Anic well done on your fab 2lb loss. Does it feel crazy to have an 18 year old son? My son is 9 and I can't believe how quickly the last almost-decade has gone!

Unfortunately - yes I still think of myself as quite younish but it does make me feel old that my oldest is now 18 (and the youngest 15). Like you I can't believe how the time has flown in.

I decided to be really cruel to him and printed off loads of posters with his baby photos on with the intention of sticking them on the lamp posts from where he gets off at the bus stop all the way home to the house but I chickened out of it at the last moment as I knew how embarassed he would be so just stuck them all over his bedroom - his entire room - you can no longer see any of the grey painted walls or the mirrored wardrobe - I even stuck them on the "inside" of his roller blind so when he pulls that down there are yet more photos. You should have seen his face when he opened his bedroom door.

On the food side, we always loved the giant cookies out of Millies so I bought him one and couldn't resist having a tiny little bit. It tasted absolutely disgusting. The thing is it was only me that thought that - everyone else thought it was as lovely as normal. I must be like Victory - my tastes are changing and I don't enjoy the things I used to.

  • Hi all - my god I don't come on here for 2 days & its gone biserk. A bit like Tesco's yesterday.

Thanks for all your messages of good luck about the job & sympathy for the dog. Hubby's had to babysit our 2 year old all weekend so hasn't had much time to dwell. But i still daren't mention the d.o.g word in case it sets him off.

Tesco's went really well. Sat was 4.5 hours of form filling & watching silly H&S videos, & half hour facing up the shelves. Yesterday was mad. They've decided to open the front doors early on a sunday but we can't sign on the tills & serve till dead on 10.00 so we had queues from the very start. I had to stand behind & watch for 45 mins then take over with my partner watching that I was doing it all ok. unfortunately I was paired up with a supervisor who watched me serve 1 customer then had to go off & red light run so I was left to get on with it. Luckily with the new tills you are back to back with someone else who can help if you get stuck. I had a constant stream off customers until 4.15 even though store closes at 4.00 & every till was open the whole shift with at least 2 customers deep & apparently its gonna get worse. Saying that though I really enjoyed it & was even offered overtime but couldn't do any of the available shifts because they started too early. Looking forward to next shift on sat but as its a 24 hour store it will be a bit different to the sunday shift & i'm there 9.30-6.30 so long day & 8th dec i've got a yummy mummy's xmas meal to go to & i've got to be there for 7.00 to eat at 7.30 so will have to change in the loos at work & go straight there so i'm gonna be knackered for the sun shift. Diet has kinda taken a back seat for the last few days so not expecting miracles this week will be pleased to sts i need a good kick up the bum!!!

bye for now night everyone xxx
Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.

shinkyshonky - check out the very first post on the very first page. There are links to calorie counting websites. Basically, it helps you work out how many calories per day you should be eating to lose the recommended 1 -2lbs per week in a healthy manner.

There are also links to slimming club websites if you'd prefer to follow one of their programs but it's rarely free. Sometimes it's just as easy to buy the Slimming world or WW membership books on ebay and follow them for yourself.

We are a friendly bunch on here despite the lack of a reply to your first post. Let me know if you want to sign up to any of the thread's challenges (2lb club or monthly challange's the chart is posted on a wednesday night). I'm running the chart for this month but am due to hand it over after Wednesday. Good luck with the weight challenge and keep posting to let us know how you get on.
