    Anyone..........

Welcome shinkyshonky. I'm not following a plan as such - just calorie counting and I use the same website as The Dragon's OH.

    www.calorie-count.com

I use this to keep my food diary on a daily basis and some of the recipes. I know others on the thread use Slimming World, Weight Watchers, etc and have used Scottish Slimmers myself in the past but I fancie the idea of just trying calorie counting and found this was ideal - as long as you are honest with yourself i.e. remember to put everything in your diary when you eat it - don't try and fill it in at the end of the day - you are bound to forget that wee extra that you had.

The support you get on this thread is great too. Everyone is very friendly and supportive and it all helps in the long road ahead.

    good luck.

    welcome ss:D

No bad effects from taking the tablets yesterday apart from this morning when I woke up my legs were excruciatingly painful to walk on:cool: thinking of taking the day off as I can only crawl rather than walk, don't know what that is about but now that I have gone back to normal eating my numbers are fine so it can't be that, maybe the tablets have to makethe arthritis worse to get better(clutching at straws here now:rotfl: :rotfl: ) let's hope the day eases them, every day in pain and this is quite something:D

    well done thedragon

Oh Victory - you poor soul - I hope you are not in pain for long. Hopefully it is either a temporary thing or something unrelated to the tablets that will ease off quickly and hopefully the medication will kick in soon and you will be back to walking on air.

Ouch Victory - that sounds as bad as mine! I have succumbed to putting an anaesthetic patch on my ankle again (it helps the pain but makes me feel sick!)

Thanks for the well done! I was feeling miserable, sore and fed up until I realised that in the past three years I have actually lost weight and kept it off! which when you cannot walk/exercise is pretty good going I think!

SS - make sure there is a dash in the calorie count dot com site address otherwise you go to an advert site (https://www.calorie-count.com)

  • wow dragon, that is one serious achievement. Victory, I hope that pain is easing off now. If you can't get on with ordinary green tea the jasmine stuff is lovely - pm me if you want to know more cos i can send you some. I have - once again - a 0.2kg loss to report. I think it's the same 0.2kg every week! Still, better off than on. It's weird, I know i've gained since this time last year, but most of my clothes fit in a very similar way. Still, no excuse, still got to get into my 40s dress which is still hanging in the lounge. I've set myself a minitarget for when i next try it on so i'll report back when that happens.

Suggs, your boots sound fab but mine are better - they are victorian style black ones with buttons that go up to mid calf. OH had to go for a prolonged lie down after he saw them. If you read discworld then you'll understand what i mean when i say they make me feel all Susan Sto Helit. Bails that sounds like one scary talk. Good luck. I'm getting broody myself actually - one of the guys at work brought in pics of his brand new grey weimeraner puppy and i've gone all gooey. Granny, so sorry to hear about your loss - i hope things are going okay for you and the family.

Emmalis, congrats on the job. I loved working in retail, you do get a huge buzz from shifting those queues. I used to work at McDs and on the nearest sat before christmas we could turn over 5 £3k hours back to back. Not bad on an average cheque of abut £4 - we worked it out to 1 transaction per till every 90 seconds!

Completely fallen off the waggon. Got SW weigh in tonight and I'm sure I've added 4lbs to my waist :( Evening meals ok, but I get bored with lunches and with OH away at the weekend, I ate choc and nachos and dip. :( Just can't get my a**e in gear at the mo and I was doing so well. New week tomorrow though, so I may give myself a talking to tonight!

Congrats to all those who are losing though! :)
