Well done for being able to express your thoughts in an email, especially with a migraine hovering. Hope the meeting with your head is useful and productive.
DD3 and DS 2 have both taken catering which works quite well, as they produce a pudding or meal every other week. DD2, on the other hand, doesn't want to cook at home after cooking all day at college :rotfl:.

So glad I am not the only one who finds Options evenings and other assorted and various Parent Information Evenings to be utterly useless. Poor teachers who have to stay on to do them. You can see the looks on their faces - the know the parents who turn up to them, are not the parents of the kids who need to turn up to them...4/10/25Three Years Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening :hello:
Well, after another drowsy tablet - for some reason I woke up this morning feeling much more rested than I have done in ages. I almost felt human, and ok about going into work. However, my head started banging as I was driving in - but I kept going...
I didn't get my meeting with the Head - he got called away to deal with something else. Whilst I get that there are millions of more important things it's a shame we didn't get to catch up, and it didn't do much to improve my mood. He saw me twice more during the day and said he'd be up to see me soon, but it never happened. Admittedly I left school as early as I could today and brought a load of work home so I might have missed him after school.
I have plenty of mock exams to be getting on with marking and will do a better job of marking at home rather than staying at work when I feel so rubbish there.
I am pleased that I feel better than I did yesterday though and hopefully more again tomorrow. At least tomorrow is Friday. Just waiting for Mr S to deliver the weekly shop and then I'm going to get on and so some work while I feel like it.Not giving up

Hello
Don't worry Speky - I'm going to see how I go without medicated sleep when I don't have to get up for work the next day. I'm going to sit up until about 10pm doing some marking and relaxing, no alcohol and see how that goes. Then if I'm up at 4am I can come downstairs and watch telly and doze back over at 6...
Thanks for posting Enjoying... nice to have you along, and thanks for the encouragement.
I feel pretty good tonight - better than I have done all day but that's not a surprise. I have all these papers waiting to be marked and I am going to make a start on it as soon as I've finished on here - then I won't be fretting about all the marking I have to do. Work seems to be more busy than usual as well - I still haven't seen the Head. I know it's not intentional, but it's reinforcing the idea I have of not being good enough and feeling a bit worthless. Never mind though - I have tonight and 2 more days without work so I should make the most of that.
Another 'challenging' day at work. A parent in reception screaming and shouting the place down and really having a go at one of the Heads of Year. I was so angry for her, and I was having to make the effort to stop myself telling the parent to get off the premises. I am a lowly teacher however and don't have that authority so settled for finding the Head and leaving him to deal with it. It is such hard work there at the moment - there never seems to be any respite.
Came straight home - plenty to get done here. As I say, alcohol free tonight. I'm going to get on and get some work done. That will do wonders for how I'm feeling. Not giving up

Hello  :coffee:
Well I am pleased to report a relaxing, yet productive weekend so far. :j
I ended up staying up later than planned on Friday night - midnight - BUT I got all of my marking done and marks entered online. And I stayed alcohol free. And I got a pretty good night of sleep - came downstairs just after 6am and managed another 2 hours on the sofa.
Decided to cross a couple of frogs off my ever growing list yesterday. DS had broken his very expensive exbox controller that he'd only gotten for Christmas. After a small google I found that it was a very common problem so emailed them and was told they will exchange it without charge. So I boxed it up and got it straight in the post. DS then complained that he couldn't use his other 2 controllers as one had a sticky button and the other one's mic wasn't working. One quick trip to Bee and Emm later, and DS learned the awesome power of WD40 :rotfl: Both controllers working again - much to his joy and amazement.
Dropped him at bestie's house so he could play with his bestie, while she and I popped out to collect a parcel and grab a sneaky posh coffee, and goodies for lunch back at hers. It was a lovely afternoon and much needed for my mental health.
Spent the evening in, desperately trying to finish my latest blanket. I haven't enjoyed this one very much so am looking forward to getting it done. I have 4 rounds of the border and a bit of end sewing left to do. Not sure if I'll get it finished today but I won't be far off. I'm doing 3 hours of tutoring today (can't really be bothered but I need the money as always), then I need to do some more washing and tidy the house a bit.
Best get on really as I'm still sitting here in my jammies. :rotfl:Not giving up
