F0xh0les I agree, Hayfever is a royal pain in the bum!!! Sounds like you get it pretty bad though, I hope it sods off soon :D

I thought I got up early enough to be on top of things but our green house fell over in the wind (it is only a material one) so I spent my morning trying to tidy up and save what I could. luckily there wasn't much in there. I then moved all my other flimsy pots and plants in to the house just to be safe. The house looks like a bombs gone off as I then just ushered the kids into the car as fast as I could & decided I would deal with it once I got home.:rotfl:

I have another M&S voucher which my hub got from that new reward card scheme, I am waiting (impatiently) for it to come through so I can order my little one some Pyjamas. Every year I do them a hamper on Xmas eve with pj's, a book, a bath bomb and some chocolates so I am starting to put things away for that.

Hub goes away on Monday for 2 weeks (back at weekends) a bit of a pain but I will be glad to save on food and petrol. budgets pretty tight now, but if I can make it to the end of the month then we should be a lot better off next month as I will be caught up from the holiday.

LavenderBee lIf you are considering lessons for bubba, water babies in fab. My eldest is 3 and he can swim, not very :money: though,it is a huge chunk of our cash every month, but we think it worth it.

Have a fab day everyone- almost Friday :D

    Good morning,

might just be the gym this lunchtime. No way I'm running in 60 m/h winds . Garden plants looked a bit sad this morning, hopefully they'll recover. Keep safe everybody who's got the same weather.

As the weather is a bit horrid and wintry I defrosted lamb leftovers to make cosy stovies tonight.

Planned SFD as a don't need anything and didn't bring my wallet.

Hope everybody has a good day.

Thrifty - thank you for wishing us all good sleep, it must have worked as the cat gave me an hour's lie in (4am rather than 3am :))

Mothernerd - have you seen every single swimming lesson I've had by any chance? :rotfl:

indigo - Thinking of you today

Lauren - thank you for the swimming lesson recommendation; in a few years I'll be out-swum by a 3 year old!

We have the same issues with mess fees - I dread to think how much it costs DH over the year in total. He eats in there as he lives in single accommodation all week, which he has to pay for, fine; but it's all the extras and membership fees that's annoying. He pays £10 a month for newspapers for God's sake! No-one even flippin' reads them; and they do not all need to pay £120 a year for a few newspaper deliveries! Can't avoid it sadly. And that's before I get onto the obligatory £700 mess dress...

Anyway, spend day on groceries today, spent £23.92 on Lidl, monthly spend up to £88.14/£200. Have made a note never to go on a Thursday morning again; there was hardly anything to buy! Whole aisles were empty, there was brocolli all over the floor  but yet there were still huge queues. It was like living in the communist block in the 80s (I imagine).
  • Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. It was tough but, its done now. Now to begin my journey of recovery. x

We're all here to help you on your way, Indigo xxx
Storm Hector certainly made his presence felt here today. We nearly got blown away walking through the park. Trees down, branches and leaves everywhere and a lonely council worker doing his best to clear it up. Greatly appreciated whoever he was.
So another small spendy day. Needed bread and Himself couldn't resist the half price strawberries in Aldi, We now have a HUGE bowl. I think I'll have to rehome some of them to the neighbours. Speaking of neighbours, the wee one's mother made a massive pot of curry last night so guess what we're having for dinner tonight? Maybe she would like some strawberries?
F0xh0les - I really feel for you. I am not anything like as bad but as soon as someone cuts grass I cannot stop sneezing.
    Hope everyone is well. xxx

Manged to avoid the first game of the World Cup. Not sure that I'm going to be quite so lucky with Spain/Portugal tomorrow night!

  • A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. Everything I bought today was necessary. When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible);made a todo list for today, but then failed to consult it...oops. Carryover to tomorrow.

J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th.Light target and today is my exception so 7/10

U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) food made from stores for lunch and dinner... Went to mcdonalds with the girls and bought some junk food for after,I am not including it as a spend as I am grieving. Back on it tomorrow though.

N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases..

E Eating well is a form of self respect. Comfort food
O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Waves pompoms wildly encouragingly!! Donated 4 bags of pasta and 2 jars of pasta sauce to food bank.

D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left 0.72p to savings jar

E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Walking to Tesco

S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Budget resets in a week. Waiting until tomorrow to revise it due to assessment period.

S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Done

E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. Here.

You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest.Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts today is a sad day but, I am here to survive it and will continue to try and get well for my angels. I will miss them forever.
