A!Ask 'Is this necessary?' No spends planned, but I'm dying to book a holiday! Trying to save a bit more first to make sure that I have enough left in savings after booking.
J!June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th.!
Nsd 3 today, which is an achievement considering I only achieved 3 in the while of May!!
U!Use the food you have to base your meals on - I forgot to get anything out if the freezer, so tea will be a frozen pie, mash and beans/veg all from home.
N!No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. - no plans here.
E!Eating well - had a sarnie apple and low fat yoghurt for lunch. Not too awful.
O!Offer help and be kind - Not really had a chance who do this today in work, in an office by myself.
D!Debt or savings payments should be made first - I need to change dd dates so that they all go at once, but I know how much I have to spend anyway.
E!Exercise - I did a 5mile run yesterday, and will be doing another tomorrow, also got Parkrun on Saturday and another 10k race on Sunday.
S!Set all your budgets .
* Spends this month - £106.49 so far
S!Someone is worse off than you.
I've got a bag of baby clothes and nappies for a lady that goes to the same play group as me, I know times are hard for her as she's had to use the food bank a couple of times.!
E!Every day check in!- only missed one day so far
Y!You are the most important person in your life. .
Sent off my expenses form for today's travel, and also another tax form which i can claim some money back for travel last year. Anything I get will go towards debt and a family holiday.0 -
Beautiful sunshine today. I don't have a garden but spent some time outside tidying the communal area and cleaning the porch. Just me there and the birds singing. Very peaceful.
I woke up this morning feeling really positive and I've managed to get lots of little bits and pieces done plus I've cleared a couple of drawers in the bedroom. I really needed some space for my clothes albeit on a temporary basis. Used up celery and carrots which were getting a bit passed their best to make a spicy soup for dinner tomorrow. Healthy eating going not too badly (if you ignore the potato salad). Hoping to keep all of this up as it is making me feel so much better - I think it's the feeling of being a bit more in control. Himself did point out to me that we haven't been at home for at least half of the first five months of this year so it's not surprising that things have got a bit behind.
Otherwise NSD no 4 so that's going well so far.
I'm another one who hates loud music. I think it's really rude and inconsiderate of people to impose their choice on someone else.
Mothernerd[/B - You are a total inspiration. I don't know how you manage to fit so much into your life and have such a positive attitude.
Have a lovely evening everyone.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -

That is really kind and doesn't it just bring home how little some people have and how much help they need. It really shouldn't be like this.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -

Thanks for confirming my glasses spend as medical mothernerd - that takes me up to 3 NSD's.
Today has been a planned spendy day, I had the homeopath which I guess could have counted as medical but then decided to get the cat food, cat litter and chicken food today as well.
Then popped to supermarket for green vegetables as I had none in and needed some veg - cooked pork chop, roasted new potatoes and broccoli and carrots.
I saw this on Facebook today and thought I would post here for all those struggling:

Some of you may recall that back in Jan, we booked flights to Oz for step ds's wedding. Which they then cancelled less than a week later. And we lost about £1400. He said that they'd pay us back but we weren't expecting them to. Well, they have started to pay us back! I really apprefiate them doing so, but I'm not happy at them doing so at the same time- they need the money more than us, so I asked dh how he felt about it. He suggested accepting the money, and then when they do get married, give it to them as a present. Genius!
Today I am grateful for my dh, for my counselling session, for plenty of walking, for my kettlebell, for getting more of my marking done, for getting 7 RAW veggies down my neck at lunchtime, for plots and plans to attach bamboo poles (which I have) to the bench back and then 'decorate' with bunting of some sort, for the tennis, for the space in the garden from removing the buxus and cutting back next door's overgrownness (that's the other side from noisy little neighbour).NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

sadly a spend day today as I had to put fuel in the car and pick up a bit of fruit and milk from the shop. Not excessive and in budget but I'm still bit irked that I spent anything.
I took lunch to work (tasty salad) and left 4 bunches of flowers at the health food shop to be sold (so now I think I might be £4 in credit with them. I've just made lemon curd for the market on Saturday and tomorrow it'll be time to make meringues and crackers and lemon marmalade.
Also, my son's first dollop of rent for next years house (he's at uni, doesn't get a maintenance loan) is due this month. It's in the rent schedule but we had kind of forgotten about it so we have to find £455 for that. urgh, I hate surprises.
DH got a couple of calls about potential jobs today so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I did our spreadsheets, already too much month at the end of the money.
Eager Elephant, I do like that quote and I think there are loads of other things that life is too short for !!
Right off to bed, my me time will be sleeping well tonight I think!Trying to keep in budget.

EE lovely quote. I've written one down that made me smile - a badass one with similar sentiments to Beautiful South's 'Don't marry her' but rather more concisely put.
apple good luck with the poles and bunting
swimminginaseaofdebt it always amazed me how children would let their fathers read uninterrupted, but from infancy, even when I was breastfeeding him, DS1 would bat away any book I was attempting to read. Not just mine because I looked after some friends 3 children for a while (as well as DS1) and when their father came home early they still all came to me and let him read.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
