  • Glad everything went well, Mothernerd.

Strictly speaking, maybe but you can't deny yourself everything. A little treat keeps you on track and you're doing so well in everything else despite the really difficult circumstances.
tbh if I dont have diet coke I end up miserable and ill so yeah its an addiction but one thats keeping me going at the moment.

    Hi everyone

Mothernerd glad your feeling more OK

Reached 10/10 sfd but I will carry on as its making me use what I have in and not buy food that's not needed. Today I had Weetabix for breakfast, scramble eggs on toast at lunch and a butterbean bake thing for tea. I also had some time at the lottie and picked more strawberries, some rhubarb, some gooseberries and broad beans, so I cant use them together in a meal!! Anyway that's more jam, a couple of crumbles and freeze the gooseberries and use the broad beans tomorrow for tea.

Otherwise Ive had a quiet day which is how I like it.

Evening all. Sorry that the hay fever has hit you so badly Mothernerd- it's been a terrible year for it.
Another packed day today finishing with some baking for the market. Also it was a NSD.
My DD for the WWF went out today and another one on Monday for the Dorset wildlife fund.
I had a good conversation with a work colleague about a situation that was bothering us so I'm grateful for being able to speak freely with that person.
I'm very pleased that it's Friday tomorrow although I still have baking and then the market itself on Saturday.
My DH went for 3 job interviews today so hopefully one of them will progress to the next phase.
Sorry I don't have a lot of time to post or comment, life is just a bit honkers at the monent
    Trying to keep in budget.

    Hi all
    :j

A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. No spends today.. When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible); Discussed this with friend this afternoon. Could call it a might do list, Probably need to make a big list, even if just to cross off stuff that is getting done, as motivation LOL.

J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th. Aiming for tough target. Now 12/20

U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) Lunch from stores; tea was a roast dinner - sort of. Had a joint got out of the freezer for a meal for all of us, then DD decided to go back to her place - it really had to be cooked today, or wasted... Prepped the veg etc early on; then had a bad migraine attack..shoved the beef & spuds in, then had to go & lie down. Came down later to find the food cooked, and was well enough to do a few more veg & some (shh) pre-made y puds….was very tasty.

N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. Nope.

E Eating well is a form of self respect. Goodish today.

O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Waves pompoms wildly encouragingly!! Was kind to myself by going to lie down when head got too bad - normally would just carry on but that would have made it much worse.

D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left No debt other than cc I use for all purchases to get rewards - which is paid off in full every month. Will need to get the cc bill down during the month with payments made daily (PAD thread) to avoid large bill at end of month. nothing today..

E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Outside twice today, plants came that I had ordered, want to get then established before my hols.

S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Have filled in a lot of the spreadsheet but it is still a wip, will add rest. More to add tomorrow, then need to take stock as cannot possibly need any more food. Out for lunch tomorrow, then hopefully assess what we have in...do not need any more food...

S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Will be amassing stuff to take to CS as I clear the clutter; also intend to sell better items to pay for hols booked for August. Ironed some stuff ready for photos & charged up tablet for photos. Weekend project now

E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. 21/30 here I am..

    You
are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest. Reading, learning & inwardly digesting. Help and support on here is the best..progress slow but steady..keep on keeping on. Have looked after myself today instead of soldiering on regardless; much better for everyone in the long run. in consequence didn't get everything done that I intended but heyho, tomorrow is another day!

Very pleased to hear you are AOK mothernerd :j

Thanks dolly84, DD seems fine, no ill effects despite the car taking such a whack that the device that the insurance company have installed in the car fell out - and they rang her to ask if she'd had an accident.....:rotfl:

    Go turtles

  • I've been reading daily but life has got in the way of me posting, although I don't have anything very exciting to post....
I've spent the past 2 weeks with very little money, but today some petrol expenses have gone into the bank and Monday is payday :j
I started to pad this week, but have ended up putting £1 a day in.
I took a few books to the charity shop yesterday, I've decided that I could do this every Thursday and ds's playgroup is near the shop so I don't have to carry anything very far. I have lots of clothes etc to sort and take.
Were still eating from stored and the tins cupboard is looking really bare. The freezer still has plenty in it though :rotfl:
Went for a 3 mile run yesterday so exercise is done :T
