Also, we aren't too old to retrain. Damnit.

Actually - I think you are younger then me so you can definitely retrain!

I will be 42 next month  I can't think of any other job I could do that would pay me enough to clear this debt and survive on my own with the kids. It's just a 'down' time at work at the moment. There are good times and bad as there would be with any job, and I think overall the good outweighs the bad. I just feel a bit undervalued, but that is a whole working-for-the-government issue. Today wasn't awful but it wasn't great - I seem to have developed a very low tolerance for things that are out of my control. Noise levels, behaviour etc etc. I have whinged and moaned about anything and everything this week - roll on Friday.
The loan has arrived in my account already - credit card is paid. I'm just waiting for the monthly loan payment to process tomorrow and then I'll ring up and get the settlement figure and get that sorted out. I feel a bit sick whenever I think about it but I'm determined at the moment if nothing else. I've moved the rest of the money into a savings account so it doesn't sit there tempting me while I'm waiting for this settlement figure. I've sneaked some money into my mam's bank account as well, and she hasn't rang me to moan about it yet so possibly hasn't noticed. I feel less guilty at least :D
Just waiting for Mr S to deliver my monthly online shop - due in the next 45 minutes - then I'm unpacking it and heading off to bed early. DS has been emotional the past couple of days again - I think he has post holiday blues as well, and the best we can do is sleep well and look after ourselves, so I'll go to bed with him early again. My main problem at the minute is the quality of my sleep. I can't sleep more than 3 hours at a time at the moment so I don't think I'm getting any deep sleep and still feeling rough once I'm up. At least it's almost the weekend.
  • Mr S has been - and I am ready for bed. What a fast paced and exciting life I lead eh? Not sure what I can do to get more quality sleep when I'm waking up so much during the night... I might google it (but I bet it tells me to exercise more).
Now, a big decision - half hour of reading or half hour of crochet to wind down?
  • Cocoa helps me, making a list of my worries, having my salt lamp on a timer, Audio book. having the room a bit cool - I normally open the window when I clean my teeth.

And you think you lead a fast paced life. Permanent edge of excitement here clearly!

I think they are meant to do something to the air - the Ions?? Also the dim light just makes me think it is night - Mum is all about the bright lights.

really for me it is a routine thing I think. It all signals Bed and sleep.

    Evening all
So pleased to have survived another week at work and be getting on with an evening of relaxation. Another poor night of sleep - woke up at 2am, 3.30am and 5.45am. I read last night and haven't done any crochet for a couple of days - so tonight I'm crocheting and having just 1 gin early on (as that will wreck my sleep if it's close to bedtime).
Nothing much to report. I'm very, very tired. There's lots of drama going on but for once it's not my drama. Just trying to be supportive as far as I can and be a shoulder when someone needs it. Drama everywhere actually - work and friends. The only non drama area is my life (thank God) but still paying legal fees while my ex ignores his financial and parental obligations. So I get to pay while I wait for court to do what he refuses to. Brilliant - and I bet he's reading this now and still thinking that he's the victim, poor misunderstood soul. And I am the nasty moo-moo that destroyed his life. So much for us being amicable.:( Ah well - I have learned patience and strength that I didn't know I could have. I just hope something happens soon.

I had a similar night to you, CCL..... waking up every hour from about 3a.m, stressing about nothing. It's infuriating.
Let's hope for lots of zzzzzz tonight x

    Morning :coffee:
So, I slept from 11 till 5 - then couldn't get back to sleep so I got up and fed the cats and then had a couple of hours on the sofa.
I was meant to be doing a few things today but I've cancelled my plans because I want to focus on looking after myself. I've cancelled tutoring this morning, and I was supposed to be going to a football match with ds this afternoon. I won the tickets, but decided that I would pass them onto someone who would appreciate them as neither ds or I were even a little bit bothered about going. My good deed.
I've washed dishes and hoovered, and I have a little list. Small jobs. I need to do the washing, and do some exam work - which I'm going to mix with crochet and reading. So that I can get the unpleasant stuff done whilst enjoying my hobbies. Not that I'm much enjoying my current blanket pattern - I'm just pleased that it's almost finished and then I can get on with something I will enjoy making. I've also arranged to see bestie a couple of hours this afternoon - we're both busy but catching up is very important. And I might see my sister later. She has some stuff going on at the moment and I want to make sure I'm available if she needs me.
I'll check in later - hopefully all relaxed and chilled out.

Here I am, reporting in after a day that has pretty much gone according to plan. :D I haven't seen my sister but we're going to see each other tomorrow at my mam's so I'll be able to see for myself how she's getting on.
Popped over to bestie's house for coffee and a catch up, which was as lovely as it always is. I've done most of my exam work - just a little bit of reading and a report to write. Crochet is ongoing and I've done lots of relaxing. Going to have a soak in the bath and an early night ready for a bit of a busier day tomorrow.
I managed to pull enough money together to pay off a phone contract I took out for ex, about a month before we split. It was £200, but I will add it to the list of what he owes me on top of rent I paid, b&b, divorce costs, maintenance etc. It's all listed and recorded. I rang them up and explained the situation asked them to switch it over to PAYG - the man I spoke to said that it was very kind of me as his experience was usually that exes would just cut the number off altogether and make it as unpleasant as possible. I have always only wanted what is fair, and it's not fair for me to be paying his phone bill. They even agreed to waive the 30 day notice period and switch it over today, so a bit of a win-win for me.
I've also finished shuffling everything about for the loan, hidden the credit card and am just waiting a few days to see what happens when everything sorts itself out and payments have all gone. I will also need to do a new budget and see where I stand - I hope that it will save me money in the longer term. :D
