort today - no snacking!!
O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Waves pompoms wildly encouragingly!! Did a pamper session and decided- shock, horror - I may even wear a skirt if this weather continues..
D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left No debt other than cc I use for all purchases to get rewards - which is paid off in full every month. Will need to get the cc bill down during the month with payments made daily (PAD thread) to avoid large bill at end of month. Nope.
E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Outside today, morning in the garden/greenhouse, very unpleasantly hot in there.
S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Have filled in a lot of the spreadsheet but it is still a wip, will add rest. More to add tomorrow, then need to take stock as cannot possibly need any more food. Not done yet
.S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Will be amassing stuff to take to CS as I clear the clutter; also intend to sell better items to pay for hols booked for August. Ironed some stuff ready for photos & charged up tablet for photos. DD did hers & I helped by ironing the stuff that was horribly creased. She's already sold several things
E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. 25/30 here I am..
You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest. Reading, learning & inwardly digesting. Help and support on here is the best..progress slow but steady..keep on keeping on. Getting on with the clearing, hopefully it is looking bad before it looks better! Still more clearing today, several finds all of which will be able to be sold..

Hope everyone is having a good day! It's been a spending day for me, but only £2 from the change in my purse plus £7 on a top up shop - however I did revise my weekly grocery delivery which is due tomorrow and that's gone down by £6 so pretty good I think.
I also rounded down my envelopes in Goodbudget, which meant about £14 towards the CC (once that envelope gets to £50 I'll make a one off payment).
Today I'm grateful for my garden having a shady spot! It's boiling out there.0 -
Hello, another SFD here.
Healthy lunch and swim today.
See, I loooove an omelette but I never actually thought about preparing one or two in advance and taking them for lunch till I watched some meal prep video last night (cheap high protein lunch). Might do that for tomorrow or Thu.
Can't wait for payday....DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Today is a NSD :T mainly because I have about £1 left to my name. :rotfl: not to worry, Friday is almost here. THANK GOODNESS
I have spent today chatting to my work colleagues about Saturday, as we are going to meet friends in Alnwick. This is somewhere I have wanted to visit for a while, and a half way point between where I live and an old school friend who now lives in Edinburgh. So we are meeting up! My wonderful colleagues (who seem to have been pretty much everywhere) have been giving me pointers. I think I am yet to name a place they don't seem to know inside out...It is sort of a late birthday celebration, as I did plan to visit back in April but this was the closest date we could find that suited us all so we put the money to one side (give me a day out over a gift any day)
I am planning to give my boys lunch at the park after work, providing they have been good at nursery, It is all a bit rushed when I am on my own with them and I want to make a point of spending some more relaxed time with them after work
I have my pay slip today, so I plan to do a budget tonight if I have time for July...
I hope you are all having a wonderful time in the sunshine0 -
we are going to meet friends in Alnwick
Went to Tesco today to get some pasta bowls for the Boy as it was the cheapest I could see. Unfortunately I was unable to resist YS corner. In my defence there was money left in the food budget this month and I've managed to get 14 meals working out at about £1.00 per meal (plus pennies for veg). Save me buying next month.
Himself took me for a pub lunch but it is so hot we only managed a small portion of chicken wings between us. He's now having a snooze while I make dinner. Not sure how much I can eat but it'll do tomorrow if we can't manage (roast pork is just as good cold).
Enjoy the sunshine,Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
