Big congrats to your brother Bails! :D Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Now that I've had my style advice from Trinny and Susannah I may go in search of a new winter coat tomorrow :D

Apart from the other day when I did yoga instead of a tougher workout, I've been SO good this week, easily sub 1000 cals/day and at least an hour exercise daily, but the scales aren't moving. I am going to workout until I can barely stand tomorrow (weigh in Monday).

After all this talk about kittens, I'm glad I had my meal before I logged on. unfortunately I have an adverse reaction to kittens :p - I don't like them but they seem to love me:confused: .

Now pay attention .... this is not a double entendre at all although it might sound very doubtful. I have a pure and innocent mind and am not at all sure.

If cats/kittens bother you, wait until they are quite near and then blow as hard as you can into their dear little faces. It doesn't hurt them at all but they really really don't like it and will not come near you again. You do have to blow very hard indeed. I can't bear felines. (trying to avoid the pu$$y word)

Congratulations to your brother and his partner to be Bails.

Hope you feel better soon Delly

despite another nightmare night with my back, I feel a new woman: had my hair cut and coloured :D . Then had a lovely time meeting a friend for coffee and resisted a danish, and had a much less damaging chocolate frog on the way home instead. TOTM chocolate cravings going on  .
1000cals a day missyg? That doesn't sound alot? If the scales aren't budging anymore is there any chance your body may be going into panic mode and be hanging on to what it's got?
I've got 2 weddings next year Bails and I must admit I'm glad the weight loss is on target to be looking good by then. I'm not sure how much more I will lose, maybe 7 -10lbs but I'm a size 12-14 kinda girl in my head and that'll do me. I'm beginning to appreciate some of the issues for other folk in maintaining: will relaxing 'the rules' a bit mean I lose total focus. I'm fairly confident not, but don't quote me :D A target member at my SW group sticks to plan during the week and relaxes more at the weekend and it seems to be working for her.
Hey kpc: looking forward to hearing you're warm and snug with the CENTRAL HEATING ON:T .

Evening all:D would never have a kitten, can't take them for walks:rotfl: :rotfl:

Just watched Kylie, I bet she is smaller than an 8, more envy:rotfl: :D

Had a super boring day but it is nearly over and tomorrow is rememberance sunday and we are off out for a curry lunch and some drinks in the bar with the 'ol boys, Royal Engineers, I will have no drinks, only diet for me and very little curry, nice as it is every year :D

I am looking forward to it more because I have my smart wallis suit that I was very lucky to be given, looks lovely on and want to show myself off:D

I had one fab moment today, a shop that was never meant for me and my huge size which often I went in with other friends and 'held their bags' while they excitedly tried on all the clothes. well today.... I went in alone and bought something that fits, tried it on, and it fitted so I bought it, smiling the whole time....now that moment was worth loosing weight for:D

  • Good morning everyone!

DS was up REALLY early today (6 am) so I'm dead tired but it was my turn so here I am.

bails - congratulations for your brother getting engaged. You must be so excited. Weddings are great things to look forward to, and great motivation as a LW goal (although I was a size 22 when I got married - wasn't worried about my weight back then).

brighton belle - I'm glad you're feeling better. It's amazing what a good haircut can do for your self esteem! And resisting that danish too! Well done you:T As for your idea of maintaining - I think you're SW buddy has a great idea. Everyone is capable of discipline when you're working during the week so it makes sense to losen the reins a bit at the weekend when temptation is it's greatest.

victory - getting clothes in a tiny person's shop:j 6lnjkev.gif. How great do you feel? As for Kylie's tiny size 8 or less. I really don't feel envious of celebrities. If I had the resources that they had, I'd be a size 8 too. It's easy to keep in trim when you have the money for personal trainers/ chefs/ nannies/ personal yoga instructors. Those people don't live realistic lives compared to ours - I mean, would you survive under the scrutiny she goes under every time she walks out the door. The pressure to look amazing every day must be awful!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone, whatever you get up to!:D
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

    Morning everyone!

BB, congrats on the new hair and resisting temptation in the coffee shop, you go girl! (I think we may be in sync with TOTM now, do you reckon we have the power to do that in virtual land as well?!... :rotfl:)

Missyg, I agree with BB about the possibility of your body going into panic mode- less than 1000 cals and an hour's exercise may be sending your body the wrong signals.

Victory, fab news on the shopping, that must have been such a boost!:T Have a great lunch out today, mmm curry!

As for celebrities, I'm with you Delly - I can't think of anything I would hate more than to have their lives and their bodies; I put enough pressure on myself without the rest of the world joining in!

Thanks for all the good wishes for my brother, I am still very excited at the thought that they're finally going to do it!

Ha ha, just like me dad, he's allergic to cats but has 5!

Sorry I've not been on the last couple of days, I've been feeling rotten (*cough cough*), feeling better now.
Weigh day for me tomorrow, and I reckon I've gained, the combination of feeling icky, and a bad TOTM had me craving big plates of comfort food. Pasta and the like.

    We shall see.

Brighton belle & Bails thanks for the advice about 'panic mode'. This has occurred to me too, I'm not sure how to handle it though because if I eat more and/or exercise less I will gain weight. I have been steadily reducing calories as the weight has been coming off, and this is where I am now.

If the scales aren't budging between weigh ins, or worse if I find myself gaining a little, my reaction is always to increase the effort! It usually works itself out by Monday weigh ins, I've only had one 'gain' week the whole time I've been dieting. I will research this a bit more though because it is getting harder and harder. Thanks :)

Having said all that, Aunt Flo is due tomorrow and 'she' could be partly to blame ;)

Hi missyg, are you saying that from experience or is it what you fear will happen? There are two natural reactions when things aren't working - either trying harder (as you are) or falling off the wagon! Sometimes, however, working harder at it isn't necessarily the answer, alien as that feels. I would suggest that this week (with TOTM) isn't the best one to experiment with this but perhaps it's something you can try in the future? This week may well be nothing more than TOTM as you say, so wait and see :D

I think the important thing here is to find a method that is sustainable. I hope I'm right in thinking that our collective aim is to lose weight so we can be healthy and enjoy life more, rather than getting to a stage where maintaining it dominates our lives (I speak from experience). Being so close to/at goal as I believe you now are, the maintenance phase will be your focus. This is where SO many of us struggle - losing the weight can almost be the easy part! It's vital to find a solution that works for you for life - the 80/20 rule is just one example of that. This is now the transition phase from weight loss to maintaining and needs real thought; after all, continuing to reduce calories and increase exercise is unsustainable in the long term. I hope you can find the balance you are looking for Missyg, and I know there are others on here struggling with that (as we will all do once we get to our respective targets).
