  • *lavender bee - you're right the glasses are usually free for dd, she's 12. The kids ones were a bit small and digging in a bit, so they showed her adult sizes, she knew exactly.which style she liked, and they had a cost :( there was a big discount off them, I just had to pay the remaining ££.

Hoping for a nsd again today, but I'll come back to post later.
I've got lots of clothes to put away today, and some housework to do while ds2 is in nursery.

I need to redo budgets today after dd's glasses and coat purchases.

Does everyone have a separate money pot for clothes? I'm thinking of transferring some money to a separate clothes account?
I don't tend to buy a lot of clothes, the boys gets handed down clothes, and I buy them pants and socks! :rotfl:
Dd likes to buy clothes, but usually saves her pocket money for them.
Me and dh just make do with what we've got. I hate clothes shopping!!

Lavenderbee - the best thing about being home during early labour is that you can make tea or food when you want it, and you know where everything is, and can distract yourself with tv /film /music etc.

You are more relaxed at home

Maybe the washing your face in the shower is something you might consider, before even thinking about getting a hot tub in the back garden and playing MSE baby-love Island.

I can swim - but I can't stick my head under and swim. It is one or the other with me at the moment. It is rational brain ( I will not drown) versus irrational brain ( you want to stick your head where???). Let's face it, in evolutionary terms, doing the whole underwater thing is just not sensible is it?
But I need to learn this skill - I have, however, taught all my 4 boys to swim underwater and they have no fear (yay! go me). It is possible.

Thanks f0xh0les - I plan to stay where the kitkats are for as long as I can, also because it gives DH more chance to get home! If it starts approaching rush hour when I'll be thinking about going in then I will start thinking strategically.

I must be the only woman hoping for a long first stage of labour!!!

    GRATITUDE

Gratitude is a wonderful way to draw more beauty into your life

I may not have everything I want in life, but I am blessed enough to have all that I need. For this I am grateful

Gratitude is one of the sweetest shortcuts to finding peace of mind and happiness inside. No matter what is going on inside us, there is always something to be grateful for.

Feeling grateful s the main cause of sustained JOY. Focusing on the gifts one has been given is an antidote to envy, resentment, regret and other negative states that undermine long-term happiness.

Things to be grateful for (choose some and continue)
    - I'm alive
    - I can breathe
    - I have intuition
    - I have talents
    - I can feel
    - I can hear
    - I can see
    - I can smell
    - I can taste
    - I can walk
    - I can talk
    - I have all/ some body parts
    - I have water
    - I have food
    - I have a place to live
    - I have friends
    - I can get friends
    - There are people/ animals who love me
    - The internet is full of free awesome things
    - I can improve my life

My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Hi everyone
Been MIA the last couple of days, just life being ultra busy but Im not complaining as its better than sitting in and doing nothing!

I'm up to 5/10 sfd, but I'm spending today but only on essentials so nothing frivolous, well extra compost and bread, milk and the like.

Eating out of the freezer, cupboards etc and finally using up some of the stuff that's been languishing at the back of everything, enjoying it really!

    Have a positive, happy day

NSD no 8, I think. I've lost count a little bit.
Woke up this morning feeling awful. It was like a terrible hangover although I hadn't been drinking. Think there's a bit of bug going about. Anyway, a bit of a lie in and I feel better now.
Have spent the morning cooking for the boy's freezer. I like cooking. It's very therapeutic
I'm spending the rest of the day reading and watching Poirot on TV.
    Early to bed I think.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
