  • afternoon folks.

v excited about hte last ep of heroes - it's on next week ad I can't wait!! Glad to see SKintCatt feeling better today too. Bails - Christmas 2008 is a looooong way off. Thats 12 months to either come up with an excuse, plot dark things to do to p her off or hire a hitman/bus driver to solve your problem. You'll be fine!

Victory, your post about self control REALLY struck a chord with me. I think we may have some of the same similar compulsive eating tendencies. I too just cannot stop at the one of whatever it is and will go on to finish the packet even if it makes me feel sick. I'm trying to wean myself off this but it is very difficult. Why do we have such complicated relationships with food and bodyshape?

Yay, I get to answer Petrichors question! Can't tell when or where secret santa comes from but the idea is that a group of you get together and instead of buying presents for everyone you draw names out of a hat( or whatever) and just buy one present for that person to the set budget. The theory is that the recipient never knows who it was who actually sent it. I have a variation of this for my christmas party which is 'stealing santa' - you just buy a random present and then draw straws for what order you open them. When it's your turn you can either open a new one, or steal one that someone has already opened.

Please include me for the december chart too I need something to stay focussed on the run upto xmas.

Good news today my cousin had a baby girl this morning. Lacey May, she was 8lb 15 & born at 8.22 was 4 days late & will be a little sister for Jasmine Ann.

Tomorrow should be TOTM for me so fingers crossed that i'll miss it & be expecting my number 2. My cousin & me do everything 9 months apart you see. I am 9 months older than her, was married 9 months before her & my DD is 9 months older than her first DD so fingers crossed the trend will continue this time. On the down side I've worked out that if i am pregnant then I'll be due 8 days before my DD's 3rd birthday. We'v been trying now for nearly 18 months & every time I hear that someone I know is expecting their 2nd I get really upset & cry alot cos I wish it was me.

Right off now to buy something pretty for baby Lacey then to take Maddison to Christmas club.
Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.

Sorry about the half pound georgiebrown, in the grand scheme of things 1/2lb could be anything, so try not to worry about it and hopefully next week will show a better result :)

Probably have:D I deal with it now by not having it at all, in the house, don't buy it, don't have it when we got out, it is just not an option to have 1 or 2:D it is very difficult, boredom gets me, long hours ahead of nothing to do but...eat:rotfl: :rotfl: have addressed that when I see it coming on I go and do something, anything and wait until it is actually lunch time or dinner and then eat. I should def exercise more but some days are more difficult than others (to counter act the calorie intake and be able to eat a bit more) so that ends up not really an option, so mine is more watch every bit of food going in and ban everything:rotfl: just bought the WW point scales so off to try them, for £34.99 they had better be...priceless:rotfl: :rotfl:

Doc rang, hospital tomorrow not today:D knee looks like a melon and keeps reminding me of one, how tasty it would be but have not got one in:rotfl: :D

suggs told you it was water retention, well done on the missing 2lb loss:D

    Hi everyone

Just treated myself to a hot stone massage which was absolutely lovely (especially as I'd just been to Ikea, although surprisingly it wasn't that bad today). The theory is that the stones warm the muscles so the therapist can get deeper into the tissue, so it's meant to be 3 times more effective than a normal massage. I was so spaced afterwards, in a good way; will definitely be foregoing lots of other things so I can save up for another one :D

    Skint Catt
, glad to hear you are going to give it another go on the shopping front, be kind to yourself and I hope you find something you feel fabulous in.
GeorgieB, Suggs is right, half a pound is very small - keep logging on and we'll help you all we can. Glad to hear about the mysteriously disappearing 2 lbs Suggs!

, sorry to hear about the knee flaring up again, hope it gets drained soon. You are always so positive in spite of everything!

BB, can I be added to the December Challenge please? Thanks.

Just tried to persuade my mum that we don't need starters or lots of rubbish this Christmas - she reckons we'll have starters as one of our friends is diabetic and so likes them instead of puddings, but she is thinking of small portions at least. She's also agreed that if our friends are okay with it we'll have less rubbish (she says she feels obliged to take it as we're going to theirs) but I would imagine that she bought it all months ago so I expect it'll still be around. She only has 0.5 pound to reach target herself so maybe she'll be a bit different this year, although I am not holding my breath :DKPC, those ideas for next Christmas are stored for future reference :rotfl:I've always wanted to spend the day at a homeless shelter so that might be a good year to...

Right, I'm off to put my Ikea drawer units together so I can organise my desk and become a diva of efficiency (yeah, right - a little less incompetent at least :D) x

I've given up worrying about Christmas. I tried to get away with not going back home, got the filthiest of looks from my mother, and gave up that arguement! Problem is, I *really* like Christmas. It's always a big thing at home, and well, it only happens once a year. I'll be back on good behaviour from Boxing Day through to New Years Eve, and then again from January 2nd.... lol. Guess it would be a little better if it wasn't my birthday just over a week later, but hey, at least I get all the partying done in one go... ;)

Well done to all the losers this week! :)

I've just been preparing for MrsA's surprise birthday meal tomorrow. In the end I cut it down to five courses, not six. I've made the things I won't have time to do during the day tomorrow as I've stupidly arranged to play (indoor) golf in the middle of the day . So, I've done the soup and the sorbet.

The plan was to do the sorbet today as she's supposed to be out Xmas shopping until 8pm at the earliest, meaning I'd have time to pop out and keep beating the sorbet..... but no, Walsall is closed (!!!) so she's on her way back now... grrrr. I need to find excuses to pop out to the freezer a couple of times tonight now.

Here's the menu which I'm going to print out and leave on the laid table tomorrow :)

Not bad SW wise - soup is free, bread roll is a HeB. Pepper is a long pepper stuffed with rice or couscous so totally free. Linguine would be free but she asked for a Quorn Escalope so she's sort of getting that, just not how she expected, she'd have thought I'd have bunged it with some Bachelors savoury rice lol.....so that's 8 syns. Sorbet is 4 syns, so then it's just a case of how many Cadbury's Heroes she has with her coffee. She better blinking appreciate it now!! :)

Sorry if I sound like a kid :D

Bails, can I come round and fiddle with your drawers please? ;) No, seriously, I love assembling flatpack stuff, I'd do it as a job in my next life if I could
