Hello
I am happy to report a 2.5 lb loss, so after my blip last week I am rather chuffed. I am happily within my healthy Bmi, I don't have to pay to weigh at WW, I'm feeling great and love all the fab comments I am receiving. So despite baby keeping me awake all night I'm feeling good.
Does anyone else go to WW and miss out on the free irresistible mag? Since re-joining in Sept I have not got one plus twice there have not been any trackers left, thinking of moaning to WW head office but not sure if they will be too bothered.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
Hi, Well done to all who have lost this week and hugs to those who hvnt this week but will do in the coming wek. I am so pleased to have lost 1lb, 41lb more to go( current weight 13st4lb target weight 10st4lb)
I think joining you all has been the best thing I have ever done about losing weight. I used to read so much about weight loss tips, advice and weightloss stories on internet, but the stuff which I read here has so much more effect on me!
After one week of giving up chocs and crisps the sweet tooth has started to irritate me a bit especially in the fternoon after getting kids back from school, thanks for forewarning me Brighton Belle, Victory, Justmarried, Beanielou and Granynise. I have now stocked up Apples, pears and raisans for snack times. Went to get Options yesterday and bought Cadbury's highlights fudge flovour and had a lovely guilt free drink(40 cals only) last night-thanks Petrichore. Have always struggled with drinking 8 glasses of cold water but quite liked the idea of warm water with a drop of lemon- thanks Bails . Now I am drinking more than eight glasses but the only problem is the trips to loo!
I have just read your last post Misyg so We are same age, I wish was the same BMI as well!0 -
Victory, I wish I could not buy the foods that tempt me, but I do for my son. He is a wonderful eater who in no way needs to be on a diet with me, so I'm not going to deny him crisps and biscuits etc. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has all sorts of forbidden things around and just has to have willpower of steel!
Yes I have 2 kids also and a H that has no weight issues ever but being diabetic in a way helps because I will not buy in all the sugary cereals, sweet bars, cakes biscuits etc because I can't eat them, my H is not that bothered whether they are there or not and for my kids I would hate to think that one day due to all the sugar they become diabetic like me....no one in my family living or dead has been diabetic, just me for the last 9 years... I mean my favourite of all time pre diabetic was treacle pudding made by my mum, I used to slice off the top bit and eat it without a care, loved it but would not now either make it for the kids or have treacle in the house, not knowing what all that sugar can do:D
I let my kids have what they want, when they want but not so much of all the sweet stuff, they love chicken pie and will have that tonight, before this weight loss I would have eaten the pie all to myself:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: but now I don't eat any at all and will have a WW meal instead with plenty of veg...
suggs yes maintaining but every tuesday I want to know that I have maintained rather than just guess because the damn scales are not working:D well done on your 1lb loss:j :j
The booklet for the fashion shoot has come through, the photos will be 7 by 5 = £50, 6 by 8 =£60, A4= £70, 12 by 16 = £99, the way the booklet is worded (take into consideration that someone would have bought this mini pampering day for you for xmas or special occasion so you think it is bought and paid for...) they encourage strongly for you to buy the photos, the corresponding frames, the make up they have applied to your face, the hair products they have put into your hair, the massage oils they have used on your hands, crumbs a real money spinner, I am going to have to box clever and leave my card at home because it will end up costing so very much if you have the inability to say no:rotfl: :rotfl:
well done jen
tiby I drink hot lemon or bovril, keeps the hunger at bay, for snacks I have sugar free jelly, fromage frais with a bit of fruit, 0% greek far yogurt, WW do a huge line in puddings, snacks, etc to have as treats but still keeping it low in sugar, calories, fat etc. We converted to dark choc as a little bit of it goes a long way and takes the edge off the sugar cravings, green and blacks do mini bars, just a couple of squares helps make you feel that you are not deprived...0 -
Woohoo...I may have found a trick that works....time will tell...
My little sister got engaged over the weekend and I'm to be a bridesmaid next year...I would so so love to be a nice slim bridesmaid so now everytime I go to munch the naughty stuff I say 'bridesmaid' (obviously in my inner voice otherwise the men in white coats would be after me)...doesn't always stop me munching but it does remind me of what I want to achieve...hence only 1 mini muffin with my tea and not three!!
It also helps when contemplating the gym....time will tell....
I can never maintain a food diary but I am now writing down any naughty food that I eat...Its easier to keep track of and will be far easier to maintain long term....
anyhow...best get back to it
congrats on all the achievements that have popped up over the week...0 -
For hunger-beating foods I find a bowl of cereal pretty good, Special K is my favourite. My main meal of the day tends to be lunch, then I try to keep the evening 'meal' early (about 6pm) and light (100-200 cals) so cereal works well. After that I only drink water for the rest of the evening.
x_raphael_xx, I just discovered Tesco's own brand porridge which comes in a bag instead of a box and is much cheaper. I don't eat it but my son prefers it to the more well known brand I used to buy
Victory - VB's diet :rotfl: My waist is 27" and my diet is a LOT tastier so she does all that for just 4" less:rotfl:
Suggs - Congrats on getting back to your pre-Cairo weight!!!
Hi Tiby - so I have an age twin on here as well as my slimming twin Cheery Duff! Good luck with getting to your target, you're off to a great start!
No takers on the stylist front to help me find a winter coat to flatter my new figure then?0 -
That's the spirit seren they always say you need a focus something to look forward to, to keep thinking about so that you know what you are doing it for and now you have a fab reason to keep on track:D
When I started it was my summer hols as I did not want to look as bad in a swimsuit as I had done the previous year:rotfl: :rotfl: right at this moment I keep focused by knowing in 2 weeks time I am having my photos taken and would not want to gain and another one is that xmas is only 7 weeks away and if I keep on track I could indulge a little rather than being the one that always says 'no thank you':D
I have already bought the xmas favs, they are hidden away so the kids don't know or H so they cannot eat them but xmas for them is indulgences and plenty of them:D starting with the pre-requisite quality street tin...oh the toffee one, yum;)0 -

Oh can you feel the envy coming toward you for your 27" waist?:j :j
Littlewoods direct have trinny and suzanna on it when you go to the site they tell you which clothes flatter your body shape, have a look it is very good and may give you an idea...0 -
Congratulations to your sister serendisglair, you'd better make sure you don't buy your bridesmaids dress (or have it made) too early, or you'll keep needing alterations!
My only focus is how much better I feel with every pound that comes off, and how the exercise is improving the way my body looks. I know how much effort I've put into it, and it's so gratifying to see the results. That's enough to keep me going
I'm having a haircut tomorrow, I have REALLY long hair so if I get a good bit chopped off, I will probably lose half a pound right there :rotfl:
Oooh thanks Victory - off to look at that site now...0 -
Hello all
Please can i join in?
I am a new poster to MSE although am not very new as i have been reading all the fabulous posts that are out there (so motivating
I came accross this thread and for a couple of days now i have wanted to join in discussion but never have ...until now!
I have always been on the larger side of life and it's always been an issue for me, Ive always 'wanted' to do something about shifting my weight but never actually did anything about it.
I've spent a year at Slimming world but that turned into more of a social event more than a weight loss journey so i didn't really lose anything there, yet i know the plan inside out!! :wall:
Having been to the doctors today for something quite routine, i learnt that my BMI is 45  !!! and i am classed as very Obese! (how i hate that word!) _pale_
So NOW is the time i am going to do something about it and this time it is going to me for me and my health..not for my wedding, not for the next holiday...FOR ME!!
So here's to the new me, wish me luck and i hope to get chatting to some of you very very soon, Good Luck to those who are already on a weightloss journey and a huge well done to those who have lost already...you are all a great inspiration.
Take Care

Hi Donna niceto have you with us, the best way to start is to have that 'life changing moment' or the 'lightbulb moment' as some people call it and you have hadthat now so it is only up from now on:D
I did mine because my health was suffering and I was tired all the time, tired of saying no to the kids when they asked meto play with them as I used to get out of breath and need to sit down, all that has changed now and it will for you too....
Start off small, tiny steps, think that you want to loose 2lb a week, you want to loose for such and such, change the things you eat and drink and keep an eye on the portion sizes, try to up the exercise, drink loads of water, it will come off and we will all be here for you, all theway so a very warm welcome and keep with us:D0
