NST June 2018 A JUNE ODESSEY (Staycation)

Hi all :j
A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. No purchasing today ! When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible); Finally got some things photographed - also for some reason some didn't, have no idea why - and also listed some on selling sites..
J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th. Aiming for tough target. Now 8/20
U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) made food from LO Bolognese sauce prepared the other day, DD arrived - v upset & tearful - but then went for food with a friend & felt better...
N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. None.
E Eating well is a form of self respect. Pretty good except for small piece of sympathy chocolate eaten with DD...
O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Waves pompoms wildly encouragingly!! Tried to be kind to DH today rather than picking on him for what he doesn't do, praise for what he does..
D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left No debt other than cc I use for all purchases to get rewards - which is paid off in full every month. Will need to get the cc bill down during the month with payments made daily (PAD thread) to avoid large bill at end of month. Daily PAD..
E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Outside early & late, sadly to water the garden yet again, please can we have some rain..
S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Have all receipts in shoebox awaiting DH revival of spreadsheet..maybe tomorrow as out today. More receipts into shoebox...still not done.
S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Will be amassing stuff to take to CS as I clear the clutter; also intend to sell better items to pay for hols booked for August. Have taken photos of shoes & sold some!! Will make donation to other charity this week, need to check euro account to see if there's enough cash first.
E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. 11/30 here I am..
You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest. Reading, learning & inwardly digesting. Felt encouraged by slow but steady progress.
Good luck on Thursday Indigo!!

Checking in for yesterday! Back to work and a NSD. DH went to the other side of the country and back to pick up our son who has just finished Uni. He's back for a week then going off camping for 3 weeks.
Dinner was from stores although DH will go shopping today but my diet was not good - I ate too much cake and biscuit and not enough veg and 'proper' food. Will try and do better today.
I think I am on NSD 5 or 6?Trying to keep in budget.

Umming and ahhing about whether to offer to visit an elderly relative this week as I'm sure baby is nowhere near coming; but I would have to go by myself (about 40 minutes drive, reckon I can do that on my foot now). The relative probably doesn't want a visit but it'll save other family members from feeling that they ought to go, it'd be more of a favour to them.
Darling LavenderBee, I will put this down to pregnancy brain.
How much would they appreciate your waters breaking on their living room couch:rotfl:? And someone coming to rescue you 40 minutes from home and 40 minutes back? in labour... with them telling you that it was daft? FOREVER
You are umming and ahhing for a reason.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Yesterday was both a NSD and a NPD (no plasterer) again.
He is coming this morning.
So, I will be plastered by tonight, (Oh the days of that have passed into memory replaced by the current horrors of lunchboxes, PE kits, and the school run).
LavenderBee - go to the cinema, meet up with someone for a coffee, go for a swim and scare the staff at the pool.
It is hard if your friends are all at work during the day, but meet up after work instead. Anything to keep your mind off the fact that basically you are waiting on small bee's timescale.
I am loving the image of you tanned on the front, and ghostly on the back. I will not mention a penguin on a zebra crossing..... oops.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

lavenderbee I was told my baby was big and he was 7lb 9- I know that isn't tiny but it isn't huge either I don't think. My sister's baby was nearly 10lb....
Today is a NSD - I did spend yesterday but I tried to do so within budget. My eldest needed a hair cut, and I was in two minds about my youngest- he has curly hair and gets away with it being a bit longer. In the end I asked the hairdresser if it would be the same cost to just trim his fringe and around his ears and she ended up only charging me 50p extra. Very happy with this as it means I wont need to take him back as soon and he still looks like a baby with his curls still in tact.
My refund has come through for my baggage charge and I have paid my credit card off with it.I now have £99 in my account until payday and a tenner in my purse fairly confident that should I make it to Friday without touching my account I will be okay until the end of the month - 50 per weeks is plenty for us.
I did go for a run last night & I will go again tonight , I actually really enjoyed it and I think I slept better for it.
I hope everyone has a great day:D

Re the baby weights. Mine were both meant to be small and I always measured two or three weeks under. Both were nearly 9 pounds and the doctors were rather surprised.
Another SFD today, healthy lunch and snacks. Doing quite well on that front. Found some fish in the freezer and cooked that with the first green produce (kale, spinach, chard) and other things for dinner. Made another portion for my dinner tonight as DH won't be back till later.
Didn't fancy a swim yesterday but dragged myself away from the desk and what a difference it made. Longish run today.
As DH was away last night I just spend the evening pottering about, decluttering, cleaning etc. Very productive night. Same again this morning before work. Also spend time in the garden weeding, putting out slug repellents and other general gardening.
Even managed to read before bed. So off to update my spreadsheets to the correct numbers and then back to work.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Saying NO
You can be a good person with a kind heart and still say NO
How to Build the SAY NO Habit
1 Say no politely but firmly if you know there's no chance you wil follow through on a task. Simply tell the person that you have a few priority tasks that require your full attention and you can't afford distractions
2 Identify the mandatory tasks that can't be avoided and attach them to an important goal or value
3 Compare each request for time to your current five projects. If they don't match have the courage to say no to the requester.
4 Talk to your boss about your work projects and make sure you both agree on the priorities. Then eliminate any task or project that doesn't align with these priorities
5 Ask yourself "What will my obituary say?" Make choices based on the values that truly matter.
Sometimes you have to put everything to the side and just take care of you. Don't be afraid to say NO when it is necessary.
Positive bipolar bear
Never put your time into the hands of the ungrateful.
