welcome2.gif Donnadoo: you are very welcome to join us here. There are quite a few members who have a lot to lose and / or have lost a lot so plenty of sympathetic support for you here. Are you planning to follow a particular plan or healthy eating/portion control or having another bash at SW?
    My advice would be:
1)keep a daily diary of what you are eating (that has been the key to my sucess with SW).
2)Menu plan each week for the week ahead - saves eating rubbish through lack of time or too tired to think.
    3) Finally: break down your goal weight into small, quickly achieable targets. Join our monthly 5lb challenge (see page one)
    4) good day or bad, keep posting here:D to help get you through your bad days and for us to share in your sucess:T .

Tilby: really delighted that joining has been so positive for you:j . Keep with us for the long haul.

  • Thankyou Victory for your kind words and your very warm welcome and thankyou Brighton Belle, Yes i am deffinatly going back with the Slimming World as i know this works if it is stuck to.

One thing i was lacking was planning my meals and i think that is a big must so thats what i will deffinatly do as well as keeping a food diary.

I am going to be happy with the slightest loss as at least it is not a gain, I have a cross trainer at home so instead of it being a washing line i will sweep off the cobwebs and get myself on there.

And i will deffinatly keep posting on here

  • Hi Donna, and Tiby and Cheery Daff, hope you enjoy the thread. I've been offline for a bit - been mad busy out o the office with work and wrestlingwith my boiler at home. Wouldyou beleive that after six weeks we now find out it needs replacing?

    WAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

But on the plus side i lost 1.2kg this week. It must have been all the shivering. Just been to Lishman's of Ilkely who is one of Rick Stein's food heroes. I got a bacon chop that has been slit and stuffed with dried apricots and mozzerella cheese. So a few syns but i think i deserve it. I'm getting the new boiler on saturday thank goodness, although it will really !!!!!!up my weekend plans.
  • Hi Katiepoppycat

Gosh what a nightmare for you - is it a new boiler then? if it is, is it under garantee?

Well done for your loss, was does that work out to in stones/pounds??- that bacon chop sounds lovely, not sure about the apricots though :-s

    well done katie:j :j :j

donna I agree with the weekly menu plan, it is so much easier to do that than to constantly think what to have, when etc and also I make up WW 0 point soups and put a weeks worth in the freezer so that when the hunger strikes there is always something there that can be easily accesible and has no affect on the weight loss, soups are filling and great to have on standby if you don't fancy making up batches, then baxters healthy eating soups are great also for an easy portable lunch...

    Good luck at SW :D

Hey Donna, welcome :D Thanks for sharing your story, there are people on here who have had amazing and dramatic weight losses and I agree they are so motivating!

Good luck, we'll look forward to sharing your joy as you move into the different BMI bandings :D

Victory, I went to look for Trinny and Suzanna's advice and it's so funny, you have to put in your sizings and then click whether you have any particular areas you need help with so I clicked on "big boobs" and the silhouette woman's boobs expanded massively! :rotfl:

    Hello all

    Please can i join in?

I am a new poster to MSE although am not very new as i have been reading all the fabulous posts that are out there (so motivating

I came accross this thread and for a couple of days now i have wanted to join in discussion but never have ...until now!

I have always been on the larger side of life and it's always been an issue for me, Ive always 'wanted' to do something about shifting my weight but never actually did anything about it.

I've spent a year at Slimming world but that turned into more of a social event more than a weight loss journey so i didn't really lose anything there, yet i know the plan inside out!! :wall:

Having been to the doctors today for something quite routine, i learnt that my BMI is 45  !!! and i am classed as very Obese! (how i hate that word!) _pale_

So NOW is the time i am going to do something about it and this time it is going to me for me and my health..not for my wedding, not for the next holiday...FOR ME!!

So here's to the new me, wish me luck and i hope to get chatting to some of you very very soon, Good Luck to those who are already on a weightloss journey and a huge well done to those who have lost already...you are all a great inspiration.

    Take Care

    ~*Donna*~

Donna Big welcome to you, well done on the first step, now lets keep you interested and involved and hopefully you will soon be on your journey :)

I know the lightblub moment is a horrible point, but as Victory says now it the onwards and upwards time :) This is something we have all gone through and to some extent we still go through. The BMI in some cases is not a good weigh to measure how overweight or perfectly formed you are, Any rugby team would have a hign BMI due to muscle! I had a BMI of 56.99 when I started and even now the BMI is 34.91 and that is after losing over 11stone. Doubt I will ever hit a BMI 'normal' :)

Small steps to start, join the 2lb club, and the monthly challegne, I think Dellybelly is running the chart this week, and hopefully we will have a smaller, happy you next week :)
