Lost 1/2 lb even though I feel fat (well I am, but thats another story).

Even more depressed now as my OH has a leg 'thing' and wanted me to wear a skirt/dress to his xmas do a week on Friday (I NEVER wear skirts) - just tried some skirts and a dress on in the shop - the dress was gorgeous but I looked all lumpy and the skirts were great except my usually slimmish ankles are not cankles - feel like crying!

Oh Skinty! Please don't be upset :grouphug: . Remember that yesterday you thought that you'd put on 4lbs but in fact you have lost not gained :T :T . Did you really look lumpy in that dress? Did your ankles really look so bad? It was perhaps because you're feeling a bit low. I'm sure your OH will think you look fabulous, so go and treat yourself and have a lovely time next week

  • Hard luck ajax on the gain but at least you know where the problem lies. You could always treat yourself at weekends to 1 (one) loaf, just don't load it with butter or fattening stuff, it's so much harder to eat it that way and you soon get fed up (experience). Glad you've succumbed to an avatar, I think that's where I lifted it from :D ...

...delly Love your new avatar :j dare I say it's very apt, No? Oh well in that case ajax told me to say that :rotfl: ...

What are you suggesting Pet ;)

I have a very apt smiley but I don't think it would be allowed ;) ...EDIT I've just checked and it's really all about the hazards of smoking in a bed, which seems to shake now and then for some reason :confused:8brl66g.gifCrumbs!! Haven't they got some energy!!!:rotfl:

Go Suggs, go Suggs! :T Nice one on the exam, take Pet's advice, whatever she means...:rotfl:

Skint Catt, so sorry to hear about your depressing shopping experience, maybe Pet is right about that too? (she seems to be right today, well done Petrichor!) Perhaps have another go when you feel more positive and you may surprise yourself. Or how would you feel about buying the next size up (this will depend on the style of dress of course, don't want to look like you're sporting a tent!). If you can handle going up a size (which noone but you will ever know about - cut that offensive ticket out:D), it may just help you feel a million dollars! And I'm sure that your OH will just love to see your legs out and think you look amazing (no offence boys, but men can be simple creatures, don't notice half the things we do!). Big hugs and knock 'em dead next week! (alternatively, why not wear some knee high boots if you're upset about your legs/ankles - job done I reckon!)

Thanks Ajax, no time now but reply later. Your logic is exactly as I thought! :D

Bit scared by the chart decision but I aint gonna mess with Little Miss Bossy :D I'm sure I'll live.

Hey peeps, I've just PM'd delly to say I am very happy to do the chart in Dec. If peeps are worried about a break between 19th Dec and 2nd Jan, then delly and all, I'd be happy to run it all the way through til Delly's able to pick it up again on 2nd Jan. Delly and efrieze have done agreat job, and it's a busy time of year if you have families, so I'd be very happy to give something back to you all as a mega thanks for all the suppoort ,laugh and sense of belonging you've all given me on the forum since I joined in the summer:T .

I am so Happy as I have got back to my goal weight today. That's 14lb to date and I hope to lose another couple of lb by Christmas so that i can overdo it slightly over the festive period and then get back on the path to slimdom in the new year.

Good luck to you all this week.

  • :Dok peeps, weigh in time... 2lbs on I'm afraid. Disapointing but not the end of the world. I've just found it difficult being so tired becasue of the back/sleeping in chair: I've been eating extra to find some energy, rather than just for comfort. BUt, it must stop here as I really wanted to hit my 2 stone target for Xmas. Probably not poss now, but I need to get this extra off in the next few weeks.
Beanie - brilliant on the 2stone mark - you are an inspiration because I know you have mobility issues and the loss has come very slowly in .5lb increments so really helpful for me:T .
Ajax: he who plays with the tools of satan getteth burnt. ;) . Skint Catt - total sympathy, shopping can be so depressing. I think trying the next size up may help(as bails says, ONLY you will know), and /or one of those all in one underwear things that smooth the lumps and bumps into curves? I tend to shop through catelogues as it is always less depressing than trying on stuff in shops. Boots would not only solve the ankle problem but look really sexy, with a kitten heel. If hubby wants to show you off, then he must think you are well worth showing off and it would be great to indulge him in the skirt/dress thing.
Retired lady - 1lb off :T I say trust yourself - enjoy being social and know you WILL get back on plan in between. Suggs - speaking scales deserve semtex and a timer. You know you are going to go up and down a few lbs, that's a normal part of maintaining. There is no way your body will literally stay the same to the exact lb. all the time. Do you have a leeway figure in your head that will be your signal that you need to reign in? Brilliant on the exam:j
Efrieze - this is perhaps the time to test the new you -prove to yourself you can relax a little and not let go completely, wouldn't that be wonderful to know you CAN do it.
Victory - you keep so cheerful in the faceof much pain and I totally salute you. Do hope Dr can help. Bails -4lb in amonth - that is brilliant isn't it. That is the best you have done I think? That shows that the stuff you are addressing is having a great knock on effect. As for the benefit situation I am furious:mad:  . I was in the same boat myself once. It really makes me wants to write to my MP about this.
Starlight and Tiby : welldone - really chuffed you think we've helped Tiby, thanks, and stay with us. And fab Jen for reaching target.
Hope I've remembered everyone. Just bought my first advent calender :D for a bit of fun. Goodgrief, I'll be buying a xmas tree next!

    Well done everyone this week.

congratulations Suggs on passing your exam

Despite having a bad week this week foodwise I managed 1lb off this week. 15lbs in total only another 55lbs to go.

I'm going into Norwich on Monday cos i need a dress for my yummy mummy's xmas do so i'm going to see if I can get a coat while i'm there. I found a gorgeous black satin fifties style calf length strapless dress in select for £25 in my size the other week. Had a look yesterday & was all geared up to go & try it on & they'd sold it. Gonna see what primark & george have got in on monday. Wish i could go at the weekend & take hubby with me to get his opinion & to keep our DD entertained but i've got to work all weekend. Unless we go late night tomorrow night but then DD will get tired & grumpy so guess I'll stick to monday.

Got DD's playschool photos back today. They are gorgeous £22 for 1 big one 2 medium ones, 6 smaller ones & 10 mini ones, gonna put them in xmas cards for family.
Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.
