Another too late night and too little sleep. I blame you lot (and the badly behaved dogs). Feel most alert as we go into the evening and the weather isn't helping. Some sleep but at the 'wrong' time.

Made myself get up and get ready (DS3 was expecting a visitor and said I should have clothes on - spoilsport). Doctor's appointment at 3pm so went to a bank to return a bank card for a previous tenant sent to mum's address, a further detour to someone's house with money owed by mum.

Depression review went well, scores well down. I said the CBT was going well but mostly because I have accepted my present level of activity as the 'new normal' and try my best not to get stressed out. Also when my house is a mess, I can escape for a few hours to mum's non-messy house. He said caring could be stressful but I said it was more stressful when mum was 'in thrall' to her partner's family and I was sidelined.

A few reminders came up on his screen so he took my blood pressure (fine), pulse rate (bit fast which I think was due to the brisk walking but I am going to be sent an appointment for an ECG - more fun), weighed me (going down but a long way off what it should be), printed off forms for blood and urine tests, changed my statin prescription (good because the old one had to be taken last thing at night so is the one that gets missed occasionally) and gave me a repeat prescription for the anti-depressants (was worried that he might suggest reducing them). Will have to take mum in to have her knee examined.

Collected a form from the receptionist, handed my prescription in at the pharmacy, visited the vampires, collected the prescription and sat in the sunshine for a few minutes before catching the little bus. Also read most of a short story in the waiting room, finished it and read a second on the bus and completed a third, waiting for my taxi home.

Stayed on the bus all the way to Morries (still on 0 NSDs), bought healthy things for me, some things for mum and all the stuff for Church fair baking and cake making. Six heavy bags (taxi driver mentioned it several times). Out from 2.15pm to 5.45pm. May have had a little nap (after putting freezer stuff away (just a few bits to supplement what we have - still planning to have a proper clear out). Luckily the visitor was in because she helped with the bags and forced/ shamed DS3 into helping too.

Today I am grateful for some good health news (I survive), opportunities for reading, grateful and gracious bank staff (thanked me properly), a lovely doctor, the young vampire only hurting me once, timings working out, Morries staff member for phoning for me a taxi (weird phones there - been out of order twice, my mobile was charging), sympathetic taxi driver (I told him his headache was probably due to dehydration), having healthy fun stuff to eat (a kilo of mushrooms - woohoo, don't I know how to enjoy myself), ticking off most of mum's list. Trying for an early night:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Felt more flexible this morning so scrubbed the bathroom to within an inch of it's life - stopped when I ran out of clean rags and puff.

f0xh0les your comment about your youngest made me laugh :)

Dolly my local library does ebooks too, I'm not overly enamoured with the choice, and the waiting lists are painfully long. When we move to a different part of the UK this summer the local library does ebooks so I've crossed everything that it'll be better. Is it odd that I checked out library services long before seeing what the GP provisions for baby bee and I will be?! DH just goes to the medical officer so it's only the 2 of us I need to please in that regard at least.

    Hi all :j

A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. Have not purchased anything today...When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible); Other things overtook me today so will look at 'list' and add things that weren't on there that got done, no purchases today...tomorrow however will a different story..

J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th. Aiming for tough target. now 3/20 so far..

U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) Had 'fakeaway; not takeaway, HM Nandos was quite easy & had all ingredients in. Nandos rice was especially easy & made loads..although DD here & so not so many leftovers as there might have been.

N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. None today, see previous point..

E Eating well is a form of self respect. Eating was good & fairly healthy, even our ice cream dessert was good & quite healthy...had a tub of lo-cal ice cream bought by DD, which I scooped into cornets - from L*dly, the sort with dipped choc round the top...very tasty ..

O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Encourage all other turtles to post on here & share their world, still not feeling the love for the neighbours as bigger son now playing the drums...

D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left No debt other than cc I use for all purchases to get rewards - which is paid off in full every month. Will need to get the cc bill down during the month with payments made daily (PAD thread) to avoid large bill at end of month. need to re-stock animals food so big expense there..

E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Did get outside briefly this afternoon, then this evening to try out strimmer I found in shed..was thinking of purchasing one, but this seems to work although I'm pretty inexpert with it as yet. Seems to have a little wheel on it (?) whose purpose currently evades me..

S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Still to do..

S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Will be amassing stuff to take to CS as I clear the clutter; also intend to sell better items to pay for hols booked for August. Plus will donate to animals again. Have some items to take to CS this week, plus I will be donating my time & effort tomorrow..

E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. 4/30 here I am..

Y You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest. Some really good quotes on here thank you mothernerd - will have to make a note of them instead of reading them then forgetting instantly where they are!! Trying to form a self-appreciation society :rotfl:

B]sashanut [/B]- I hate it when people play muisc outside at volume. Those that do it are always the first to complain if someone else does it too.

dolly84 - agree - what makes me annoyed is that I can understand it if they were having a bbq or party, you expect them to maybe have music...fair enough. What they seem to have done is to convert the garage into some sort of party room where they blast out the music from...and tonight the eldest son (teenage) was bashing the drums in there at nearly 10pm. They've 2 little kids as well, one under school age...feel sorry for the older folk on the other side as it's nearer to them...:o

    Six best doctors SUNSHINE

I just want to lay down on a beach, let the SUN hit my face and forget about absolutely everything.

Come on turtles, lie down with your eyes closed for 5 minutes and feel yourself there, sun warming your body, wiggling your toes in the sand, aches and pains drifting away, smell the ozone, hear the lapping of the waves, the seagulls cries, the imprint of your veins on the inside of your eyelids, feel alive but relaxed.

Keep your face towards the sunshine and the shadows will fall behind you. Walt Whitman

    LIVE IN THE SUNSHINE :)

Tell the negative committee that meets inside your head to sit down and shut up.

Stay close to people that feel like SUNLIGHT

Some days you have to create your own SUNSHINE

VITAMIN D (which we get mainly from sunshine but also found in cod liver oil, swordfish, salmon, tuna, orange juice, sardines, liver and eggs)

    Fights infections
    naturally boosts the immune system
    destroys bacteria and viruses
    helps absorbtion of Vitamin A
    helps calcium absorbtion
    helps bone health, including teeth
may reduce some cancers by 30%
    helps maintain naormal cell growth
assists in reducing high blood pressure
boosts mood and overall feeling of wellbeing
    increases energy levels
    helps with depression
reduces the risk of pre-eclampsia in pregnant women
improves muscle strength, including the heart

There were more but that's enough.

Mothernerd I have tuna for lunch and will go for a run in the sun in an hour.

SFD today. Yesterday was a mediocre day. Had to remind myself of my achievements rather than focus on what I didn't get done. But I know the reason why the day didn't feel right - didn't plan my morning well enough (forgot the time the dentist takes out of a morning) and I wrote my to do list wrong (more like a weekly list than one for the day and phrased things wrong i.e. not specific enough or small enough task = overwhelmed-ness).

Oh and I had one smoke last night. However, it's done, won't beat myself up about it or dwell on it. New better day today.

Today started much better and will hopefully continue.

    No sunshine for me!
I'm staying under my rock, I can get sunburn just by standing on the playground for 5 minutes getting the kids! So medical exemption for me from sunlight please mothernerd. I make my own vit D cos I am a mutant.

Baby plasterer cancelled on me again (the swine).
Will try again tomorrow (he reckons)

    So NSD 2/31

Laundry, hoovering, tidying, moving stuff about.

Invaded the back room, pillaged, rampaged, imposed order, retreated.

The kitchen however, is a different story - an unfinished one, it might turn out ok.

High five for the vitamin D recommendation mothernerd (ok, I'm not actually a high fiving sort of person, but the sentiment is there!). Pleased to say I got plenty at the weekend :) we're back to usual overcast here now but DH dug my lounger out and it's accessible at the front of the shed should the opportunity knock again (we don't have any other garden furniture). I burn easily too, we both do, so plenty of sun lotion applied first. Safety first :)

NSD 4/10 today. Another indoors day, did a full house clean in preparation for visitors, the visitors, bath and knitting planned.

Today marks my second nsd :). Made a large batch spagbol so that will do me for the next week or so. Got enough into last until I get paid. Got SW tonight which is already paid for so will keep purse at home. Feeling a lot more positive today as I have come to accept that my children may come and find me and I have to LIVE for them.

Greatful for good friends, Jeremy Kyle and roof over my head.
