Didn't manage to post last night, but had another NSD yesterday :)
    Now on 6 / 10 :)

Did some shopping today, and totals so far are in my signature. I bought only items that would go with what I already have, and to that end, I updated my freezer inventory last night. I still have lots of meals in there, despite all I have used. I did 'buy' some on offer sausages and bacon from Iceland with vouchers earned from doing surveys, so haven't counted these against my total. Also bought cold pills and tissues for OH as he has man flu, some kitchen rolls etc, all of which I have counted, as money changed hands.

Not managed much exercise today, but I did spend some time outside watering the garden and pruning my cordon fruit trees, which seem to need frequent haircuts at this time of the year!

Picked a few more strawberries, some mangetout and the first few broad beans. Also the first new potatoes :j Had these nice things with salmon from the freezer, so we ate well today :)

Grateful for garden produce, and the scented candle I am burning so that the house doesn't smell of fish cooking!

Kerry Woman - do you know how much longer you have left in that school? You seem to have been there quite a while.

Today I am grateful for the wind and the sunshine, for clearing a small part of the garden, for getting more marking done, for leaving work knowing that I had done a lot, for time with dd, for being able to pay more off the mortgage, for deciding not to have a table at dd's sch fair (it costs £25 and I rarely make enough money to cover that), for packing up some stuff to send off.

apple muncher - They held the admin post interviews on Tuesday. I heard that they have chosen someone. I did ask the HR Manager and she said that she will let me know.

Oooh heck yes to fresh broad beans and new potatoes! What am I talking about... strawberries and mangetout as well.

Storm Hector resulted in a whole hour of drizzle and cloud here today - sorry all!

I managed a walk to town today to post a father's day card (the post box in town picks up at 1730, the one nearest me at 0730, no good for my second class stamp). Popped into PoundStretcher (I was looking for their packs of 20 microfibre cleaning clothes for £2.99 - fail) and found they had my favourite organic, sugar free, no chemical, cola. I've had such a hankering for cola and it was only 39p a can rather than £1 so I bought 3. Not really essential :o Made a big batch of a lentil/rice/leftover frozen veg/protein powder soup-come-risotto yesterday which I've been munching on with cream crackers for dinners. One extreme to the other with me!

Well, Hector took our lilac tree out :(. Luckily the strawberries and red current bush it fell on are just bruised but not broken. The potatoes are flattened though. Hope they recover a bit as they're not ready.

Beans, cucumber and peas etc are late this year. Will be quite a while yet till harvest. First little tomatos and chillies are coming now.

Looking fwd to the World Cup starting as it will free up nights to do stuff instead of watching telly as DH will be claiming it for him :p

    Hi everyone

    6/10 sfd

I haven't been out today so I made a risotto from lo leek, courgette and toms followed by strawberries and yogurt, Im getting a bit fed up with strawberries I think I will take some out later this year and make space to grow something else.I still have several jars of jam from last year. My broad beans are nearly ready, I had a couple of pods when down the lottie, all in the space of seeing if they are nearly ready!! The gooseberries are nearly ready as well.

I haven't been to the plot today. The wind has been well windy but we didn't get much of the wet stuff at all, so I stayed in and made a few more quilt blocks. Ive only just started quilting and really enjoy it.

Oh and by the way my book has turned up, and I wasn't even looking for it!!! so so happy. By the way it was a quilting book.

Big hugs indigo. A very sad day but you are a survivor.

Sorry for earlier. The hayfever is making me absolutely miserable and I just do not know what to do. I went to buy some food I could eat - had a yoghurt yesterday evening and one this morning, but thet seem to be curdled (taste fine). Very bad - I spent £40.92.

Some was within my remit, soft sandwich fillings, soft bread, tinned soup and fruit etc, some one offs:-
£5 for a can opener (twice as much as the other one but it's a soft grip one and thinking I may need it). Mine has disappeared, Beloved's is impossible (works the wrong way so doesn't work at all on deep lids). Finding that the ordinary cheap ones are generally not cut properly so do not work or only work for a short while and would have to spend £5.60 on bus fare to get to a shop that still sells ones that are cut properly
    - a newspaper (why), looked at a magazine and put it back but bought a newspaper
    - a £4 bunch of roses to cheer me up
some slightly indulgent but still fit the remit - cheese triangles
and some utterly indulgent - a chocolate orange.

Will go and sit on the naughty step but I still have a chocolate orange.

Did intend to go to the library and buy a couple of the 'for sale' dvds but couldn't be bothered to get off the bed again. (sulked at first and then ot into my book). Very grateful for the soft foods. Picked up ibruprofen, hayfever tablets and epsom salts on the way to my therapist appointment, just missed the hospital bus (long queue but could not face having to go back later) so got a taxi and had a bus home.

Although today has been bad, generally I am doing much better. The appointment structure is really helpful as I am dealing with one bit of the problem at a time and it's helping to build good habits.

Came home and had a little nap. Took rubbish/ recycling out, brought washing in, rounded up boxes to make display trays for mum's cakes, thought it was about 7.30pm until I picked up the laptop. The atmosphere seems much pleasanter - still coughing madly and have a sore throat but my nose is unblocked (still tickling but clearer than it was).

Today I am grateful for having a lazy sloth day (when nothing goes right, go to sleep), for soft foods, for finding boxes (more than I knew we had, have made a good start on the couch clearing) for my nose not hurting so much, for the bad mood passing.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

  • Evening everyone,

Was naughty yesterday and bought a packet of crisps and a bar of chocolate for my lunch (along with some kitchen foil - not for lunch!) bringing my food/other spends to £109.12/£200.

    Today was NSD #5.

Have read a bit of my book but not much as I've now got addicted to the MFW diaries :)

    Hi all :j

A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. Did purchase some garden plants today, not strictly necessary tbh. When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible); did a fair few things from the list including finally getting up the ladder & taking down all the central light shades, washing then putting back up, with DH to help. They get dusty & dead insects inside, looks awful so had to be done..

J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th. Aiming for tough target. Still 9/20

U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) Lunch partly from stores, partly bought in shopping, then tea all from stores.

N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. Nope.

E Eating well is a form of self respect. Pretty good today, all hm food.

O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Waves pompoms wildly encouragingly!! Felt grim but tried not to take it out on the others, tempting though it is..

D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left No debt other than cc I use for all purchases to get rewards - which is paid off in full every month. Will need to get the cc bill down during the month with payments made daily (PAD thread) to avoid large bill at end of month. Another Daily PAD..plus money in paypal from sales..

E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Outside just to cut the grass, very windy but still no water..

S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Have all receipts in shoebox awaiting DH revival of spreadsheet..maybe tomorrow as out today. More receipts into shoebox...still not done. Another receipt into shoebox..manana..eh, no not yet..

S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Will be amassing stuff to take to CS as I clear the clutter; also intend to sell better items to pay for hols booked for August. More items to list on the weekend, tomorrow have visitors for lunch so cleaning frenzy in order....yuk

E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. 14/30 here I am..

You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest. Reading, learning & inwardly digesting. Help and support on here is the best..progress slow but steady..

Sorry for all those suffering from the pollen etc, hope you get some relief somehow
