delly you say in your post that no starters for xmas day dinner, we went to Aldi and got lobster, crab, crab sticks (my kids love them) and salmon so we are having a healthy fish starter, obviously not all of them at the same time, we used to have laden with mayonnaise prawn cocktail but this year it is all change and am lokking forward to the fish, hope that helps.

Back to the hospital for me, knee swallon more than yesterday so rang them and they are ringing back with a time, oh the pain:eek: they said yesterday when they drained it that maybe it could come back and oh boy did it:rotfl:

I have been reading an article on binge eating/depriving yourself and the reaction you and your body has to it, it is very interesting because I could see myself in a lot of what the nutritionalist/professionals were saying....since this diet started I have deprived myself of a list as long as your arm to get to goal which is great in itself but you end up feeling left out/resentful and the more you are not allowed it or should not have it, the more the beautiful picture builds up in your mind of how fab it would be to have, the longer this goes on according to the article the more you will be prone to shovelling it in like a naughty school child...

The article goes on to say would it not be best to have those 2 and only 2 biscuits you fancy, rather than ignoring what you and your body asks for, leaving it to escalate and then having the entire box in defiance? I agree and I am working on it because when you think about it, have 2 and move on, sounds simple but it worries me that 2 would be 4, 4 would be 8, it is back to trusting yourself ,enjoying without guilt and moving on:D

Please put me on the chart for December too, BB. I need the discipline of posting to keep me on the straight and (trying to be) narrow. Thank you so much for offering to do it. I'll do it one day soon ... if someone will tell me how.

Thinking of you Victory --- I hope the hospital can help today. I'm so impressed that with all the pain you're experiencing you're still managing to find, and share with us, useful advice.
  • Morning lovely peeps! :hello:

Soooooo, after my slight (!) setback last week of putting 4lb on :o , am pleased to report 1.5lb off this week :j . Not quite back to where I was but better than expected. I've not been able to post much so have had loads to catch up on!!!

Victory, sorry to hear of all the pain you've had with your knee hope the hospital get it all sorted out soon.

Emmalis - I'm a bit late but congrats on the job! Glad it looks like its going to go well - and you made me giggle when you mentioned the awful H&S films, I've seen so many of those at our company and the quality really is awful!!!! :D

Suggs - CONGRATULATIONS on passing the exam, we knew you could do it, looks like the extra couple of days paid off in the end

Bails - grrrr to the benefits people   - I'm trying to get my MIL's sorted at the moment (even though I can't stand the woman, it's better I get them sorted than she ends up coming to stay with us  ) I think our system is completely shot to pieces but there doesn't ever seem to be anything said about a review or anything - the political parties are too busy revelling in each others scandals to pay attention to what really matters to the people of this country. OK, I'll get off my soap box now!!

BB - hugs on the WI this week, and a massive thank you for sorting out the chart over the Xmas break and also for doing the Secret Santa :T - I'm happy with £6 but just let me know what the general consensus is.

jen - you've reached your goal and it's a stone off!!!! Congratulations, you must feel fantastic! :j

Starlight - 8.5 stone!!!!!!!!! I'm in awe what a fantastic achievement!

Anic & Jules - congratulations on SOTM, and The Dragon and Beanie for SOTW!! Some amazing losses in there, you're all such an inspiration especially at a time of year which we all agree is that much harder than others to stay focussed.

Apologies if I've missed anyone - congrats to all those who have achieved what they wanted this week whether to lose or to maintain, and big hugs to those who haven't quite achieved what they wanted. Silly season has started at work now so I may not be around too much although my green light might be on as I may get a chance to lurk but not post!! :D I need my MSE fix in order to function!! Plus the support I find on this thread helps keep me motivated - in the past when I've been on a diet (rather than the lifestyle change I'm now trying for with RC classes) a gain like last week would have demotivated me to the point of giving up and putting on more weight than I'd lost. Thanks to you guys I've stuck with it and am not as worried about Xmas now as I have been - thankyou to each of you for giving me that positivity.

    LOL

    JM xxxx :rudolf:

EDIT - forgot to add meself to the monthly challenge list!!

Oh Skinty! Please don't be upset :grouphug: . Remember that yesterday you thought that you'd put on 4lbs but in fact you have lost not gained :T :T . Did you really look lumpy in that dress? Did your ankles really look so bad? It was perhaps because you're feeling a bit low. I'm sure your OH will think you look fabulous, so go and treat yourself and have a lovely time next week

    xxxx

Thanks. I will try again but I may treat myself to a bodyshaper underwear to help my esteem ;)

Skint Catt, so sorry to hear about your depressing shopping experience, maybe Pet is right about that too? (she seems to be right today, well done Petrichor!) Perhaps have another go when you feel more positive and you may surprise yourself. Or how would you feel about buying the next size up (this will depend on the style of dress of course, don't want to look like you're sporting a tent!). If you can handle going up a size (which noone but you will ever know about - cut that offensive ticket out:D), it may just help you feel a million dollars! And I'm sure that your OH will just love to see your legs out and think you look amazing (no offence boys, but men can be simple creatures, don't notice half the things we do!). Big hugs and knock 'em dead next week! (alternatively, why not wear some knee high boots if you're upset about your legs/ankles - job done I reckon!)

Thanks :o The dress was a good size - maybe with my bodyshaper underwear I may even go down a size! I will persevere and go shopping one evening on my own and find something amazing for him (and me of course!) :D

    Catt xx
  • Well done anic :T (don't knock it, it's still a fabulouse achievement:j )...and Congratulations to both beanielou :j and The Dragon :j as joint S'OTW :T this will help you keep focused over the next few weeks (Christams/Yule)...

...Well done also to julesgr :j and justmarried :j ...

...delly We skipped starters last year too as we couldn't decide what to have for a change and found that we didn't miss it. DD had been invited out last year, and though she's at home this year (I think) I don't think we'll bother again this year either. However, even though I'd watched my calorie intake pretty well, I was drinking for England so the weight still piled on - about a stone :o until I decided to join in here in January. This year will be so different, giving it a lot thought with the help of the lovely peeps here...

...Re the secret santa:santa2:, can anyone tell me why it's so called? Never heard of it until this week:o . We will also have to take into account the last posting dates. Will we be opening them on the 25th?:D ...

...Hmmm! No Suggs since yesterday afternoon 6kf28mq.gif I wonder if he's still celebrating ;)...

    xxxx
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!
