Just a quick post as I'm working on the chart.
I don't know why you guys are afraid of the chart stopping for a fornight. We're all going to have to face Christmas after we've acheived goal. I thought suspending it for a week meant that we'd all have a practice run at maintaining.
Brighton belle If you want to post the chart over christmas (remembering that Boxing Day is the day the chart is posted and it's highly unlikely anyone will post anything on here on those 2 days). feel free.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Hi Everyone,
Even earlier this week than any other but I think the results are in from everyone so far.
congratulations to ANICSlimmer of the challenge with an amazing 12.5lbs off this month!
Well done also to Raphael, Pixiedust, Julesgr and Grannynise who all made this month's challenge!
Congratulations also to The Dragon and Beanilou this week's joint slimmers of the week with 2.5lbs off each.
This months challenge is now finished. I think Brighton belle has suggested running a challenge for the next 3 weeks and making the target 4lbs. Start a list if you want to join in.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

I'd only do it if people wanted it delly - I personally have no prob with no chart over Xmas, and I'm lucky to not be worried over what I will/won't eat, it's just some folks seemed worried, but in reality, we'll still be available for support on line peeps,so the absence of a chart (and as you say, who's going to be posting boxing day) shouldn't make a difference.
I'll run the chart to the 19th as you suggest. As it's only 3 weeks peeps, shall we drop the target to 4lbs?
Thanks for this weeks chart - you seem to have forgotten my 9lb loss this week :rotfl:

Thanks for doing the chart again Delly and for the congratulations on me being Slimmer of the Month but I feel like a fraud!!!
I think Julsgr should also be slimmer of the month.
I didn't lose all 12.6 lbs in one month - the first 6.6lbs were over a five week period (from 8th October - 12th November).
At that time I was visiting the doctors to get weighed once a month and then posting my results when I got back.
I felt I wasn't really able to join the challenges properly and wanted the motiviation so started weighing myself weekly from then on.
Sorry if this has caused any confusion but I would hate people thinking I had done absolutely fantastically well losing 17lbs one month and 12.5 the next when it wasn't quite as good an achievement as it sounded (well I know I have done well losing the total amount so far but hopefully you know what I mean). I don't want to take the "glory" when it is equally deserved by others.
I hope that makes sense.0 -

bless you for your honesty anic! maybe you should share with Jules? You also should grab yourself some discworld books and prepare to be entertained. They are a series of fantasy novels set in a sort of medieval/victorian world where there is magic and mayhem. I think that you would probably like the books with the witches who are just terrific - the first one is wyrd sisters which may remind you of a certain scottish play . . . .
not been able to wear my boots today (sulk) as been traipsing round the bbc good food show. Remained more or less in control but succumbed at the GU stand and bought some stuff which is now sitting in the fridge with the syn count marked on it in pen! Also bought some 4foot long cinnamon sticks. I cannot imagine what i will do with them but it just looked so great i had to have it.
Blue tartan shoes beanie woo! liking them. You can think about david tennant whilst wearign them too as the doctor wears baseball boots and DT is scottish. what a result!
Glad to hear Victory is happy with new boots too - here's hoping it's not too long before you can get yourself better and start showing them off. Awww skint catt, don’t be upset hon. I hate hate hate clothes shopping, i just end up feeling like a big fat troll no matter how much reassurance anyone gives me. I bet things aren't as bad as you thought but thats no real help is it? I too have issues with ankles and calves - I don't really have ankles, my calves seem to grow right out of my feet. Bails and the others are right though – the right footwear will solve your problems. Get something with a heel and your calves will elongate and magically lose inches. They could be wedges, cuban heels, stilettos whatever but that will work - and for extra confidence boots are always the way to go. I know you are all laughing indulgently at me about my boots fetish but honestly, they have made me feel so much better about myself i can't tell you. I never understood people who got a thrill from shopping but i think maybe i do now.
Go jen! and nice to see alphonse back pet. And yet more great smileys too. your posts never fail to cheer me up. Well done to all the losers and our achievers this week - a new job for emmalis, a successfully installed avatar from ajax and a passed exam for suggs! We're all on a roll!!0 -

What you say is completely true Delly, we are going to have to face Christmas after goal and perhaps that is also something that we are not yet ready for. My initial panic about the chart is silly really as I never make the challenge anyway, it's just the added incentive of 'going public' with my WL for the week that does help. More importantly, it's the support on here and the daily banter that I love, and yes, sad as it may be, I do take a lot from this group that I cannot get elsewhere at the mo. I'm not going to go into meltdown without the chart so I'm happy with the decision taken; the issues I have around Christmas are mine to deal with.
Well done Jenpoptab for reaching goal, you must be over the moon! :T:j
Beanie, I would like to echo what BB said, you are an inspiration to me too so thank you and well done again.
Well done to Julesgr, Beanie and The Dragon for SOTW and to Anic for SOTM! Go girls! :T:j:T:j
Victory, glad you've got your knee sorted, wonder what caused it?
Thankyou for the chart this month Delly and to BB for taking it on over Christmas, it is much appreciated.
With all this talk of boots and heels, I'm thinking I could go out and get some to surprise my OH - I don't think he's ever seen me in heels. Not sure I can handle the shopping (or the expense though)...
