I was one of the ones that took up the deal through this site for the above.
I had trouble as most did with the first claim, but did get the decision reversed immediately and got the cheque.
Last month was my 6th bill to go in, unfortunately due to the post strike I received the bill on the 10th and sent it all back by recorded delivery on the 12th. I have not had the acknowledgement and have checked the Royal Mail tracking site plus rang them and as it is 15 days [yesterday] they have now declared it lost!
I am going to ring E2Save [not holding out much hope as their website makes it quite clear they will not take any excuse] and also put a claim into Royal Mail for the maximum £34, hopefully it applies to this.
Looking for next deal now, E2Save have already telephoned trying to get me to take the same deal again but with a new number, they promised to ring back to clarify details but have not bothered.

The £34 compensation for lost items refers to the value of the item.

    You have lost worthless items.

That is why you always see advice to use special delivery with consequential loss insurance.

(Though if you fill out the claim form, Royal Mail will send you some stamps as compensation for the 70p you paid for recorded delivery)
  • Hey I have taken up this offer with carphone warehouse (CW) - my contract started on the 3rd of November. All i need to do is send the 4th bill (i guess i will recieve in the beginning of March 08) and send it to CW?

Whats the address? What should i send just the bill or the bill with a short letter explaining i am claiming for £90 etc etc..

Is anyone else doing this too??

    Cheers

    hey

my quidco validated today at £60... so i look to be making a profit.

simplysound... i rang cpw on 0800 0855900 dont use that dirrty 0870 number lol.... and she said the 4th bill is february... my contract started on 1st november. i will send it in with a letter explaining becuase she seemed a bit unsure. i have also emailed cpw to get confirmation because i dont want to miss out on my cashback.

i have transferred my number too, so i need to put on the bill, 'number ported'.

as for the address, i wrote it down but cant find the paper. ring the above number and there is a pre recorded message on sending on the address. (somewhere in southampton)

have never done a cashback before so am a bit nervous too, but with the 60 from quidco, im not to bad if out goes rong.
  • It amazes me that people shout about these things; I have had things I shouldn't have got and always refrain from posting it on here for VERY obvious reasons! I recommend you actually delete the relevant posts, even though you are excited, hopeful and possibly trying to help others - it could well have the reverse effect!!
  • Ok so send the bill that we get in Feb, to carphone ware house at the address given by calling 0800 0855900. Send it with a cover letter explaining we are claiming for the £90 cash back, and say numbers been ported (which mine has too)... then Bobs your uncle and we get a cheque in the post...

    sounds simple

i stand to make £5 because virgin gave me £5 deduction from my first bill for no reason, so over the 6 months it will have cost me £85, as long as the cash back of £90 works, its happy days!

For those who have ported, how have you done this? Is there something on the online form or do you do it with Virgin after getting the SIM from Carphonewarehouse?
Anyone had confirmation from CPW about this?

Im also thinking about doing this, but..

    - If you go over your mins and texts, does it matter?

    - What happens after the 6 months?

    - Just how do they make a profit?
  • 1) No - you pay the extra.

    2) You give notice cancel before the 6 months is up.

    3) Depends who "they" are. cpw won't IF you do it right.

All this is very basic and old news. Cashback deals are now in a mess generally and no-one should entertain them unless they get a lot further than those questions by reading all the threads on here and more. Not hours - much more. This might help:-

This is one of the easiest and safest with an absolute maximum risk of £85 if you don't exceed your allowance and cancel on time.
  • Just to let everyone know I've recevied the cashback (£90) within 3 weeks of claim from CPW. Just need to send in bill no.4 to the new Southampton PO box. I also included a copy of the 'invoice' and a few words on the paper explaining the claim.

Hopefully the deal will still be around in Feb 08 when my current one ends.
