Hi all, can I join you?
I did slimming world a few years ago, and lost just over a stoneNow I'm less than I was when I left, but I can feel my eating habits going all over the place (as ever, it's chocolate that gets me), so have started going to classes again.
I'm only aiming to lose about half a stone, and lost 1lb of that in the first week (could have been more, but I stuffed myself at the weekend...).
Just thought I'd join in if I can, to keep me on the straight and narrowWill pop in when I can

Cheery Daff, hi and welcome! I'm 1lb down on half a stone to lose too, so we can be slimming buddies
hehe (as long as you're not a decade younger than me... read up for that story
)
Well done on losing the stone and keeping it off, looking forward to hearing how you get on.0 -

victory - enjoy your photo session, hope you have a fab day! Remember to set a budget for your prints because I'm sure you're aware sometimes you will get the hard sell, though I'm not saying this will happen where you're going. Have fun - practice your posing before you go! Hope you have a good day at work.
Oh I know, when we went to get the kids ones done at Debenhams it was a £5 special deal, when we went back to collect, we were taken in this tiny room with all of them set up and the whole lot was £435:eek:  I always use the same line...'my H could not get the time off work, so will come back with him...' never go back:rotfl: :rotfl:
The strangest thing is you get 50% off if you pay beforehand but I did not want to do that as I want to see them first...
The flippin' boots scales are not working again:mad: so put me down for a maintain, nothing unusual has happened in the last week apart from a toby carvery so can't see much difference, I look forward to my tuesdays with the weigh in but they say they are fixing them...again:rolleyes:
welcome cheery0 -

Is this where I've been going wrong? Not enough scrabble?0 -
I've never liked the pricing model of some photo studios. A photographer I know very well charges £150 flat fee for an hour's family shoot, and all the pictures are signed over to you on CD to keep and do what you like with (i.e. it's like having the 'negatives', you can get all the prints and photo gifts you like at normal high street print prices).
£435 is cheap compared to some of the horror stories I've heard... :eek:0 -
The prices they charge is ridiculous, I remember for the xmas cd at nursery for the little one it was £65:eek: many mums bought it, I never, tight as I felt I knew I could not afford it and it would only ever be watched a handful of times, nice to have as a memory granted but the expense is too much for me:D
All this , the photo shoot, hair, make up etc was because I asked my H to take some and he said no because he could not do it all justice and suggested I went for the professional look to be able to keep and look back at all the weight loss, the achievement etc, am really looking forward to it although at the mo I have the mother of all spots on my left cheek which I am willing for it to be gone in the next 14 days:rotfl: :rotfl:
My friends daughter has just got married and her wedding photos came to £1,755, I am positive a photographer cannot justify that, wedding or no wedding:eek: obviously she is delighted with them and is paying for them but for that amount I could think of many a more sensible thing to do with the money:D0 -
Thanks for the welcome
My sister had some of those prints done (of herself) and it cost her hundreds in the end (she never owned up to how many hundreds, lol!)
After all my good intentions signing up here, I'd best confess that I've just eaten a double milky wayWasn't even hungry, tired, cross or anything, I just fancied one
That's me on the straight and narrown then for the rest of the week!
(oh, and by the way, I'm 27 - does that make me a decade younger than you?)0 -
Hi Lovely Peeps
Well done Delly on losing 1 lb :j No! You will not put any on next weekyou're made of stronger stuff, so stay focussed. I'm pleased that you're back on form
...
...Hi Cheery Daff (what a lovely name) we have a lot of chocolate lovers here, so hopefully someone will be able to give you some advice on how to deal with cravings for it. I'm one of that rare breed that can take it or leave it. I'm glad to say :j ...
...Raphael Why not just treat yourself to one mince pie a day, but without the cream, that way you won't feel too deprived. I like the mince pies that have brandy butter on them, so I'm going to limit myself to two of them this year and have them in place of a meals, I know that sounds strange to some but it works for me :j ...

[quote=Brighton_belle;6728726Glad to hear you haven't broken rule 143b)ii) section 5 of our club (members shalt not sneak off to Bognor, let alone abroad without written permission in triplicate. Members must be warned that said application will not be viewed favourably)...bb[/quote]
:rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks for that bb brightened me up a treat :rotfl: :rotfl: I'd love to break that rule, but fat flippin' chance :rotfl: :rotfl: ...
...Petrichor~Did you get trousers then?...
This is what I meant to tell you all yesterday but it went out my head. We (MrP and I) went into various shops, and they were either too long/short/, if they were the right length they were either bootcut (don't like them)/wrong size/wrong fabric etc etc When I did find a suitable pair, there was a queue for the fitting rooms  I didn't want to buy them and than have to take them back if they didn't fit correctly, so I came back with nothing. DD says, nay, has instructed methat we are going back to the shops this coming Thursday and I won't be allowed home until I find some (she's fed up of hearing me moan about how cold my legs are getting :rotfl:)...
...So missyg I have to agree with you, now that I've lost weight I certainly am noticing the colder weather at the moment, but don't we burn extra calories when we're cold? Also, I agree wholeheartedly that it's harder to lose weight the older we get that's why I'm determined not to put it back on this time...
...I've been amazed to read about the photographs charges  Fortunately, no photographer would be up to the challenge of me...
...I'm doing spiced green lentils for dinner, I love them; MrP and DD will have a naan bread with theirs. I'm finally getting back into some from of menu planning and using stuff that I already have in the cupboards and freezer. One day at a time at the moment though.
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

I did think of having 1 a day, but then I thought that was too much!:rotfl:I bought myself a pack of 12 from Asda last night and haven't opened them yet. I'm hoping that now I have some readily available I won't crave them so much! Might just have one in every work lunch break (i.e 5 a week)
I also bought myself some porrige oats (the proper stuff you mix with milk, not the sugar packed premade stuff) so that should fill me up and keep me warm on the cold early starts. A blob of jam on top isn't too bad is it?
Well a 4.6lb lost for mewhich means I'm just 0.4lb away from losing my 1st stone!! (and my first fiver from my gran, she's paying me £5 a stone).
