Morning all,
I tried to read back, but the place was festooned with chocolate covered kittens...
My weigh in is tonight. I suspect I have lost NOTHING, as I've just been eating as normal this week! TOTM though, so perhaps more chocolate cravings than usual, and I've had a wisdom tooth out, and had a cold, all contributed to comfort eating...
Don't know where my motivation is for this losing weight thing. I haven't got much to lose, just wanted about half a stone, to feel a bit fitter and a bit more trim. But this week I just haven't cared.
I'm blaming it on the hormonesAnd starting afresh this morning, ready for tonight's SW meeting...
Hope you're all well, will try to keep up, but this thread moves so quickly sometimes...

Morning all
Worn out after the weekend, had the kids as per normal, also played and won at rugby in Northampton, though we nearly snatched a draw from the jaws of victory, but we won 15-12 in the end. Following the Meat Loaf cancellation, and after the ex finally said I could drop the kids off 45 mins early, I booked tickets for last night, the see The Commitments at Dunstable, So last night I roped the kids off in Coventry, drove home, picked up MrsSuggs and then straight to Dunstable with 10 mins to spareWe had front row seats, (no choice really, that was all that was left!) and I actually got up and danced with MrsSuggs, albeit the infamous "old man suffle" but I was up for the best part of 2 hours, It was a great night and MrsSuggs loved it as she likes that music. I was picked on by the lead singer as well as I still had a rugby t shirt on saying "make me scrum" which led him to use the exact same single entendre joke about the barmaid!
And to cap it all I dozed off after MrsSuggs left for work and forgot I had a team update conf call at 8.30 Opps
Grat to hear you are all hot and warm KPC, the fish and chips were a one off treatTwas good to hear about positive shopping experiences for victory and petrichor
Welcome to you georgiebrown, Hope your doing well, your goal certainly seems doable and even more so with the help and assistance from the ladies of the here thread
CheeryDaff, good luck for tonight, so what if you maintained? As the very least you have have not gainedwe all suffer with the negatives so as a group lets make the glass half full, not half empty :T on a side issue, I crave sweet stuff every now and then, obviously not TOTM for me, so why do I suffer ???
Well done starlight, great result for you. :T:T

Thanks for that Victory, I'm going to hold out for the delicious Desh curry on Wednesday but have added your recipe to my folder for another time, so thankyou!
Well done Starlight, great result this week!:T Hope everything is okay your end.
Don't worry too much Cheery Daff, it sometimes takes a while to adopt a new way of eating, and TOTM week is not the best one for that! Good luck tonight and whatever happens, today is Day 1 so it's all up (or rather down on the scales!) from here.
Suggsy, your night out sounds like a lot of fun! Hope you get some rest soon to recover. As for the cravings, when they come on try to work out why - one reason may definitely be tiredness kicking in, whether that's physical, mental or emotional tiredness. Being aware of why we reach for food is the first step to being more in control. I have learnt to ask myself why I am craving something and then respond accordingly e.g. if you fancy crisps, your body may need some salt. [Chocolate around TOTM is magnesium - not relevant to you Suggs but might help some of the girls:D]. I then try to give it what it's asking for, but in a healthy package! If I crave chocolate or sweet things, the first thing I check is my energy levels - if I am tired then I will have a rest (there are lots of ways to do this apart from sleeping). So work out where the craving is coming from and then you can deal with it more effectively. Sometimes it will simply be because you would really, really like a bar of chocolate/ packet of crisps etc, in which case have one and enjoy every mouthfulHope that helps Suggs, sorry for the waffle!

Hi everyone - looks like we are back again!
After weighing in yesterday it is time for me to stop faffing about and get back on plan. I really lost my way for a while which has resulted in a shocking 4 lb weigh gain:eek:
Maybe it is the time of the year, or maybe because I have been away so many times but I havn't been on plan for about 3 weeks. I have also found that I have lost energy as well so tend to sit all day watching tv, on the computer, reading etc. Then I have the cheek to remind my husband to walk the dog!!
So big kick up the backside for me, back on plan this morning and nice walkies with the dog. Wish me luck everyone.
As Ever

Phew, we're back!:D
Georgiebrown, well done for getting the treadmill, accessible exercise is key. Why is running 20 minutes so scary? Have you done much running before? If running is new or you haven't done it for a long time, perhaps altering your aim will make it seem a nicer prospect? Perhaps start by run- walking and aim to build up gradually to running for 20 mins? Let me know what your running experience is and I'll be glad to help out if you'd like me to, so you can put one of theseinstead of !
Retiredlady, we all fall off the wagon sometimes so well done for giving yourself the kick up the backside! Hope the dog has had a nice walkWhy do you think your energy levels have dropped off? Could it be partly due to your food? Hope you find your zing again soon!
Still having a good week here, hoping for a positive WI tomorrow - well, it's about time eh?! :rotfl:
Ajax, are you still out there?Think I've only seen one post from you in several weeks.

Great we are back:D
retiredlady we all fall off from time to time the best thing is to acknowledge it, give it a nod as it were but then not let it beat you ,carry on and then you can laugh in the face of wagons:rotfl: :rotfl:
About cravings, giving in, etc, mine was boredom simple as that, last week I knew I was not going to be that busy and started in my mind listing all the things I was going to eat so that the day would be full, I never ate one of them because I changed my way of thinking and decided that all I could for myself to help was to keep busy and so I went out all day, walking, shopping, then came home and cleaned etc and all day I had nothing that I should not have had and was proud at the end of the day that I never allowed something as simple as boredom make me eat...I won:D
bails is spot on, you have to learn your own body, your own buttons, what presses them, what makes them decide you want choc etc rather than need, that is the difference, I so want loads of foods but do not need them, crave all you like I tell myself you are not having them and that is that!!
As bails says, tiredness plays a huge part, as well as my downfall boredom, loneliness, fed up ness, talking to my mother, relationships, work, trigger points loads of them, just re teach brain to not reach for food, reach for a walk/gym/exercise/write thoughts down, talk to someone, have a bath,a hot mug of your fav drink etc.
Lying to yourself is also a huge one for me or was, I used to lie to myself saying but I need all this amount of food otherwise I will have a diabetic coma, what toss, I have never been near one, had one and now the food has vastly decreased ever thought I was going to have one, it kept me fat, hidden,in a bubble and now I am honest with myself and the way I see food and act around it it is liberating.0 -
