Well done all you slimmers! to those that have lost this week don't lose heart after all the thought of Xmas food used to make me put on lbs!!!

Suggs great news on your pass

victory I hope the knee calms down soon

Well done anic sotm and to our fist time sotw tooo:D

19 Dec is my last week at RC until 9th Dec - initially was panicking but then thought never mind it's only two weeks and I CAN cope lol. The worst thing for me is the the lack of exercise as my usual aqua classes would be on Xmas eve and NYeve so am planning to boogey al night long instead .

My news for this week is a 1lb loss which takes me ever closer to my first major target of 3 stone which I really hope to achieve by next week but have a few obstacles to get over, namely Tea at the Savoy tomorrow and going with OH to see his kids for the last time before Xmas on Saturday so there will be an abundance of chocs etc! May even step onto the [STRIKE]clothes rack[/STRIKE] cross trainer for a bit this week.
    Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j

What you say is completely true Delly, we are going to have to face Christmas after goal and perhaps that is also something that we are not yet ready for. My initial panic about the chart is silly really as I never make the challenge anyway, it's just the added incentive of 'going public' with my WL for the week that does help. More importantly, it's the support on here and the daily banter that I love, and yes, sad as it may be, I do take a lot from this group that I cannot get elsewhere at the mo. I'm not going to go into meltdown without the chart so I'm happy with the decision taken; the issues I have around Christmas are mine to deal with.

Oh dear Bails- when I read back my original post it sounded terrible. I didn't mean to offend or upset you by what I said and for that I apologise. Of course the chart is there for a reason and a very good one too. It was just that I knew it was meant to be posted on Boxing Day and was pretty sure that no-one would be posting their results as usual on Monday or Tuesday (Christmas Eve & Day).

If I'm perfectly honest I've been worried about backtracking over the holidays as well. I usually have a week off - no exercise and lots of eating and so far I'm completely disorganised which isn't like me at all. I think the reason why I 'm so disorganised is because I don't want to acknowledge it's so close. I don't know if I've already said but we've decided to have a family christmas at home this year, just me, OH and DS. Part of the reason for that is because I have "I want it" syndrome! My Mum has all sorts of goodies that she brings out after Christmas dinner and I want some of it all.

We decided this year that the most important thing for us was to keep some control of the food - keeping it simple - no starters, standard turkey dinner, and either trifle or ww xmas pudding for dessert . It means that we may miss out on the fun of my extended family but I'll save myself some serious indigestion and side effects from my operation. Besides, we've decided to call over to my mum's for a few hours after dinner and then pick some friends up and have a night in with FRIENDS at my house for a change.

Sorry, a rather long and rambling post that didn't seem to go anywhere but you know what I mean.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.

    well done jules

Nothing to do with me the next bit I guess now target weight has been reached but my heart goes out to the people on here that are getting worried and panicky about the chart not being there, not the same I know but I felt very distressed when the chart for me was maybe going to be ceased because of having reached target but thankfully I am still at the bottom of the list:D

The truth is I need it, I need to go every tuesday to boots and breath out on the scales and close my eyes real tight, open them and then breath a huge sigh of relief when it is a happy outcome.:D

The thing is be it easter/summer holidays at home with the kids all day/xmas parties/xmas day NYE, all those food temptation days are always going to be there, I am going to tackle it by swapping all the high calorie stuff for WW low calorie, if it is outside and I have not prepared it, go straight for the salad with a little bit of what you fancy, not like the greedy pig I used to be where I was sure they had set up the buffet table just for me:rotfl: :rotfl: sharing not an option and seconds and thirds def a safe bet:rotfl: :rotfl:

No one has to be good all the time, every single family gathering, every party and never eat/drink be merry again but it is about restraint, trusting yourself within the food area, having some but not all as I used to, enjoying what you do have and compensating for it the next day with extra exercise or cutting down on the food intake.

I have given up feeling guilty, we all want it, we all want to join in and say sometimes 'to hell with the calories' just make sure it is 80% good and 20% bad, celebrate, raise a glass and enjoy it;)

No Delly, my post has been misunderstood (and reading back over it I can completely see why - aren't texts/email a nightmare sometimes?). I am not upset or offended at all, I was just trying to say that is possible to feel two opposing things at the same time. If my smilies had been working it might have been easier to see the 'mood' of my post, like this :D

I am hoping that people will be about to post in the run up to and post-Christmas, that's what I am looking forward to most - being able to log on and help each other out if we've pigged out etc! I think it's natural to worry about backtracking after all the hard work we've put in. Your plan sounds like a great one to me, and if and when we have a family I'll certainly be opting to stay at home sometimes. We're with my family this year so guess what - yep, I'll be spending it with the Dementor next year...now, there's a reason to overeat!! :rotfl::rotfl:
